I think they’re going to treat it like a Puss in boots last wish because they do not like messing up Shrek I mean the fourth one is four clearing up Shrek three
For real. They went from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and The Bad Guys to Kung Fu Panda 4 and Megamind 2. To think the Megamind sequel could’ve gotten the Last Wish treatment…

So as 'The Third'. But I guess you won't agree with me because Schrafiddbkdjfnfllas (whatever his name is) Productions already clouded your minds with unholy thoughts.
@@An-Eva-Enjoyer Trolls Band Together was pretty solid. I think with a good script, Walt and Gina will do just fine. Also, they have a history with Shrek.
My late grandma took us to see the original Shrek like 3 times in 2001. I don't think she understood most but the bird scene and the balloon animals always made her laugh.
Imagine the spin-off Donkey Movie from the Shrek franchise revealing that Donkey is actually a transformed human child from the Land of Toys in the Adventures of Pinocchio, and Donkey had forgotten everything that happened when he was a human child (He stayed in donkey form after his transformation from childhood to adulthood) including his real human name etc. following his transformation, but it would leave why the Happily Ever After Potion in Shrek 2 didn’t turn him back into a human but rather a white stallion ambiguous.
I think Shrek 5 will pick up where Puss in Boots: The Last Wish left off and give more depth into Shrek’s past, his parents and how he found his swamp.
@@MiaPrincess2000I get where you come from, but I believe they are trying focus on the younger audience. But shit I’m sure there was a lot of cringy shit in the 2000s that the “90s kids” thought it was cringe during those time. But I do agree I probably will be irritated by it lol
My biggest fear for Shrek 5 is with the poster tagline ‘The all-star returns’. It doesn’t inspire much hope that they’ll be doing anything new with the brand, as it won’t be moving forward, it will just be ‘returning’. Given the similar financial slump that they’ve been in, I feel that Dreamworks may just pump out a safe sequel similar to what Pixar is doing as of late to regain their losses from films like Ruby Gillman. It might be too soon to tell, but I’ve seen it before & Shrek has reached a point now where it could be seen as nostalgic, not to mention the meme status of the brand & all-star as a whole.

One thing I know for sure that I would love for shrek 5 to do, is to age up the 3 ogre babies. I'd love to see where that could potentially go visually and story wise.
Finally. Someone says that Shrek 5 will be pointless. Just like Toy Story 5 already is as well. And the animation will NOT be the same as the last wish. It’s just gonna be Ice Age 5 all over again.
The Last Wish has a somewhat stylized movement of the CGI that makes some scenes seem like a 3D equivalent to anime (i.e., the "Do you wanna see something cool?" scene). I noticed a similar fluidity (or lack thereof) on Pixar's Turning Red
@@kropianimation1774 well, they’ve been saying that Shrek 5 has a lot of effort put into it, but take a look at Kung fu panda 4, it was just a soulless cash grab. And I’m getting a feeling Shrek 5 will be too.
@@JeremyMasterson938finally someone realize that puss in boots the last wish wasn’t dream works last movie before king fu panda came, it sucked and might be bad and sieng how great inside out2 was success, Toy Story 5 might be better than shrek5.
It’s obviously going to be Shrek 5. It’s proven by this year. Pixar decided to rerelease 3 movies at the movie theater. The movies were Soul, Turning Red,& Luca. They made some money at the box office, but… when DreamWorks rerelease Shrek 2 back to the movie theater to celebrate its 20th anniversary, it made more money than all 3 Pixar movies combined.
This is why also concerned. Also the fact that Universal decided to bring back Shrek in order to be the $2 billion at the box office, becoming the highest grossing animated film surpassing Disney and WB.
actually, there IS a dreamworks middle ground: Prince of egypt middle ground. one of the greatest animated movies ever, so much heart and sweat was put into this masterpiece of a movie, but it's SOOOOO BORING OMG STOP JUST WALKING DO SOMETHING EAT SAND IDK.
seeing all those Shrek clips with women in them has made me realize how Dreamworks wasn't afraid of giving CGI women cleavage from time to time. Disney has really become afraid of doing that unless it's a Scottish maid.
Well Shrek was always teatering on PG-13. I mean half the women have cleavage and Shrek calls Donkey a "stubborn jackass" lol. I think the only reason why it was rated PG was because the tone and story.
There is some controversy regarding Shrek 5 in Poland. A couple of days ago the actor who was dubbing for Donkey passed away. It was one of the most iconic roles in popculture when it comes to animated movies here, and now people are debating whether the actor should be recast, or if AI should be used to make his voice and whether it would be still considered an art at this point.
Some pretend Forever After was the 3rd Shrek cuz they didn't like Shrek The Third, no wonder I’m glad with the realization that they didn't call it “Shrek 4”
Don't worry, that shouldnt happen, Megamind was placed in peacock's care where they didnt have a big enough budget to make something good, Shrek will definitely have a huge budget, so it just depends on the story for it to be good or bad
I can't say I'm hopeful for Shrek 5. Forever After was such a good finale and I can't really see how they'll continue the story any further. Might be controversial but I don't want Shrek 5 to use the Puss in Boots 2 style. I like the slightly odd, almost ugly style of the Shrek characters. I think it works with the subversion of the fairytale. I hope they don't look like the new Dreamworks intro either though. They look a bit too plastic there for my liking. I do think with modern CG animation, since the quality is so high, everything either looks too realistic or too stylised or both. Then there's the Donkey spin-off which I'm even less hopeful for. Pretty sure there was a reason why they made Puss the spin-off character, because he had potential and was a character who can stand alone. Donkey on the other hand I think works better playing off the straight man Shrek. I think he'll really grate as the protagonist.
I'm glad somebody else agrees on this. I was already saying how much I would dislike it if they used the same animation from last wish, on the new shrek. It would take me out of the experience, and wouldn't feel like a shrek movie. But that's just my personal opinion. The
Agreed on the art style. I think that’s the identity the Shrek franchise was going for in the beginning. It wasn’t meant to be super colorful and stylish and bombastic. It was more simple and grounded, and I like that style for those movies. So I hope they stick to that as well. But given how popular TLW is (and just how people these days want everything to have flare), they probably won’t.
They have brought back dead characters before. At Universal Studios in Florida, they had a ride called Shrek 4D. It was a short film where Lord Farquaad came back as a ghost
We had a feeling, because Puss in Boots the last wish teased us this idea, but if Shrek 5 does eventually come out, we would most likely see this movie take place in the future? Maybe have Shrek and Fiona look a little older, with their kids either being teenagers, or all grown up? Regardless, seeing Shrek again is up for debate, because the 4th movie was supposed to be the “final chapter”, still, I’m willing to give this movie a chance.
Shrek 5 must be a serious success and we know there are fans out here that love the beloved ogre after a whole decade of waiting we plea to see his return to the big screen
I saw someone say that the potential villain of Shrek 5 could be the ice queen from the actual fairytail & i really would love to see that especially with the new puss in boots artstyle!!
Well, @SchaffrillasProductions has done a similar video to yours called "Shrek 5 is coming and I'm a little worried..." Feels like it's going to be 90% of RU-vid channel creators are probably going to make "Shrek 5 is concerning".
What if it's not Fairy Godmother, but her sister or even a daughter who's out for revenge. That open up a new villain and have a motivation to their actions for this film.
I'd like if "Fairy Godmother" was more of a title and there was a crazed competition to replace her, ala Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World as everyone scrambles to get to The Place to Do the Thing that wins them the wand while sabotaging the others. That creates an excuse to use all those aforementioned princesses and side characters without needing to give any of them a significant amount of screen time.
What I'm more concerned about for Shrek 5 is they might follow the same trends that other sequel films such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World, Matrix 4 and Ghostbusters Afterlife did. Where they were sequels that took years to get a release and instead of giving us an original story, they just give us a rehash of the first films plot and nothing new. I REALLY hope that Shrek 5 doesn't do something like that. All the Shrek films were well known for original and groundbreaking stories, despite being based on a book itself. But I don't want to see it go down the same route as those movies I mentioned above.
I honestly have confidence in the movie, especially if they feel confident enough for a donkey spin-off. Original casting and 2 year production sounds like official movie business
Morgan Le Fey exists within the Shrek universe, she also so happens to be Arthur’s cousin. I’m not saying she might be the villain of Shrek 5, but historically speaking she’s been a villain in almost every iteration of Camelot.
It feels like in order for animation studios to make experimental projects they need to have a series of "safe" movies coming out along side them. So im fine with Shrek 5 if that means they will keep their staff employed and making new and "unsafe" projects in the future. I probably won't see it in theaters tho, since I just saw Inside Out 2. Next time I see a movie in theaters will probably be the new Alien one
after megamind 2 im genuinely scared for this movie, although i hope onto the idea that dreamworks wouldn't try to mess this movie up because they would receive a lot of backlash
I hope they don't do the same thing with despicable me 4 and keep the babies, babies. I hope we at least see them older. I could see shrek dealing with empty nest and having his children leave and he wants to make himself feel better and goes on 1 last adventure. Like maybe he has to rescue one of his kids from a bad potential marriage to the villain?
That's exactly what I said in my comment. That would really tick me off if they did that. I wonder if Felicia will be just like Fiona? I think it would be cool to see the too of them have bonding moments.
I think they just said "The all-star returns" because, y'know, people have been asking for more shrek and talking about him because they miss the movies and so therefore there is hype involved.
My problem with Shrek 5 is that there's just nowhere interesting to go while juggling so many different characters at this point. Shrek struggles to father his kids, bad guy comes along, seduces kids into being villains, Shrek has to win them back by righting his wrongs, villain has a Freudian slip, Shrek and the kids save the day through the power of family. And if that's not the plot, then it's going to be some weird mish-mash of previous movies and dateable pop culture references. Idk, they need a seriously talented team to make a fifth movie work, and based on who we've seen attached to the project, I'm not holding my breath 😂
I thought I was the only one who wasn't too excited for Shrek 5. I would've been hyped if Kung Fu Panda 4 wasn't mediocre and if Megamind 2 didn't exist
It's shrek. Everyone wants shrek. All they need to do is make a consistent story, ranging tween mild and good, and it will become the highest grossing animated movie of all time. They have to do something real F-ed up, if it's to fail. With shrek 5 they have to try in order to fail, is how hyped it is.
They should let things die. If they keep them alive, the least they can do is not use the franchise as a branded idealogy possessed piece of glop. They already did that with toy story 4
The best part of the Shrek movies, is they never talked down to the audience. I hope they continue that tradition for this movie, we already get that with a lot of reboots and sequels.
Remember that meme where the movies target each other? There was some marvel movie, matrix 4, something something and shrek 5. With how matrix came out, that meme really aged like milk.
Ya’ll are acting as if Puss and Boots 2 wasn’t the best animated movie as of recent. If they’re taking inspiration from that film. We may get something worth waiting for.
Dude... Shrek 3 is like one of the best ones. It was so well put together and that opening to the movie was great! Shrek 3 was arguably the best one because it showed so much life and persona of the characters and their reality!!
I do not want a Shrek 5, because it all ended in the forth movie. Shrel learned his lesson and lives happily in his Swamp with his family (friends if you include them). And the last movie is also called Forever After.
Bringing the fairy godmother is sot of a huge plot hole. If i remember correctly, she burst into bubbles at the end of Shrek 2...which to me says that she is no more.😅
Let's say toy story 5, Shrek 5, frozen 3 and mario movie 2 all came out on the same day, what order are you watching them in, for me it would be toy story, mario, shrek, frozen
I get where you're coming from, but just trying new IPs isn't enough, they also have to be good. Red and Onward were alright, and i agree they didn't deserve HALF the hate they got, but Elemental was mid at best, Wish was.... dogshit, let's face it. Strange world was terrible as well, Encanto did pretty good and got the recognition it deserved!! Raya and the last dragon, on the other hand.... see what i mean?? The bad outweights the good
@@user-to4zl8wf2n why was encanto good? Did they suddenly start trying with encanto and then suddenly stopped with strange world? It’s almost as if this “not trying” claim is bs
One way to always kill a tv series is add a child/baby to the cast....sure the same can be said for movies as well. Ogre babies and dronkeys are cute, but weren't needed or necessary and no doubt the signal to the demise. The fourth was good, don't get me wrong, but still...doom is pending.
Each movie has something for everyone, even if number 3 was probably the worst of all the movies. I'm sure this one will be fun to watch because it's Shrek, its been a long time.
King Harold literally dies in Shrek 3, and Shrek 4 takes place before Shrek 3, so canonically King Harold is dead so if he is back for 5 that basically just proves the series is dead and only here for money.
For anyone denying that this movie is pointless and unnecessary to make because we haven't seen it yet... We don't need to a 5th movie to know it's pointless, _we watched the 4th._ It was a solid movie to end on and we don't have any loose ends to wrap up that would justify another movie and the risk of another one of the 3rd movie being made ruining that is kinda f*cked. The 4th was made to make up for the 3rd, so it HAD a reason to exist. *Currently, **_it's just pointless to make another one man._* And I'm someone who doesn't have anything against sequals. Just the 3rd one already exists, do we REALLY need to risk further ruining the quality of the series...???
