@@smushily_373 lol! That has always bothered me about the Sith. There's this gap between how the Sith act and what their philosophy actually says. @@rodrigomeneguitirodrigues7389we’ll eat look at todays people who embrace full emotions…. Dictators. Stalkers. Killers. Ambitious people which involves killing or enslaving. For some reason, those who fully embrace emotions and don’t practice restraint, cuz the sith code is basically telling you to not restrain yourself, you do more damage and are more prone to be chaotic than someone who holds themselves back. The flaw of both sith and jedi are…. That they are extremes of one side. This is no different than people of today. But the Jedi and sith actualy have power to make the change they want. That’s the real difference. Also try to watch videos which have involves emotional individuals. When angered, they get violent, they attack because they are letting their “EMOTIONS” get the better of them. So people will say the sith are best with emotions…. No, they are not.

But he uses cortosa. He does not win or will not feel he won because he was the most powerful warrior, but because of tricks. Sith and Jedi refuse to use a trick which implies to on and on again your light saber to gain advantage (it's called Trakata). they refuse to use it for different reasons, sith for example consider their power came from passion rather than practicality, so they would be seen as less by using nothing else but their sheer power. Trough history since a jedi consular come out with trakata even sith baned it for their combat "rules", as is was a display of weakness and thus assuming that you were inferior because you needed to resort to a scheme making believe you wouldn't be powerful enough to defeat your enemy. Trakata was so a technique for the weak and I can't remember one Lord of the sith using it. That brings more wood to the fire, and on episode 5 of the acolyte the use of cortosa in a cheap trick comparable to trakata and in my humble opinion, even it may look cool watching the fight, Disney breaks the lore again and I'm really disgusted by it, after all and and so much money (someone made the calculations that 1 minute of the acolyte equals 1 million dollars) Disney can't get writers above the level of trainees. Keep your hate comments inside, this is my opinion and everyone have to one, if I see opposite to mine I may debate them but I'll keep the respect button on. Cheers

@@Maddog-xc2zv an entire platoon of jedi going at a single man is at least as unsportsmanlike as using trakata or relying on cortosis to win. There‘s a point at which not taking advantage of all the means at your disposal becomes incompatible with survival. And a Sith will always choose survival over honour. For a while Darth Bane allowed some sort of insects to cover his skin and feed off him, because that made him impervious to light-sabers and less sensitive to attacks through the Force. If that‘s Sith-like for Darth Bane, how can using Cortosis be wrong from a Sith perspective? Bane’s apprentice, Darth Zannah used Sith alchemy to defeat her master exactly because she was no match for him in combat. Bane himself told her alchemy was her best bet to overcome him one day. Again: How is the use of alchemy to reduce an opponent‘s ability to fight okay when the use of cortosis is not?

You can clearly hear the lightsaber be turned on and off as it pierced her body 3 times. Every apprentice we saw was a special individual. Maul was trained really deep in the dark side, like near-death experience kind of deep. Ventress learned both jedi and sith ways, incorporating both dooku fencing style and jarkai Savage was a deadly warrior enhanced with magik. They all were exceptional in their own game. But Qimir, even compared to those dathomiri, is *really* unorthodox for both jedi and sith. His fighting style is more of a "drunk master" than any studied form, his moves are unpredictable and chaotic, with his anti-mind reading helmet, and energy absorbing + lightsaber-shorting braces (as well as helmet) and a surprising addition in a form of splitsaber. His character really defined by the word "freedom" and "use everything not to die". And as we already predicted from the trailer: every jedi died. Except Sol, but guy has secrets himself, he wouldn't snitch.

Goes to show that before the clone wars started, only a small handful of jedi ever deemed it important to focus on proper lightsaber dueling, jedi like Dooku, Windu and Anakin being prime examples, all three were seriously dedicated to training for an eventuality of facing another saber wielder. Though that whole thing about jedi warriors walking the line of darkness is true with all three. Dooku and Anakin fell (Well with Palps's help of course) while Windu was always walking a very dangerous knife's edge in which vapaad could very easily devolve into original form 7 should he lose control. There were certainly other skilled jedi of that era who also focused on saber dueling, though not quite as obsessively as those 3 did.

We played two parallel campaigns, 5 players in the Dark Side game and 5 players in the Light side game. At one point our paths crossed, and we had to battle. I was playing a Jedi consular, and my friend was playing a Sith warrior. We fought one on one, and even though we both had the same amount of progression he completely demolished me. My character had all kinds of useful skills, from social skills to infiltration skills to various knowledges, as well as powers like Jedi mind trick and force telekinesis. From Kris S. (Channel Owner/Revan Galaxywalker): I really enjoy/like this video, because a lot of fans might not understand why the Jedi of this time/era in galactic history, are so ill-suited to engage even a Sith Apprentice in combat. I believe that part of the truth behind this is that, the best Jedi Lightsaber Fighting Forms focused heavily on Defensive maneuvering/movement-sequences and stances, but certain balanced styles as well as hybrid forms are more effective then others during Lightsaber duels. Personally, I am a long time player of the Knights of the Old Republic games, Original Jedi Knight series (Outcast/Academy), Force Unleashed games, Star Wars Galaxies and SWTOR/The Old Republic online, as well as having played the two recent Jedi games. My experience and knowledge of Legends and Canon, has lead me to believe that the strongest Lightsaber forms for dueling by their own nature are: Soresu, Shien, Djim So, Makashi, Shi-Cho at Master/Kit FIsto level and Niman only when very well trained, as well as, only best, when possibly wielding two separate sabers.

The Jedi are trained in all kinds of combat, but fighting to kill isn’t the primary goal of how they’re trained. For Sith, that’s the only resin they fight.

Some have argued that Palpatine should have taken control of the Republic through other means than he did. The events on Grievous's ship are used as an example of unnecessary risks that could've end his plan prematurely. Without getting into that argument, it should be remembered that it was the war which molded Anakin's combat skills and kept his darker side near the surface while still keeping him in the Jedi Order. Maybe he would've eventually turned, maybe not. But he wouldn't have become the tool that Palpatine needed.

It all depends on how your train and how you're taught everything about the force. I still have high hopes for the Jedi because the Jedi are great. Good. They don't kill her revenge. They don't kill for anger, hatred. The dark side makes you weak. And kills you. Yoda, Mace Windu and many other Jedi have been able to become stronger and powerful with the light side and reach balance. Same like many other Jedi/force users. but relax the sith apprentices always end up bad

@Blue-EyesWhitePrivilege 2 дня назад
Yet another person who just accepts whatever the Jedi say as fact. The Jedi execute people constantly, whether or not it is revenge is decided in the minds of those who do the executing. Countless Jedi kill out of anger or hatred, they just pretend like they don't after the fact. Sol was extremely angry when he was about to execute Qimir, for one example. The dark side produces some of the most powerful warriors in all of Star Wars, beings who can destroy entire planets using the Force. The dark side specifically makes you strong, stronger than nearly any Jedi, it's just a shortcut to that power. It doesn't kill you either, the Living Force is the thing working against you, not the dark side. Greed or blindness kills most Sith. Yoda was barely stronger than Palpatine, and compared to the Legends Sith Palpatine is incredibly weak. Mace Windu also wasn't that strong, he defeated dark side practitioners by turning their own dark side energy back at them, not by actually being stronger than them. You also used the word balance the way the Jedi do. The Jedi believe that balance is only the light side of the Force, and involves the destruction of the dark side and all of its users. Their "balance" is galaxy side genocide of any and all users of the Force who don't follow their religion. Sith apprentices are powerful because they use emotion as power and emotions are powerful. Jedi are weak because they refuse their emotions and hide from them. In Legends Luke Skywalker created the most powerful school of Jedi to ever exist because he allowed them to have feelings and families, and taught them to use their love and desire to protect what they care about as a fuel for their power.

Jedi knights are academic martial artists. They've been vigilant students. They've perfected technique. In the dojo. They've never been punched in the face, in a real fight. All the sith have are real fights. And they might get taught technique later. That's why the sith win.

I think the disparity is because power is THE priority for the Sith, so their training is not "cluttered" with Jedi subjects like learning about the balance of life in the universe, the Cosmis Force, the Living Force, etc. Their focus is only on power, therefore that trait is more pronounced in the Sith.

I think there is something really basic that most people miss, when a Jedi fights they need to keep themselves restrained to avoid falling to the darkside which is hard in a difficult fight because in a fight that darkside strength is right there, we saw it over and over with Anikin in the clone wars animated serises and we saw it when Luke got mad and cut Vader's hand off. This simple truth is the foundation of standard form 7 combat.

like mentioned and to back up his point the only time they picked up anyone was during the early-late mid old republic era for the great jedi/sith wars/civil wars as back then it was numbers vs numbers because they had land. alot of land and that land needs bodies be it for a lowly soldier to a ruler. even with that being said they were still usually stronger then most jedi as even with them taking in a mass amount of sith apprentices and assassins they were still vastle less in number then the jedi and republic forces. fact they lasted for 1000+ years is testament to this fact

The parallels between sith and jedi philosophy is very similar to MMA vs TMA (traditional martial arts). TMA (at one time) tended to be heavily saturated in rituals and philosophy while the MMA is focused on "whatever works" as far as combat wise. However being a good fighter doesn't make you a good (martial artist). Any one can add on to this.

On first thought we tend to assume that a Sith Apprentice should be something equal to a Jedi Padawan. Which might be true for old Sith but not after the rule of two. A rule of two Sith Master is comparable to the likes of a Jedi Grand Master and a few powerful members of Jedi Council. Which means his apprentice has to be able to match or exceed the skills of any regular Jedi Master. Padawans and Jedi Knights would be a piece of cake for him.

Me: Wait, Maul was a teen when he killed Qui-Gon??? (looks it up; Maul was born in 54 BBY, making him roughly 22 years old) Eh, close enough. As an aside, apparently Maul wasn't taken by Sidious until 40 BBY, meaning Maul had only been training for roughly 8 years, which makes it quite impressive for him to kill Jedi Masters.

Even among Jedi masters there are levels to this for example Luminara Unduli is middle Knight tier on par with Ahsoka/Assaj Ventress. Yoda takes Assaj dual sabers from her inspects her weapon, gives it back saying “surrender you should”. Sith apprentice can compete with mid-tier masters. Top level masters would obliterate them.

Everyone likes to think they'd be handed a light saber and be confident in which side of the force they would land on. I personally subscribe to the theory I'd try to be a good Jedi. And fumble it just enough to either get booted or rot. The issue here is my focus would be on defense in the physical, serisu for example appeals to me most heavily even though vaipadd fascinates me beyond end. My personal nature would probably force me to try and train telekinetic combat regularly regardless of aptitude. The idea of being a hands free personal safe zone is too far up my alley. Throw on top of it I'd be more interested in weird force stuff than straight saber combat and I'd probably fit no where in sith culture either. I would most likely be cut down as a rouge Jedi or pass away silently as a dark Jedi that never did anything to draw attention. out of obsession to learn and practice.
