@@TrickyEileen Yes. It’s emphasized because the game has a very strong punishment training system to get you started but what I’ve been seeing with a lot of intermediate and advanced players is the way they do punishment training is very unique. It’s an area that I struggle with and wanted to know from your perspective what’s been the most effective for you.
@@enigmatowles word. I could make a video on it. You probably see so many different approaches from pros because it has to be tailored to you. But I could offer some various options to try. I mix a bunch of approaches simultaneously so I’ll try to explain it. It’s a balance between efficiency, enjoyment, and sustainability
i found that a lot of my tilt is from other sources and i use the game as a projection. i am trying to be more aware of why i feel what i feel when im playing now. especially if my intent is to get better and what that means as a whole.
Tricky I would love to hear more about your experience in health care and if it helped you “git gud” in fighting games. Just curious thoughts from the mind
I’m not gonna lie. I’ve been on the grind to get to Tekken King, but I’ve also been on the grind to improve my place style. And I appreciate you putting out that about bitterness because for the first time in my life, I felt something like that and I feel like this is a sign to take a break from it, but my question is how long a break.?
I totally get where you’re coming from. The grind to Tekken King can be intense, especially when you’re also focused on improving your playstyle. It’s great that you’re aware of the bitterness creeping in-that’s a sign it might be time to step back for a bit. As for how long a break to take, it really depends on how you’re feeling. Sometimes even a few days or a week can make a huge difference, giving you the chance to reset and come back with a fresh perspective. Listen to yourself-when you start feeling that excitement to play again, that’s when you know you’re ready to jump back in. The game will always be there, so take the time you need!
@@TrickyEileen of course.. aside from the t8 specific mechanics mean most your advice applies to virtua fighter, tekken , street fighter and probably other fighting games as well.
hey tricky, first time commenting, been watching your stuff for a while and i havent had the courage to discuss any of your very well articulated content, until now. i personally suffer from a big ego in tekken, i'm even secretive about it to the point of pretending it's not something i deeply care about because i don't want the people i play with to think im trying too hard to win. i mainly play customs with lower skill players and am also stuck at bushin, lacking the motivation to continue grinding ranked. i only play ranked if i have an arbitrarily attainable rank goal and believe i can reach it without reasonable accommodations, implying my laziness and low work ethic. i think maybe i dont want it as bad as other people, but also i don't know if that's just me coping. in tekken 7 i never imagined id reach blue ranks and i only started playing tekken and taking fg's as a whole "seriously" ab 2 years ago, so it's still very much a shock to me that i've been able to improve so much without ever putting that much effort in to get better. granted, i watch a lot of fighting game content, it's the main genre i get recommended on youtube, so it's not a stretch to say ive steeped myself in fighting games. however, i still struggle heavily with the mental and social aspect, when those are the two things i specifically want to get much better at, it's a bit demotivating to play, especially when ive already surpassed my ranked goal. i think toxicity also plays a major role, because i originally saw tekken as an in-depth way to troll people online in 1v1's, which i still somewhat follow and want to grow out of in favor of learning and skill progression, your videos are greatly helping me with that. you provide a very calm and non-toxic environment for players to learn and grow and it's so inspiring to see a genuine content creator focus on a more subtextual side of tekken that isn't talked about as much, especially from someone who has experience in psychology. you are a fgc saint, i sincerely hope you continue to thrive and grow as a channel and as a content creator, i look forward to contributing to more poignant discussions in the future (specifically LGBTQ+ related)! 💙💓🤍💓💙
