What do you all think? Keep the original MASSIVE can or opt for the smaller, lighter and louder Pipewerx? Buy your PipeWerx can here: www.pipewerx.c...
I’ve got a Dominator R on my 02 954 with the baffle removed and it sounds very similar! Deep enough at idle without sounds too much while going up through the revs!
I prefer the stock bazooka, looks more in keeping with the year of the bike. My 954 came with an aftermarket can and the first thing I changed was the end can back to stock.
I don’t mind the look, it’s just too quiet. But have my new Fireblade for the sound, have a look mate ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6s0T37LLEdQ.htmlsi=2cXE8Z2GM_ayvEit
I had the 600 f sport of the same vintage, and was pleased to see you had the powder coated black version as I had the exact same and really matches the colour scheme and frame. Was disappointed you didn’t start it without cam for moto gp style test haha
I tried to buy a 954 2 times and they were sold before I got all the $$$, took it as a sign and got a mint 07’ Triumph Speed Triple 1050 for $2900 w/ 12k miles all original w/ arrow cans lol best deal I ever seen
@@mid.bike.crisis That it is, honestly newer bikes generally have more gizmos etc. But in terms of power, its way more than most riders would ever need. Technology has progressed so much, people forget that bikes from the late 80s onwards are still bloody insane and again, way more power and faster than the vast majority of riders can handle.
I agree with you completely. I own this 2002 954 and a 2024 CBR1000rrr (see in my videos). The 954 is more engaging due to lack of rider aids. The new blade is ridiculously quick, it’ll do 100mph in first gear but the 954 is more of a riders bike. You have to think about why you’re doing whereas the new Blade, you can just rip it and it corrects your mistakes.
OEM silencers are one of the first things to get marked on most bikes, because they are so BIG. Keeping it in bubble wrap when the bike is being used is a good idea.
There are lots of reasons why the 929/954 are not particularly good bikes, but the unmappable ECU it has is one of the most restrictive. Change any part of the OEM exhaust, and it'll very likely run lean.
I agree with you completely and since making this video I’ve reinstalled the OEM exhaust. I’ve decided to keep the bike completely standard as it’s becoming a little bit of a show bike and I want to keep it as original as possible. I do have my new Fireblade for the raw sound that I am looking for.
I have the same PipeWerx can on my fzs 1000, much nicer sound than the original and some pops and bangs on overrun. Also much lighter than the original as well
