My Great Grandfather was murdered in his own home because he refused to comply with his new comunist masters in Russia so many years ago. My Grandfather escaped and helped many others to do the same. He warned me when I was a boy that the Canadian government was set up to have an easy comunist takeover. I didn't understand him then...but I sure do now!!!

Most people don't realize communism hasn't worked because of capitalist interventions and heavy pressures from outside nations. Latin American nations like Chile had their democratically elected president overthrown and replaced by a dictator because the president had socialist views or they had socialist programs which most of the time worked. And cuba has a poor population because of a 60 year embargo that has the goal of starving and destroying Cuba which is still going. Russia before the Soviet union was a backwards, feudal nation which was looked down upon by modern nations until the Soviets modernized it (note after Stalin Russia never had famine which were common). The Paris commune was drowned in blood when they marched towards the french soldiers not trying to fight them but assuming they would join them which served as a reminder that lowering your guard against anti leftists would lead to Communism's destruction. I could go on but I know most people won't be able to argue these so just know that any "argument" against socialism like this are biased and inaccurate

You didn't do the "bad things". This "we" crap has to go. You need to reject all the insidious "we"'s. No one is a "we". May as well put "we humans" before every atrocity ever done. It would be just as accurate. In any society, there are always good and bad people, the smart and the stupid ones. There were plenty of Germans who did NOT go along with the bad stuff, and many were executed for it. And if you compare the atrocities of Japan to Germany, then German's look like a Sunday school class by comparison. But the same applies there: Many Japanese people did not go along. It's always a minority who commit the atrocities, then everyone get's blamed, by using "we".
@samuelzuleger5134
@samuelzuleger5134 2 года назад
It's actually pretty simple when you put it this way: People are greedy and lazy. They're greedy because they want as much as they can get. They're lazy because they want it for as little effort as possible. The moment you say, "everyone gets the same, no matter what" is the moment the laziness kicks in and people stop working. When a farmer is told they have to give up most of their food, they hide enough for themselves then just say "bad harvest." I have seen countless college students fail a test because they did zero work then demand a better grading curve...and they get it. This incentivizes hard workers to NOT WORK. Why bother if your result will be the same. Now, throw in a central party that dictates all parts of the economy, and you soon see a central party that is gluttonous while the rest of the country starves. You usually end up back to the social class structures socialism claims to end because you centralize all power and a few greedy people are able to take over.

We lag behind in almost everything. Is our public education system number 1? Not even close. Is our health care number 1 and accessible to all. Your dreaming we don’t break the top 10 in any stats. I don’t believe that in more socialized countries such as England all the way to Sweden and Holland that everyone does get the same or promotes laziness. Their governments though support a socialized economic system and I guarantee the wealth gap is no where as bad as in the USA. I believe that communism and capitalism are two sides of the same coin. One work by fear and power and capitalism works by greed and power. Both doom a large segment of their society. Where in countries that practice capitalism along with strong socialized principals to protect the lower class is a better system. It’s not ignorance nor supporting lazy people. It’s about people caring for the least of citizens I understand having a different view is dangerous now a days. We are slowly becoming a one idea one way and one though united people and I blame both parties, Republican and Democrats only allow one thought on idea and it better be what is the company line. In August 2017 Trump’s sanctions made it illegal for the Venezuelan government to obtain financing from the US which was devastating for two reasons: all the Venezuelan governments’ outstanding foreign currency bonds are governed under New York state law; and one of the Venezuelan government’s major assets, the state-owned CITGO corporation, is based in Texas. The sanctions also blocked CITGO from sending profits and dividends back to Venezuela (which had been averaging about $ 1 billion USD per year since 2015). In regards to Sweden (where I am from) (references below) We're not fully socialists, hence why we are not as shitty as we could have been. However, the things that are actually socialized, and owned by the state or commonly owned by the people, are public transport, Electricity, schools, healthcare, pension and, police are not so good, or about to become shittier. (I'll add the gas price to this list as it is primarily tax we pay for it. 1. We now have frequent power outs and > 850% increase in electricity due to downsizing nuclear and relying on solar/wind (which work very badly during winter. a) almost no sun hours b) nor wind in the winter. (we now are forced to burn millions of liters of OIL to keep southern part of sweden warm. 2. Criminality (gun violence, rape, robbery, break-ins, has been increasing in the last 20, but primarily the last 5-10 years. (This with the lowest number of police/capita in the EU and extremely high immigration) 3. We lose ranking in the OECD rapport every year for how "good" our healthcare system is. (almost the highest cue-times in the EU, and Mid-wife crises are the latest and most acute problem right now. Although it needs to be said it is still fairly good compared to some countries even if the trend is bad (but with the highest taxes in the world it is to be expected to have a proper "base-line" care. 4. School performance is losing ranking in PISA (to the level the state decided to cheat on them) 5. Proper public transport is not present all over the country and where it is, it is extremely bad in terms of price, quality, and ability to be on time. Second most expensive public transport (despite it being state-run and we having the highest taxes in the world. 6. Highest or among the highest gas prices in the world (fluctuates between the top) 7. Although the pension system is "ok" from a quick look compared to other countries in terms of absolute numbers, but relative to the cost of living in Sweden compared to e.g. Greece or Spain, or the eastern block we are truly not doing so well. This has left many pensioners who have worked their whole life close to poverty levels - around USD 1350 on average according to google, where electricity alone can increase with USD > 300- 600 during cold months. 8 Unemployment is increasing fast, especially among immigrants. (before corona) On top of all those facts, trying to say what you want in a public or at work is a problem, not illegal as of yet, but as an example, raising concern about the highest immigration in the world/capita, was viewed a being a nazi just a few years ago, luckily it has now changed, but with stated problems above as a price. Then add extreme high tax on everything, wokism in UNI or super woke bias state-run media as flavour to all that and you have a very weird country to live in for those who want to just mind their own business and work hard and enjoy life. Personally, I am moving to Switzerland within a year, in order to feel safer, and help my parents with money, which I basically can't now, despite earning significantly above average, due to progressive tax. A marginal tax of 55% + employment fee (which my company deducts and ends up paying around 70% taxes on my earnings. 1. www.thelocal.se/20211220/swedish-electricity-prices-soar-to-new-all-time-high/ 2. ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/products-eurostat-news/-/DDN-20190104-1bra.se/bra-in-english/home/news-from-bra/archive/news/2020-09-30-difficult-to-compare-rape-statistics-in-european-countries.htmlbra.se/bra-in-english/home/news-from-bra/archive/news/2020-09-30-difficult-to-compare-rape-statistics-in-european-countries.htmlbra.se/bra-in-english/home/news-from-bra/archive/news/2020-09-30-difficult-to-compare-rape-statistics-in-european-countries.htmlbra.se/bra-in-english/home/news-from-bra/archive/news/2020-09-30-difficult-to-compare-rape-statistics-in-european-countries.htmlbra.se/bra-in-english/home/news-from-bra/archive/news/2020-09-30-difficult-to-compare-rape-statistics-in-european-countries.html 3. www.oecd.org/fr/els/systemes-sante/graph-of-the-month.htm 4. www.nationalreview.com/the-agenda/sweden-has-education-crisis-it-wasnt-caused-school-choice-tino-sanandaji/ 5. www.statista.com/statistics/275438/public-transport-cost-cities/ 6 www.globalpetrolprices.com/gasoline_prices/ 7.sweden.se/life/society/elderly-care-in-sweden 8 ednh.news/eu-reports-wide-disparities-in-unemployment-across-bloc/

Note too, that it's the US Navy in the first instance and the deployable Army and Air Force that keep the world from even more international chaos than there is; the Scandinavians haven't that burden and consequent cost. • Also, if everyone owns the means of production and everyone is responsible, no one really owns them and no one is responsible. So bureaucrats end up making the decisions that socialist theory says we should make together. • "Unique American belief in limited government." Well, it's becoming less limited all the time. I love it when Congress does nothing; I wish they'd undo some of what they've already done. And executive orders are intended to instruct the bureaucracy on details of carrying out legislation--to fill in the blanks, so to speak--they should never apply to private citizens; that’s dictatorship. • Progressive taxation is supported by the economic principle of diminishing marginal utility. The last dollar I get is less important to me than the first ones. That is, to tax a higher income at a higher rate may result in the same degree of perceived deprivation.

Also you have to take into account that Denmark is a tiny and a rather homogenous country, and not a massive big federation of many different states, like USA. So it doesn't make sense to compare the systems between such massively different countries. It would make more sense if Denmark was compared to only one state within USA, and other US states would have their own laws, taxation etc., without the US government having any say on them. When a Danish is paying rather high income taxes to the "system", they feel it benefits people close to them. That same does not happen in a vast federal country like USA. The ruling class in the states are very skilled in scaring the masses about socialism. At the same time they practice socialism for the very rich. Wall Street gets bailed out, billions are sent upwards to the big corporations during COVID and the working class gets crumbs. That’s why there is such a large disparity in economic status. And there seems to be little change on the horizon. The government is in the pockets of big money and they don’t police themselves. Look at Pelosi, she’s so greedy for more money she can’t see the conflict of interest in congress being able to day trade on companies that they make laws for give contracts to etc., And the rich are insatiable. The problem with socialism is this: Who contributes to all the 'free stuff'? 'Free healthcare', 'free college', etc isn't 'free'. Money doesn't just get printed and redistributed. (Well, if you do that, you get inflation.) The money comes from those who work. Capitalism encourages people to work - in order to survive and thrive. The more money you make (via capitalism), the more you contribute to the overall income (by buying more goods and services, which pays for the salaries of others who work). Humans need to have goals to feel productive and happy. And overcoming hardship builds character. Otherwise, you don't grow and mature. Socialism promotes dependance on others and yes, entitlement. If I'm get what I want without working hard for it, why bother giving my best? I can coast through life. But that doesn't lead to innovation, creativity, or striving for greatness. Capitalism encourages these behaviors.

I am from one of the small European Nordic countries that are considered as "socialist" by the American leftists. What many people fail to realize is that comparing small countries like Sweden, Denmark or Finland to the whole of US is that - USA is a federation, the aforementioned countries are not - the size difference does matter It is MUCH easier to set up a working welfare system (with high taxes) in a small and rather homogeneous country like the aforementioned small Nordic countries, than a federation like USA with 50 separate states. Swedish people don't pay high taxes for the Finnish welfare system, and vice versa. So setting up a similar welfare system on the whole of USA is probably quite impractical. It might work state to state, and that would actually be an interesting test how states with higher taxes, better welfare etc. would compete with states with lower taxes, more incentives to start your own business etc. From experience I can already tell you that the "needy" people would gather to the states with a better welfare, while the business-owners etc. would go to the states which are less hostile to them. Also, the high taxation and welfare system is not without problems even in the aforementioned Nordic "heavens", where I also live. You just need to look at the rate of government debt increasing in Finland, or what happened to e.g. Greece. That is the reason why e.g. Sweden has made several adjustments in the past to their work laws, taxation etc. in the past, which are _against_ the socialist ideals. It paid off to Sweden to become more "capitalistic" and less "socialistic". They realized they weren't quite on the right path.

@@tomasmccauley569 So to get further in the discussion, we should try to come up with a common definition, what makes a country "socialist". Then again, before that Finland had right-wing government, so was Finland an overly capitalistic country back then? It seems to some "socialist" country seems to mean nothing more but that there are high(-ish) taxes, and an extensive, government-funded, welfare and healthcare system. I think that is too low-bar definition. Is Sweden a socialist country? A nice thought in paper that doesn't fully work in large scale. I was in school, so i spend an hour and was able to get a few.. Communism always starts good, take from rich and distribute to the poor.. what happens when there is nothing to take anymore? when production on everything drops... then everyone is poor.. except those in government positions.. In capitalism, 1 percent are very rich, 90 percent a "middle class" (its obviously a scale as well) , and another 9 percent poor.. (approximately). .. in communism, you still have 1 percent who are rich (government), but the problem is, other 99% are dirt poor.. just think, a person in the west who does not work, can go to the store and get bananas (food stamps, etc).. in soviet union, average person (for example Engineer) could not get bananas.. and eating bread and potatoes gets old after a while.. trust me.

The USSR was the first attempt at a communist state ever. They made mistakes, many of them proved disastrous. But they also achieved a lot, they managed to eradicate unemployment, they went from semi-feudal society to and industrial super power in just a few decades, they had free education, they got rid of extreme poverty, they provided free healthcare etc. But in the end the mistakes they made, the economic isolation imposed on them, the outright invasions they suffered early in their history and the fact that they never got rid of the socioeconomic classes in their society caused their downfall. In the end they just wound up with a different flavour of capitalism, where the government became the bourgeoisie. Soialist experiments that came after them learned from some of their mistakes and made their own attempts at socialism/communism, and now we should again learn from these previous attempts when implementing our own socialism in the future. We have to keep an open mind and be willing to change and iterate, it's the only way we will get anywhere when trying to implement something as complex as this. You can't get it right on the first or even seventh try, but you get better and eventually you will figure it out. One thing is clear though, capitalism is unstable, destructive and violent. We can and we need to do better for the future.
@investing4everyonevideos303
@@challe535 Have you lived under communism in USSR? because i did. I won't go into details, but let me answer your very first statement. About unemployment. People who worked in USSR were actually poorer than those who did not work in the west.. do you realize that? under capitalist system, there is super rich (1 percent) , there is middle class which is 70-80 percent, and there is those who don't do that well. with only 1-2 percent been really, really poor. Under communism, there is still 1 percent. those who are in power.. that does not go away, but the rest, 99% are poor. does not matter if you working in deli, or if you are an engineer. everyone else is poor. So the fact that everyone had a job, does not mean anything, if it takes 2 week salary to buy pair of boots. Here in the west, even those who don't work, get housing, get clothing, food , etc.. have TV, may even have a car.. that was a dream for most employed people under communism. if you truly believe communism is better, why not move to a communist country.. millions move from communist countries to capitalist. not the other way around.. maybe they know something? but if you truly believe what you saying, go ahead and find out for yourself if its really better.
@challe535
@challe535 Год назад
@@investing4everyonevideos303 You are missing my point, I said we should learn from previous mistakes when implementing socialism in the future. I said the USSR economy quickly devolved into state capitalism because they failed to realize the driving mechanism behind economic class. They thought if they could just distribute wealth and power to the poeple they could get rid of classes. But in doing so they set themselves (as the distributors) apart from others and created class divisions that way. My point was that we should learn from our mistakes and try to do better than the flawed system we have, capitalism is not the pinnacle and maybe not communism either but it is better at deliviring people with a decent life accross the board and reducing inequalities in society that lead to tensions and violence. Just because you have lived through something is not decisive evidence for your view on it. It is not true that here in the West those who do not work get housing, food etc. If you are talking about the welfare systems, then I hate to break it to you but those are rapidly being dismanteled after their introduction during the post world war period. The welfare system is an attempt at trying fix capitalism without getting rid of the underlying contradictory capitalist class structure and the mechanisms that create it.
@investing4everyonevideos303
@@challe535 the reason every single communism attempt ended up exactly the same, is because its against human nature.. i will explain: 1) why would someone try to be more productive, invent anything, put in long hours, if in the end, he will get paid same as someone who does nothing? thats why there are so many inventions come from the WEST, not communist countries. In communism, they literally invent jobs, just to keep someone occupied, even if its not required.. thats why production per person was super low compared to the west. 2) people always like power, so those who in charge of distribution (someone has to be in charge of money), etc, will use that power to benefit themselves, and pay out their friends. . again, human nature. and they will destroy anyone who is in their way. Again, and I am not been mean or smart a$$. if you think communism is better, then try moving to a communist country of your choice and you will find out for yourself, if its true or not. But remember, there is a reason why millions and millions of people run away from Communism to capitalism. and not the other way around. That fact alone says everything you need to know about comparing the two systems. Even China got where it is today because of capitalism. Capitalism lifted 100's of millions of people out of poverty in just few generations. They were employed by western companies and sold to western consumers. Look what china was like 40 years ago.. As for welfare system. I personally know someone who came here from Somalia 13 years ago, had 7 kids, by different fathers. Never worked . lives in a house, and owns a car. That stuff does not happen in communism. She literally lives better than 99% of people under communism.

I agree with the majority of the points, but there are definitely some MAJOR problems with our modern form of capitalism in America. We’ve incentivized squeezing as much labor out of people as possible while driving down wages, to the point that most millennials have accepted they can never retire and probably will not own a home. We need to restructure in a way that eliminates cronyism, monopolizing crucial services like social media, and eliminating the ability for wealthy individuals to have such a powerful influence in politics. This doesn’t mean I support socialism or communism, quite the opposite. We need equality of opportunity, prosperity, and freedom for individuals of every background and race.

Interesting points. I don't belive that most millenials can never retire nor own a home. You need to work, and not pick a useless degree. You can retire and you will own a home, but will it be as good as you want it to be? You have to prove yourself then. I agree that welath is not evenly distributed. There may be things that can be done about that, but it's not an easy matter. What you can do, is pull yourself up by the bootstraps and change your own life. I do wish there was an easy way to make everyone's life better, but never in history has there been anything like that. It is on the individual to work, as each sees fit.
