Follow me on Twitter: / antiztheman Please Subscribe: ru-vid.com/show-UC9ST... Why would Sonic foolishly throw the Chaos Emeralds away? I think I know a good reason why. Sonic the Hedgehog is owned by Sega
and in sonic frontiers when sonic travels to ares island and loses them he said nah that's cool I didn't want this to be easy anyway, also again we saw sonic getting a little bit corrupted by the emeralds in sonic frontiers since he always wanted to find the emeralds made him think he is doing something right while he is keeping his friends unprotected.
Sonic, unlike Knuckles and Shadow who were born into it, has earned his rank and a connection with the chaos emeralds. Because of his strong heart, he can use the emeralds for good, rather than being taken over. It's shown that people have become corrupt just by coming into contact with the Master Emerald, but Sonic isn't. Chip has also noted that the reason Sonic doesn't go insane and possessed at night during the period of Dark Gaia and the splitting of the Earth is because of his strong heart, and his ability to hold on to who he is.
In Sonic X he is finally done in by anger, even if the fake emeralds were the reason, only showing what would happen with real ones. Even eggman in that episode told him to snap out of it
Well I would not say he was not born into it. He was prophesied and wrote about for thousands of years with enough information about him for one of the greatest scientists of all time to make a copy of him. So sonic was born to use the emeralds, but I do agree that he has that loving heart, and that makes have a stronger and more powerful connection to emeralds due to the power of the heart that he has that fuels the emeralds more then anyone else will ever have in the series.
@Duck I think thats an interesting concept tho. I kinda been thinking about this and even wrote notes down about it. I think Chaos Energy shouldn't be easily tapped into as u see sometimes in the games (Looking at Mecha Sonic). Chaos is inherently discord and well chaos lol. The concept of "taming Chaos" has only showed up in name and that is Chaos Control. Its an oxymoron. Characters that have a connection with Chaos Energy (Sonic, Shadow, and Knuckles are the main examples that makes sense lore wise) should learn how to organize the unorganized to achieve greater power. How much Chaos can the person take? Fleetway Super Sonic is one of the good consequences of failing to do so. Being ironically controlled by the Chaos itself. Another consequence is random disruptions of Chaos power making the characters abilities unreliable, maybe outright rejection of their Chaos Energy connection, being reduced to Chaos Energy in its purest form. They sound harsh but would make for intense conflict and proper stakes.
I knew that the classics had stories(eggman burns down woodzone for example and that the 7th Emerald was sealed on the Island). But I never knew it was sealed because the emeralds ruined a society in not even a day. That stuff is unexpectedly dark, even for pre-2010 sonic.
True words. Games are about challenge. Not just to be a sandbox without sand. Yet there are people who find endless satisfaction wasting their whole life in such an empty box, to feel powerful, thinking they're above everyone else and look impressive. a.k.a The morons who are still on old gen games hacking them online. They might as well be playing offline. But they wouldn't find any satisfaction in that. It's all about the meaningless attention they get from other people. They're the people who should be living in alleys screaming at people passing by. But thankfully mom hasn't kicked them out the basement. Ok that's my angry rant. Hope it entertained. c-ya.
@@DlcEnergy People play games for different reasons. Games don't *_have_* to be a challenge. Some people may value challenge or play games for the challenge, but that's not everyone. I don't really get what you're getting at. Something about people with histrionic personality disorder using hacks online? I feel like that's a really... Well, it's a strawman argument. Anyway, some people play games as an outlet for creativity, for immersing one's self in another world and exploring what it has to offer, as a sandbox for orchestrating absurd situations, for competing with others, for the feeling of molding a world how one desires, or just to have something to mess about with. Being tested and challenged is only one of a myriad of purposes gaming can serve.
I also recall lore wise, That when the emeralds have finished their purpose. (Such as helping Sonic in the final battles against his enemies.) The Emeralds would then scatter apart. It seems to hint that since every Sonic game always has the emeralds separate from each other.
This is kinda incorrect as Sonic 3 & Knuckles starts immediately after sonic 2 and Sonic is forced out of super form by knuckles and knux steals the emeralds from him
Mocking_Bird Unlike the dragon balls, which are useless unless all of them are together the chaos emeralds seem like they’re often used to increase an individuals power, like how chaos transforms every time he absorbs one or the supersonic case.
Matthew Ryan Oh yeah! Or how Tails powers his X Tornado with the 4th Chaos Emerald. I kinda forgot about that fact. And how the Chaos Emeralds have positive and negative energy and the user can decide which energy to control.
@@TheRoomforImprovement Or how each time Emerl receives a chaos emerald, he becomes more intelligent and stronger, developing himself to become his own kind person.
In the canon, the emeralds simply shoot out across the globe after their power has been used. It doesn't explain every case where Sonix can turn super mid-stage, but works well enough to explain why he usually doesn't have them from the start in every game that comes after one where he got all the emeralds.
You do know that Emeralds are like the Dragon Balls; once they're gathered together and used for a purpose, provided they don't lose all their energy (as seen in Unleashed), they scatter and dissappear, and the hunt resets
@@Zimran03 yes it is.In the end of sonic 1 they scatter. They are only deactivated in unleash because darkg gia uses the negative energy of the emrald like chaos does in sonic adventure 1.
Sonic gets rid of them out of necessity then. Relying on that power to bail you out of every situation is bound to bite you in the tail. That's another thing I like about Sonic. Hes a bit snarky, but he relies on his own power unless the emeralds are absolutely needed.
@@mohwe1007 He didn't need it in Generations. Back in Adventure, Sonic didn't have the boost ability. In Generations he uses it to walk on water easily.
It should also be noted that while no-longer canon to the games, According to the O.G Sonic Bible, The Chaos Emeralds were the gems that Dr. Ovi Kintobor used to hold all the evil in the world... until the machine he was containing them with back-fired and turned him into Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
Actually, this is not the og version. This is the american version. The real version of the sonic bible was the japanese version which is completely different.
My two guesses were always that 1. Having that much power in one place is dangerous, and the world is safer if they're isolated 2. Having one person in control of all of them for too long upsets the natural order of things, and Sonic "I frequently risk my life rescuing woodland creatures" just wouldn't have that, so he voluntarily lets them go at the end of each adventure. The choice part is important, as it explains why the emeralds disappear only at the end, not after each time you use them within the levels of the game. Thanks for adding the lore! I wasn't aware of the echidnas' involvement.
The deadly six should've been just like that. Choas emerald that transform into demons that represent the seven deadly sins to represent the negative effects of emeralds. The seventh one could be the final boss where he/she will have the abilities from the past choas demon. So much potential.
The emeralds transforming into demons? Not a bad idea. I just don't know how each of them can be different from each other. Power-wise, they're all the same with unique colors.
Did anybody actually notice the Deadly Six resemble the Chaos Emeralds colour wise? Minus the seventh, they do make a match. Zavok - Red Zik - Blue Zeena - Green Zomom - Yellow Zazz - Purple Zor - Grey What you said does kind of back that up.
Actually, that is a good idea for a backstory for them. Evil creatures born from improper use of chaos energy and shaped as counterparts to the chaos emeralds to show what could happen if another person was only interessted with the dark energy of the emeralds, as their powerspectrum is neutral at base. F*ck, we just discovered a way to make the pretty lame bad endings of the classic sonic and sonic advance-games retroactively meaningful. If eggman gets the emeralds, then he will only serve to create new monsters that will be his downfall(Assuming he would not do the same thing to earth as he did to Liittle planet. that is kinda bad on its own admittedly)
I feel this is not quite true, I feel like in Sonic Adventure it was established that Chaos Emeralds respond to emotions and positive and negative energy. If somebody positive has them they shouldn't be a danger, not with someone familiar with chaos energy. People who fell to ruin used them for greed, Chaos used them for vengence. I think the chaos emeralds have something of a will of their own, they do what they want including, potentially, disappearing.
I always had something of a headcanon that the Emeralds scatter when you use them too much, sort of like the Dragon Balls. Sonic can use them to breeze through levels and keep them, but after, say beating Eggman's big bad robot or whatever god he's awoken at the end of each game, they've expended too much power. So, to recharge, they retreat to a safe place, whether in remote regions of the world or in special pocket universes (Special Stages) made for them. There's probably some holes in that theory in one or more of the games that explain how they work, but it's the one that makes the most sense to me.
The irony of this video is that Sonic is always hogging the emeralds to himself after Sonic 06. I mean think about how often Sonic uses them to enter his Super Form compared to Shadow, Knuckles, & even Silver. Amy's never been given the chance to even try to use them despite being in the series since 1993. Normally the Chaos Emeralds scatter either when ordered to (Sonic X Season 3) or when they feel they've been overused. Although a skilled user of the Chaos Emeralds like Sonic or Shadow can probably prevent their scattering. Each of the Chaos Emeralds is likely sentient, although after nearly 30 years so much about them still remains unknown & it's unlikely we'll ever get answers with how the series has been since 2010. I wonder if the reason Sonic has been out of character the entire decade has anything to do with the Emeralds corrupting him? It would be nice to see characters other than Sonic use them again, or to be able to play as several characters in fully 3D stages after such a long time.
@@HYPERxSONICxFANx2012 Sega of America you mean, who never should have been left in charge of the Sonic Series the past decade. Sega of Japan's the better Sega that still cares about Lore, although Yakuza is their priority over everything else.
@@WaterKirby1994 You realize that SEGA of Japan is the actual problem, though? They were the ones marketing Sonic as a cutesy mascot. Not to mention, to them, Sonic 1 was nothing more than a tech demo for the Mega Drive. Sonic's success is due to Tom Kalinske. Yuji Naka himself said that the reason for redesigning Sonic during Sonic Adventure's development is because SOJ was pushing for Sonic to be cute. They didn't share his vision. Plus, SOJ at one point didn't want Sonic as the mascot anymore. Remember that Sonic isn't as popular in Japan.
@@sonicstar917 Yes Sega of Japan wants Sonic to be cuter, although that's not the actual problem. The real problem is that SoJ doesn't really do anything to help the Sonic Series. As a result Western Writers who never should have been hired to begin with named Pontac & Graff reduced the series to a parody of itself. The Sonic Series could have easily been made marketable to Japan if SoJ actually tried to do that. An alternate universe manga with a Japanese Highschool setting for example. Or just letting us play as Cream in actual games again, because of how popular she is among Japanese fans of the series.
@dorim ae It was SEGA of America who helped finalize Sonic's design. I now remember seeing the initial design that Naoto Ohshima had for Sonic was more feral, even having fangs. Without SOA, Sonic would never have become the icon he is. Also, while Naka may not have cared for the American cartoons, Ohshima has actually expressed that he liked SatAM in particular.
It's also implied that the Emeralds themselves intentionally warp themselves away, maybe to recharge or something, or maybe it's just like what the Sonic 2 JAP manual said: the gods sealed them away, maybe every time the characters are done with them or overuse them, the gods are who seal them away all the time, either to recharge them in their resting places (such as the Master Emerald Shrine) or to keep them away temporarily, maybe both. Also yh, the Emeralds seem to have sentience or at least it's implied, maybe that sentience is the soul of the gods or something.
@@charactersin-depth3472 Well throughout the series, the Chaos Emeralds seem to so show some bit of sentience, even when not looking that up you can tell by their behavior that they may be sentient, and notice how the Master Emerald showed Knuckles a vision of where the Emerald Shards are in SA1, if the Master Emerald has some form of sentience, why not the Chaos Emeralds to. Either way, while I'm not the only who believes this, it's all just theory!
In Sonic Pocket Adventure, after defeating the secret final boss we see them teleport away once Sonic gets out of Super Sonic, they also did this in Sonic 1 so maybe they have the power to teleport themselves and create new special stages
I'm having trouble wording it, but I believe Sonic is also just too laidback to keep them. He doesn't really see a need. He just wants to live his life. Collecting them when needbe is fine, and he has the speed and the patience to do so. He doesn't desire to have ultimate power all the time. Edit: Oh yeah, other comments have also pointed out that it may be canon that they scatter of their own accord after being used.
No, not exactly...It's more or less them making sonic look cool and also not confusing people who haven't previously seen super sonic...It also shows people that hey maybe if you get those emeralds again you can turn into super sonic. I know it's weird but whatever
@@theoneandonlysessy no it's not the good ending of sonic 2 literally shows you sonic holding on to chaos emeralds especially tails who in that same ending flew the tornado to see if sonic survived the explosion of the death egg super sonic That ending canonical leads to the intro of sonic 3
Well, you failed to mention that Sonic does keep them going from Sonic2 to Sonic3 and he had them at the beginning of Unleashed (tho he could've gone fetch them before invading Eggman's fleet). Also in Adventure after defeating Chaos 6, he leaves them with Knuckles for him to protect. It's a nice way of seeing it, but I'd say most of the times is the Emeralds going away on their own rather than Sonic letting them go
That would make alot of sense, but you could make the argument that Sonic went to search for the Emeralds before going to face Eggman in Unleashed and the Beginning of Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Also sonic had them at the start of sonic unleashed and look how that turned out. World was shattered thanks to eggman trapping sonic and used there power to almost destroy the world.
G.Master: Lord of the G-Force i know but than you see the risk for keeping them. Eggman knows sonic has them and will expecting sonic to bring it to him. All he has to do is set a trap for sonic and steal the emeralds.
@@raimyonlinewarrior236 He seemed shocked that he did have them when Sonic transform. I would chalk that up to Sonic being too relaxed. Kinda like how Goku got shot by one of Frieza's minions in Resurrection F.
@@g.masterlordoftheg-force4770 if Eggman only blew Sonic after reviving Dark Gaia while keeping the emeralds, things would had been different, MORE difficult for Sonic 🤔
also, if sonic always had the emeralds with him somehow, all it would take is a single trap to get him down and lose all of the emeralds at once, kind of like what happened at the beginning of unleashed
I think the backstory of the Civilization of Sonic 2 regarding the Emeralds was the Owl Tribe that was later adapted into the movies. I remember reading back in the day about said owls.
Funny, I remember seeing an old flash video of Sonic Riders in 4 minutes by Roger, and in the beginning of the flash, he poked fun of Sonic and his friends for not storing the chaos emeralds away in a safe place so evil won't find it again.
@@whatdidyoujustcallme6242 It does, but what I'm saying is as shown at the end of Sonic 2, Sonic had turned Super, but at the start of Sonic 3, Sonic was no longer Super, and then Sonic turned Super, and Knuckles then knocked the Chaos Emeralds out of him.
Not really, since there were scenarios where they were used and did not scatter. Especially unleashed. And we know that they can still scatter after getting their power drained, as perfect chaos drained half their power and they still yeeted into all directions.
@@lpfan4491 You do realise that just proves that they're like Dragon Balls? Because the same thing happened when the Dragon Balls were drained of power. And Chaos simply threw them away next to him not all over the planet like they usually are xP
@@spacethegamer6426 And you do realize that Sonic kept the emeralds beyond sonic2? I just took unleashed and adventure as one example of how they sometimes scatter, but not always. And they do not scatter that far off from each other. When they were in soleanna, all of them were in soleanna. When they were near Station square, all of them were somewhere around there. Tails even says in adventure2 that they stay somewhat close together.
My headcannon this entire time is that the Chaos Emeralds are like the Dragon Balls; once it has served its purpose, it will disperse and spread out throughout the world to be collected again.
I personally used to think 2 things 1. Sonic and Tails used to just hide the emeralds after use. 2. After Sonic Adventure I thought that maybe Tikal is the one always scattering them. So that what happened to her people wouldn't repeat itself.
Sonic is an adventurous thrill-seeker, the Chaos Emeralds would make his adventures too easy, the real question is "Why would he keep them?" It would take all of the thrill out of his battles with Eggman and make him and his friends a target for anyone who might want them.
I had a potential story rewrite about the chaos emeralds (in hopes of if I ever got to work with Sega I could just reboot the franchise) but there's a reason why they're the CHAOS emeralds and not the ORDER emeralds. With chaos yes you do have the energy to do something good but eventually you'll do just as much bad, they're a unpredictable factor that should be explored more.
This actually makes so much more sense if you think about Sonic 3 In Sonic 1, he loses the emeralds after they disappear at the end In Sonic 2, he collects them again And In Sonic 3, he starts off with the chaos emeralds, as shown in the intro, most likely from when he collected them in Sonic 2. Sonic had kept the chaos emeralds after Sonic 2 because he didn’t know the danger they held because this was before Sonic Adventure, where he learns about the Echidna tribe and their chaotic greed He’s even seen basically abusing their power in the intro for Sonic 3, he probably still had good intentions but he may have eventually grown attached to that power, if Knuckles wasn’t there to stop him
I have a theory for why sonic never seems to keep the chaos emeralds together. Could it be that the chaos emeralds must chaos control back to the special stages to absorb more chaos energy to keep them recharged?
Id like to think that sonic just returns the emeralds to knuckles after every game lol (except for sonic 2 because sonic hasnt met knuckles yet and in the beginning of sonic 3 he still had the emeralds)
I know this is two years later, and I haven't checked the comments so idk if somone said this already. But just with Sonics charecter he'd never keep the emeralds, he's all about Freedom and being a helping hand, not necessarily a hero. If he kept the Emeralds on him, he's be burdened with unnecessary responsibilities that he would've never wanted because he wants to be well... Free. He'll help you because he's a good person, but he won't completely obligate himself to do so, games like 06 kind of show that. He's helping the princess, mostly because he Knows Eggman is up to no good, but he dosen't really care about the situation deep down until it spirals into somone even he can't fix alone.
Not sure if it's Canon but if I remember from sonic X the reason they were Separated is because the power of all the emeralds creates a negative reaction to each other and after a little while it will adapt but I don't know fully
Oh, so it's kinda like why Thanos got rid of the Infinity Stones after he was done re-balancing the population with them. "After that, they served nothing but temptation!"
Ever noticed that after Generations, the emeralds are never used at all? I'm not counting Mania as I really consider it as it's own thing, at least when connected to Forces... (Face palm). Sonic Colors started that trend, then Lost World, the Boom Universe, and Forces (I don't know about Sonic 4 eps 1 and 2 as Mania is now considered the true Sonic 4). Why would Sega not use their own gems they created for Sonic and the gang if they keep introducing more powerful jewels and creatures against them? They need to serve a purpose again, as they should've continued. Sonic Forces for example, Eggman could've use the Chaos Emeralds and Master Emerald to power his weapon factories, which gives some character's reason to join the cause like Knuckles, as he's the guardian of the Master Emerald and can help Sonic use his powers to stop the Phantom Ruby. It's such a dumb move they didn't take advantage over something that's a tradition before Color's started off. Speaking of which, Sonic Colors on the DS at least have a Super Sonic fight against the Nega Mother Wisp, but why not the Wii version? The DS was more focus on being story than the Wii, which again is pretty stupid not to have. The less said of Lost World's story, the better as I consider it not canon, despite Forces destroys my belief of Zavok.
After reading these comments and my own thought process i believe the reason Sonic doesn't keep them is that their power can be taken away like the into to Sonic 3 when Knuckles literally punched them out of him which is strange considering he's supposed to be invulnerable to any damage at all except for a few instances like for example in Sonic Advance 2 Eggman's shrimpmobile can suck up a frozen Super Sonic and shred part of his ring count and im not sure if ring energy is just a gameplay mechanic for the sake of having some sort of limited use or a way to add death to an invincible sonic because in Sonic Advance he was gone for a few days still retaining his super form when he was found by Tails later on. Sonic intentionally separates the Emeralds by forcing the gems out of his body at the end of any game that uses them except for Sonic 2 to Sonic 3 and Sonic Unleashed since this game was sorta like an ending fight gone wrong after he went and collected the gems. He does so as a means to use their power to destroy Eggman's machines and separates them to keep them hidden because they always get found and turn up too easy so keeping em all in a general area means they can be taken back by Eggman quite easily so he separates them as a way to keep them safe from Eggman or at the very least make it hard for him to aquire them. Thats all on the theory but everything else is stuff i learned about the Emeralds and the Chaos energy over the years. However, the Chaos Emeralds are literal magnets they only need 1 to lead them to the others and if you remove them from their original dimension it magnetically tethers that whole universe into its current located Dimension as seen with the Chaos and Sol Emeralds in Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure. this only applies to places that already have a set of Gems in their world because the Twilight Cage did not make the Chaos Emeralds drag the whole universe into it for some odd reason that is unless the Twilight cage is apart of that world. The Gizoids or in this case Emerl may have obtained his copy ability from the Chao considering those creatures absorb creatures and take on their features or properties and probably means he and the others ran on Chaos energy because even after 4000 years the thing can still be made to function and the Chaos Emeralds feed it more Chaos energy allowing it to perform and speak better. (speculation) Flickies and other animal creatures probably exsert Chaos energy and perhaps thats why they can power robots despite not running on a hamster wheel or physically interacting in it from the inside by force or something (speculation) The Emeralds power has been stated to be unlimited meaning they dont ever run out of energy but they can have their energy sucked out leaving the emeralds as plain colorless either with positive Chaos energy or none at all. The positive energy of the Master Emerald seems to grant levetation to an entire chunk of land and display images of the whereabouts of other Chaos Emeralds within itself. The Emeralds are sentient to some degree as they force Sonic and Tails into Blaze's dimension to help stop Eggman and Eggman Nega and the same happened with the Sol Emeralds they forced Blaze into Sonic's world to stop the Eggmans. The Chaos Emeralds can be broken along with the Master Emerald but they contain a lot of energy still and can be restored if their pieces are brought together like in Sonic Battle or Adventure 2. Chaos energy seems to be the main thing giving the Emeralds their power but we do not yet know why or what exactly is Chaos energy and why it even exists however their energy can still be found and used without even needing the emeralds plus their power can be nearly replicated as stated in Sonic Adventure 2, Tails made a fake Chaos emerald that emits the same signals yet its less powerful than the real deal though even if that is the case why was it able to perform a Chaos Control unless the Gem was jam packed with a bit of Chaos energy just in a weaker form and quite limited plus Sonic can use it several times with 0 side effects (not sure how to count his first time using it because it looked like it sucked part of his energy to use it however he uses it multiple times during his fight with Shadow if you play on Dark story mode) The Emeralds have 0 pieces of lore detailing its true origins (the point of their creation) I forget how it was worded but either the Chaos Emeralds were made to counteract the Master Emerald or the Master Emerald was created to keep the Chaos Emeralds in check either or were already there and the other ones were created by someone. Chaos is the God of the Chao but they both can use Chaos energy and are quite powerful little critters other than that nothing is ever stated on their connection to the gems but it seems they both originate from something but both these creatures surprisingly have an ability to transform theirselves when given too much positive (angel Chao) or Negative (Dark Chao/Perfect Chaos) energy much like the Emeralds themselves display and give energy based on whats in their hearts. I seriously want to know more about the Chaos Emeralds and what their original purpose was and also more about the Owls and Echidna's they are significally more linked to the Emeralds than anything else
Now this will be a interesting storyline: Sonic and eggman's personalities get swapped so sonic would have eggman's personalities, and eggman has sonic's personality (No its not a body swap) For a time they wouldnt know any difference Sonic's friends would try to talk with him but sonic has eggman's personality and threatens them in someway Tails would be confused at first thinking that his buddy had gone bad but that changes when he sees eggman with sonic's personality Knuckles's reaction would be pretty funny, but he would think sonic is actually teasing him and not actually evil I could go on but i dont want to make this too long But i could tell you how they would switch personalities, seeing that sonic always defeats him with his friends and what not, eggman would changed sonic's personality so he would destroy his friends then sonic himself, eggman would use the chaos emeralds to do this (obviously), but the plan backfires and switches their personalites instead
If eggman is such a genius then why doesnt he equip all his robots with a chaos emerald tracker and a vault to put the gems in, and let his robots search for them in all directions at once? He would have most chaos emeralds in less then a week if he did that.
Whats interesting is in the fleetways Sonic the Comic series Sonic does collect and keep the chaos emeralds and is almost immediately corrupted by them becoming a violent destructive Super Sonic who begins to devolop his own mind and personality and eventually even exists as an entity entirely seperately from Sonic. It honestly kind of like Banner and the Hulk since Sonic will only transform during extreme stress and he never needs to collect the emeraldsto trigger his transformations something he actively tries to avoid unless circumstances are pretty dire and his friends or bystanders won't be at risk from SS's actions since he'll attack whatevers nearest friend or foe.
I like to believe the actual reason as to why Sonic doesn't keep the emeralds is, well, you kinda mentioned it in the video, because that would just make his adventures easier and end faster. Sonic doesn't like easy and is always up for a challenge and the collecting the emeralds is part of the journey for him.
It would be nice to see Sega make a game based around the Master and Chaos Emeralds. One that shows the destructive powers the emeralds ALONE can reap, and maybe even become so powerful that they overpower and corrupt or shatter the master emerald. As far as I've seen, the emeralds are gems of mysterious power, that can power things and turn Sonic, and a select few, super. Yes, they get used by Eggman and Chaos for evil purposes and through the use, they cause havoc. But I want to see what the dark side of the Emeralds looks like. If they are based on who uses them, they aren't really chaos, atleast not completely. I'd like to see a game where they elaborate on the capabilities of the emeralds and why they are CHAOS Emeralds.
The short Dark Sonic scene in Sonic X portrays your theory perfectly, plus you can see in many games and media that the Emeralds scatter after they are used, like the Dragonballs.
@@jonnyblanka That too, actually that's even better than my example. Because Sonic pulled from Fake Emeralds in that scene, it wasnt the same. Fleetway is pure Chaos embodied, without direction.
My theory is that the chaos emeralds getting destroy (when absorbed) every time you use them and then they reappears somewhere on world again (similar to dragonballs) so thats why sonic need to search for them so many times in every game.
I'd love to see a game where Sonic has to fight himself from another world, who has been corrupted by the chaos emeralds into essentially fleetaway super Sonic. Though I guess it's essentially dark sonic
Also, there's this one time he searched for the Chaos Emeralds before attacking Eggman's fleet and he caused a chain of events that led to the fracture of the Earth and the release of an evil creature that drains its power from negative emotions and can destroy the planet.
I feel like there's also the fact that if he kept them then they'd all be in one place, and if he ever got taken out they'd all be in his enemy's hand. Having them scatter makes each one less of a target, and gives time to figure out a countermeasure should something happen
One hole in your theory, The Master Emerald. I heard somewhere that the Master Emerald was created by the gods to counter the Chaos Emeralds when needed like on Space Colony Ark. Also I know its not canon but there is a line in season of 1 of sonic x that got me thinking and that is when sonic said that whenever the Chaos Emeralds come together they scatter all over again. I always thought that was one reason why. Edit: it would be cool however to get to know Dark Super Sonic more and see sonic's friends and Dr. Eggman bring Sonic back
i thinkt his fits also in why he still had them in the beginning of sonic 3. He didn't know about the history of the emeralds before sonic 3. i know it want in the game anywhere about 'bad ancestors used the stones in a bad way' but it was a 2d sidescroller from the 90's in depth story like that was kept for comics and manuels at best. And we see the emerald are back on angel island at the end of S3aK because they turn into the super emeralds but stay in their place. So no wonder why he'd keep them, he didn't know about how corrupted they can turn someone. ontop of that, in Unleashed that fight he had/waving with eggman at the bringing of the game was 'the final fight; of whatever adventure sonic just went on. so it wasn't like he was keeping them on hand for a long while, just until he defeated eggman.
Not only that, but the Sol Emeralds are supposed to be equivalent to the Chaos Emeralds, right? And since the Sol Emeralds have a will, what's to stop the Chaos Emeralds from also having a will? And another piece to the puzzle is how he can be knocked out of his super form. Knuckles does it no matter which Sonic 3 you are playing, Big Arm does it if it's available in your version, Sonic Unleashed intro does it. There's probably more examples too.
I think chaos emeralds will is limited by the master emerald, who shatters after excessive use, proving as I think the master emerald has the will, not the emeraldsBig arms is just a vanilla glitch in sonic 3,in sonic unleashed the emeralds power is canceled by gia's negative energy.
What if Sonic, Shadow and Silver learned how to tap into their Super forms without using the Chaos Emeralds. I speculate that the emeralds just might be conduits of chaos energy, so what if, in theory, it was possible for one to tap into the full extent of their chaos energy, turning into their awakened state? Of course there's still going to be that energy drain drawback.
I feel like if anybody can access their super forms without the chaos emeralds it would be shadow. Looking back through Sonic adventure 2 and seeing shadows backstory we can see that he has a very powerful connection to chaos energy. We can see him utilizing chaos control to possible its fullest even with out all seven emeralds. I feel like somewhere down the line shadow might learn to access some more of his chaos abilities and unlock a sort of pseudo super form where his power is somewhere near his regular super forms power but a little weaker, he might also be able to be damaged but not too much.
@@retroskeleton891 I'd like to think that Sonic should be able to the same thing. I would speculate that the insta-shield, homing attack, light dash, light speed attack, teleporting and temporarily stopping time using a fake emerald, the boost attack and all the DBZ looking stuff that Sonic does in frontiers are byproducts of him tapping into his own chaos energy. It would be assumed that Sonic must have been training over the years in between sequels so his rivalry with Shadow is most likely falls in line with the 'hard work vs nepotism' trope.
Well! I know why : when they are used they go away after use scattering across the entire planet (that’s not how it works in sonic 2 when u turn super tho and then at the end of the game the remove the robotic parts that need to be removed and then they scatter (but that’s what I think anyway)
Sonic would not be corrupted if you ask me, considering what Chip says in Unleashed about him having a good heart. However, for the sake of their safekeeping, it’s a good idea to spread them out, sometimes even among his friends. Shadow almost always seems to have the Green Emerald on his person, GUN has held on to some of the emeralds a couple times before, Tails uses them to power his planes on occasion, and so on.
@@ImaginationOmniverse Just saying, a few weeks passed between the time Sonic went back to his world and fought these guys, he had time to gather the emeralds back..And Sonic scatering the emeralds himself doesn't prove that the emeralds don't scatter on their own, just shows that both can be done
i am just noting that sonic actually has the emeralds at the start of unleashed proving this wrong however the game likely started midway through eggman's plan to gather the emeralds to power his weapon to awaken dark gaia with a plan B (make a mech specifically to force sonic to go super and a device to trap him and drain his power) just incase sonic gathers them. and sonic responded by gathering the emeralds before the game starts
This also bring up another theory I have on sonic. Shadow was based on sonic who seems to have been written about in ancient texts. So for shadow to have been created to use chaos powers Gerald must of known that what would be sonic could use all chaos powers which include chaos spear and chaos blast. Sonic did not even know about chaos control so it’s obvious he did not know about chaos spear and chaos blast and are abilities he also possesses. However he does not use these abilities because he does not like to use chaos energy likely because he knows what happens when it corrupts you and you become perfect chaos incident. Of course the out of game real life reason is they were trying to make shadow a little different so he is not a pure clone gameplay and character wise.
Honestly I though it was like the dragon ball situation were goku just chooses not to jump up and grab the balls before they leave. Cause you know they confirmed that he can in fact do that at any time.
