I always thought Sparg0 is so cool for smiling and shaking hands/fistbumping even after a loss. I love to see him compete and the first tourney I ever went to was actually mainstage 2021. That spike was indeed heartbreaking but thank you for sharing your story and adding further context. It's players like him that keep my tuning into smash. Much respect for making this video about someone else even though you too are a top player Peab! I'll be rooting for ya!
I feel like Spargo is less of a machine now. He's still great obviously, but he's starting to handle losses much harder than before. I've noticed that he's much more visibly upset or tilted when he loses...sometimes even tossing his controller on the table after a loss. I still wish him the best. It's great to see him win!
spargo’s been the best in the world a couple of times already, not sure why you are implying that he hasnt made that jump yet towards the end of the video
Do you think he could make a compelling case over time to be one of the greatest (Leo's dominance and accomplishments seem difficult to imagine sparg0 eclipsing them) even if he never hits #1 in a given ranking season?
@@Peabnut If Ultimate had a Hall of Fame, like other sports do, would sparg0 already be the equivalent of a unanimous, first ballot inductee? Who else would hold that distinction besides Leo?
Depends on what you mean by ''one of the greatest''. He's definitely among the top 5 best-ever Smash Ultimate players and I think he's got a solid case for top 3, even. You obviously have to put Leo and Acola above him, but while Tweek and Miya are close to Sparg0, I think it makes sense to put Sparg0 above them. Tweek has been a top player in Ultimate for longer than Sparg0 but has never been as close to being ranked number 1; Miya has won an absurd amount of important tournaments in his relatively short career as a top player, but he's been consistently ranked under him, although he will probably overtake him this year.
@@brandonpeterson8235 I just wanted thank you for pointing this out. A jargon where everything has to be exaggerated to get noticed and be considered cool isn't a very good thing.
