Great video I have done some roles in retail and you often get managers that if you ask for a day off. They will say only if you can find cover for your shift. So then the role of the manage of managing staff is then passed to the retail employee which I think is unfair. I agree with your view that managers should create an eviroment that people want to work in. As I have had those too and it makes work alot nicer
Hey Seb, I was working at KFC. My payslip shows £20 pay and rest is reduction by employer. I contacted my manager she talked to payroll department then I got half of what I owed. Now HR says you will get it with the pay of next month. I am very depressed and anxious because had to balance my money with debts. What can I do in such a situation? Can I file damages it’s 20th day being unpaid of remaining wages.
Thats a tricky spot youre in. It comes down to what is fair and reasonable. In reality you can put a grievance in for financial hardship caused by payroll in which case you'll probably get your money sooner. But filing damages is unlikely and would get thrown out. Its a payroll error, not constructive dismissal after all. Id escalate it and threaten to go further if not dealt with but an email to senior management should suffice
