At last an opinion that has complete sense. I know tensions are high but some are a little too nuts. It's a football game remember and you'll have forgotten 90% of the result whoever you support in a couple of weeks when reality sets in. This being a final can go any way period. You have two very experienced teams and tensions could fly high. You can't even discard a red card which would be a pity. Anyway I'd like the best team on the pitch to win. Argentina are not that big of a side without Messi, just imagine Messi not being in this side and see how far they can get. If he doesn’t score he will always create chances for others due to his brilliance. France on the other hand are a cohesive team but sometimes they tend to switch off and be luck luster. For them being in the finals with all those injuries says a lot about their mentality. I feel France might edge this through dead ball situations ie corners or free kicks because they’ve got taller players overall, I might be wrong..But there’s also the Messi effect

This Mbappe story about not tracking back is overblown. I’ve liked this feature of the French team since the start of the group stage since he conserves so much energy throughout the game that there is basically no difference between his runs at 77’ than at 15’. That, and the attention he receives throughout games by the opposition are bonuses. And the result is that France has been the most consistent team in the tourney at manufacturing goals in open play. Given that they have other players that can take up the slack (which not a lot of teams have), it is a reasonable strategy and has worked for the better here. But no, these old school footballers view anything like that to signal arrogance, etc. Be old school if you want to, but results are the most important thing in any sport, and it’s been working for France. We’ll see if it works once again tomorrow

Since then all the heartbreaks. In 94 Maradona scandal. 98 Hyped star (Ortega) doing stupid things getting red card and the. Bargcamps famous goal. Then Batistuta/Aimar/Saviola all failed in 2002/2006/2010. In 2006 stupid coach didn’t play Messi vs Germany. In 2014 reached final somehow. Had chances too vs very strong Germany. But higuain forgot how to play football. 2018 was a disastrous coach and team. Expectedly went out. Among them probably 2006 Arg had a very strong team. But coach messed it after going 1-0 up vs Germany. Messi didn’t play. All other years Messi kept playing well but luck and team mates or coaches let him down. But he was always blamed. Whenever I watch football a sadness comes inside. I even stopped watching club league matches or champions leagues too after that 2014 defeat I. The final. Most hurts me Messi’s sad face. Here they are again. One last chance. Finally they have a team which has a very good team work. Thanks to Scaloni. Finally we can clearly see Messi is playing with happiness and enjoying. I think Messi will try solo dribbles near the box trying to cement his position as best ever, win a few free kicks and may score one of them, changing the momentum of the game with crowd chanting Messi, Messi winning the man of itmatch, world cup, golden ball and golden boot. France has weak link in defense on the left, and Mbappe doesn't help with defense. Messi can destabilize their defense on left and make a few key passes for Alvarez. I think France will find it much harder.
I'm going with France for my prediction for the final. Obviously Argentina is a threat and could still win, but I just feel France is the best international team in world football. They made the final at Euro 2016, then won the World Cup in 2018 and are now playing in their 2nd consecutive World Cup final. They simply have the most talent in their squad, they have the deepest squad out of anyone, and these players have been there and done that. They have the experience and know-how. A 2nd consecutive World Cup win would really cement them as one of the greatest international teams of all-time. Up there with the Brazilian sides with Pele or the Spain side from 2008-2012 which won 3 major tournaments in a row. With Argentina I feel like if you stop Messi you stop Argentina. Besides Messi they don't have that many great outlets that could seriously trouble a world class team like France. France on the other hand have Mbappe, Griezemann, and even Giroud. They also have better defensive mids, and more elite defenders. And potential difference makers on the bench like Dembele and Coman. Argentina also have the pressure of trying to win for the first time since 1986, and Messi's pressure will also be immense. It's very possible they will be overwhelmed by the moment, especially if they go down early and things don't go their way. I also think France is capable of smashing Argentina, but Argentina aren't capable of smashing France, nobody is. IF Argentina do win, it'll be very close and by the skin of their teeth. In other words France have the higher ceiling with more potential. I'd love to see Argentina win because I haven't seen them win a World Cup in my lifetime. And it would be fantastic to see Messi finally get the crowning jewel of his career. But I don't believe it will happen.

Deschamps won’t change. He can’t change. For all the praise the guy is given he (some is fair- but when people say he’s the best coach in the world- that’s a joke) his system has been set for 4.5 years. The biggest issue I have with this guy is France dominates the beginning of games then he sits back- yes it makes sense but at times he lets the other team gain momentum on the ball and gives the other team a chance. England and Morocco both had chances after an initial French on slot and that is not a good sign of a coach. France with that squad should never need to sit back as deep as they do and chase as much as they have.
