This has been the 'best' world cup ever due to the nail biting drama in the matches. That's thanks to all the teams efforts, nothing to do with the location. But the hospitality of the Qatar people has been good because I've seen them on social media giving out free food/drinks around the stadiums.

Not even close. 1986 was much better. Germany 0-2 down came back to 2-2, Maradona delivers a beautiful assist to Burruchaga in the dying moments for Argentina to win 3-2. No goals from penalties, game decided in regulation time, Maradona at his finest.

For the first 79 minutes it was one way traffic, once the French scored it became a great game until then Argentina where in cruise control, the old master v the apprentice both deserved to be on the winning side but sport is a cruel mistress but their can be only one, the old dog triumphed over the pup. Messi is the greatest player of this era and generation he joins Pele, Maradona, Cruyff and Puskas no such thing as a GOAT, you can't compare different generations that applies to all sports.

Best World cup ever. Les blues showed the world that they are masterclass in the end of the match, Excitement was in the air 3-3. Only regretting that they should have handled the game in the first 40 mns w MBappe, Thuram, Griezmann, Hernandez and Giroud! Unfortunately Penalties in the end did not seal their fate. It was a boring game up until the 80th minute or whenever they got the penalty. After that it was great but up until then it was boring. As for living memory sitting on my dads lap age 7 watching England win was quite a good living memory.
