HEY there! Welcome back to my channel, all about finding joy while learning to live well with autoimmune disease. My goal is to empower you to learn to listen to your body, and customize your mindset, nutrition, and lifestyle so you can live your best life!
In this video, I'll be sharing the problem with stress, why stress if harmful to health - what's going on in the body when we are stressed on a basic level, and the importance of reducing stress to encourage our bodies to function, heal, and detox optimally. I will also talk about the most common mistakes I see when it comes to the AIP and stress.
So many people think the autoimmune protocol is only about the way we eat, about nutrition. However, the AIP is a healing nutrition protocol as well as lifestyle protocol. If you are new to the autoimmune protocol, it is also known as AIP, and it is a healing nutrition and lifestyle protocol specifically designed to help those of us with autoimmune disease, chronic illness, and high levels of inflammation to find relief from our symptoms.
I'll post links below to a few videos that will help you if you are new to AIP.
I know that living with autoimmunity and chronic conditions can be incredibly stressful. It was for me, and it sometimes still is. This whole "finding joy while learning to live well with autoimmunity" thing is not a perfect science, and it's a learning process with ups and downs and in betweens. And that's okay. This is not about being perfect or about conforming to some protocol perfectly.
This is about our lives. This is about showing up as the best version of ourselves, no matter what that looks like. It's about trusting our faith and that God is allowing us to have these experiences so we can learn, grow, and become better versions of ourselves, become better instruments in His hands, show our kids what it looks like to face challenges.
Do we become angry, bitter, and hopeless? Maybe. I know I did for awhile at my rockbottom, and that's okay. That was a part of my journey, and it may be a part of yours. But let's not sit in that.
Let's stand up, and choose to find gratitude, meaning, purpose, hope, a growth mindset, and underneath it all rely on our faith. It's not easy. It's one of the hardest things I've ever done. But it's worth it.
It's worth it. Don't give up. Sending you so much love and support! Have a wonderful day, and I'll see you again soon in my next video where I'll dive into practical tips for reducing stress. Big hugs!

Not only can stress trigger autoimmune disease and autoimmune symptoms, but living with autoimmune disease can then cause MORE stress. It's a nasty little cycle that's SO important to break. I'll be back on Friday sharing LOTS of tips for reducing stress. In the meantime, I'd LOVE to hear what helps you! Please comment and let me know what your stress levels are like, and what you're doing about it ❤️

I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis since I was ten and am now 44. I also grew up with and watching my grandmother who was an invalid from rheumatoid arthritis since she had been 16 and my mother also has rheumatoid arthritis severely with deformed hands and feet so because I grew up with severe Rheumatoid arthritis around me plus me first getting it at 10 I found I come from a very loving accepting place and over the years those feelings have expanded to a deep belief of that all humans should come from love even to ourselves. So, I come from love in everything that I do which helps my stress hugely and keeping it down. The other thing I think that helps me personally is also being a Taoist and coming from a place of living our evolution and just being in that evolution. An example of Taoism is rain is neither good nor bad, rain is just rain. So it’s these two that help me with my own severe Rheumatoid arthritis and I am on full disability because of my RA. Plus, I do want to say the AIP autoimmune protocol Paleo diet is absolutely also helping me and switching over from a regular crap American diet learning how to do the AIP diet while also being flared with horrible brain fog, RA throat inflammation causing a hoarseness, and sometimes even motor speech problems because of my RA brain inflammation and fog, I believe because I always try to come from love that that helped me easily to just switch over and thankfully I did. After about 7 days of AIP for me my rheumatoid arthritis started changing and I am doing a lot better. I do also take arthritis meds but it’s the diet that has made the biggest difference for allowing me less to zero exhaustion and crashing, almost zero brain fog and no more brain motor speech problems, zero RA throat joint inflammation, way less inflammation and way less flare ups.

I do not know a lot about Taosim, but what you shared is so beautiful. I love the way you approach yourself with love and grace. I am so happy to hear that AIP is helping you feel better! I'd love for you to keep me posted ❤️. I always love to connect and hear others' stories and experiences. Thank you again!

@@ShannaNemrow thank you so much too and for your channel and all that you share and I will keep you posted on my own journey living with an autoimmune disease. I do look back on my life and wished my mom, grandmother, and me as kid knew about AIP so that maybe they could have felt better and had less joint damage and that I as a kid grew up understanding the serious importance of diet and balance of the gut so with having said I’m so grateful for you and your channel and your journey. We are in this amazing time where you can reach out and teach and discuss and help so many people and I love that so much!
