Why SUPER GT is a must-watch for racing fans - ft. Josh Revell

So glad you guys got this series. No more searching for sketchy streams. And since the dtm is dead more or less this is my go to

It literally took me to the end to realise ''wait a minute, this was a The Race video, not a Josh Revell one''. Cool collab on an amazing branch of motorsports, can't wait for Gran Turismo 7 to take some to the track.

Being a long-time Gran Turismo fan brought me into this where their race cars have fancy-looking names derived from their sponsors, teams, and the models they race in. I absolutely recommend this if you want to get the most out of your taste in touring cars.

Who else genuinely thought this was about our main man Steve Super GT Brown for a second....

Finally, I've been wanting to see these races but never did because the lack of English commentary! YAY!

This is the kind of collaboration I like to see

With LMP1 is replaced by Hypercar which is slower, Super GT now is not only fastest GT racing in the world, but also fastest sports car racing in the world. Recently there's an article from Autosport that compares laptime between racing categories and series, Super GT GT500 is only behind F1, F2, Super Formula & IndyCar.

I thank the first Gran Turismo game for exposing me to this racing series. My favorites are the GT500 Castrol Supra and the Pennzoil Skyline GTR.

This is so awesome they have Nissan GT-R, Honda NSX, Toyota Supra, Subaru BRZ, Lexus LC500 etc

Everyone should love Super GT its precursor in name gave us the Calsonic Skyline and the Castrol TOM's Supra.

This is awesome. I've loved this race series since playing with the cars in Gran Turismo. Please do more videos like this so I can send to people to get them into the racing. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next SUPER GT and SUPER FORMULA race.

I feel everyone has been curious of this series after seeing the Skyline and NSX for example in Gran Turismo 3 & 4. I remembered driving the Autobacs NSX in GT3.

The first I knew of JGTC / Super GT was from playing Gran Turismo. My favorite was the Calsonic R34.

What a pleasant surprise it is to see Josh Revell pop in on various channels and collaborate with them! Massive props to him for all the great content he puts out.

Great explanation and thanks for covering this series. I'm new to motorsport as I got into F1 a couple of years ago and I'm trying to expand to different series.

Already following supergt for the last 2 seasons on their official RU-vid channel but since it's literally no english speaker, i felt so strange and can't understand what they saying, but still enjoying the race and this series as a whole. Now thanks to the race for covering this series, i love supergt more than ever

This is great news, watched a couple of last seasons races and was hooked, and with the time difference can watch races live before I start work 😊👍

The one thing that got me into super gt, is the car liveries. When the moment i saw the hatsune miku racing AMG GT car, i immidietly got hooked because i love vocaloid and racing. There were also different anime racing liveries in super gt, like evangelion, the fate series, and even love live. (For those of you who are wondering, the hatsune miku racing team is in the GT300 class along side the cars that have anime liveries)

Used to love watching Super GT when there was English commentary highlights many moons ago on some random channel, so happy to hear it's available online! Oh and getting Josh to do explainers is a sure-fire way to get viewers, he has a way of nailing it for racing fans and non-followers to get them hooked.

It maybe history now, but GT Live 2004 hosted the then JGTC special race in California USA. Many of the most iconic machines from the then new Calsonic 350z, G'ZOX 350z, Dynacity Supra, and Mobile 1 NSX competed in a day and night race. I've been a fan ever since.

I’ve always wanted to watch Super GT, but not so much to catch it live for multiple hours early in the morning. If there was a 20 minute highlight show or cut-down of the broadcast, that would be ideal for me 🙂

Watched my first race and looked great although I had trouble identifying the cars and knowing what the running order is. With all the aero and the GT500 cars looking similar to some of the GT300 it is confusing watching them in a group as with the exception of the lambo, 911, and AMG all the other cars are hard to identify at a distance where most of the camera angles are. I know the number color differentiates the classes it is most of the time to hard to see that. The series needs to understand that the majority of viewers are on tv instead of the stands and the cars need to be identified better for tv viewing. Perhaps having the color of the wings would do it. Most other sports car series with multiple classes the LMP1 and LMP2 look so different there is no problem. My suggestion is color the wings to identify the class. Use the split screen occasionally to show the different classes and show the leaders. Have a drop down list on the left for the GT500 and one on the right for the GT300 showing car number driver, a symbol for the car identifier, and gap. The broadway display at the top can show occasionally to identify the teams and lap times

Thank you for showing this, and especially free of charge! Since Motors TV (aka Motorsport TV, or whatever it was renamed to) died a death in the UK (and probably the rest of the world), I've not seen a single interesting series held outside of F1 (and that only in highlights) and whatever Eurosport put on, gawd bless 'em. They do their best to keep as much motorsport on as they can. With Sky and BT taking over so many series on 2 & 4 wheels, my viewing is very restricted. I do hope you'll be keeping the races up after the stream has ended though. My sleep pattern is unpredictable at best 😉 (edit: I just followed the link! Thank you!!!) Btw Josh, did you know that Rich Energy is still around as a sponsor? Definitely in British Superbikes, and I am sure I saw it on a lower class car recently (lower than F1/LMP 1 that is).

I grew up with F1 and I sincerely tried so hard to become interested in other racing series but it never worked for me. Don't know why.

Its what we should have done in Australia had a GT3 formula with the option for the then local cars Holden, Ford and Even Toyota and Mitsubishi to build to the spec. Instead we had pointless 2 car grid that now has nowhere to go with GM leaving the country. Love Super GT
