They had the chance to improve the atmosphere of the team because of ddos in Korea, they couldn't really enjoy rank plus the not so good results. But travelling to Arab, be able to "take a break" and experiment on ban and pick and play ranks without ddos are all the plus for them. Hopefully it will continue in this pattern.

honestly i dont think this will be the case since they know each other much better than dom and monte. With dom and monte (and even ls previously) i always felt that they disagreed on a lot of points but just didnt want to argue on the show so they kind of just let everything slide from the other person and then said something completely different. So i think it might be the exact difference because they agree on some fundamental level if you know what i mean. but maybe you are right who knows. I am just not the biggest monte fan ig

I agree but it's the first episode. The dynamics will grow and settle. If you were around for way way back in the day; the first couple episodes of The Jungle (Dom, Monte, and DGon's previous podcast) kinda started out the same and as they knew each other better and learned how to work the dynamic that gave us the previous iteration of PS. It's going to be important to remember it's not going to be a perfect switch week one. Might take some time. Also this is the perfect time to do this. It's a lull in the eSports schedule and the quality will improve by the time of summer finals and worlds (hopefully).

I’ll be honest, I have been following the podcast since FaceCheck days (yes, to me powerspike belongs to Dom/Dgon saga) and I love Monte! Also, knowing Yamato from Dom’s streams I wasn’t convinced about the change. But man, after listening the hi key low key no key segment Yamato brings something new, and exciting. I’ve always been a fan of his career, so to have his insights now on the podcast, is a complete privilege. All the best guys, happy and excited to see this new “roster”❤

Yamato’s such a wonderful addition to the show! I listen to Powerspike and SI, and I found that, for understandable reasons, Monte repeated most of his talking points on both shows. So the addition of Yamato doesn’t rob me of Monte’s perspective, but instead adds a fresh, insightful, and entertaining one.

You know what I like about this TL team ? APA was made so much fun of, I myself did not consider him for a while. But he is improving, a lot, he is totally beating the allegations, and they all seem to want more. CoreJJ and Impact just won't fucking retire, they are holding the team together, Yeon is far from his ceiling, and Umti seems to have found a happy place, I trust him to improve his consistency because he is a smart fella

I think we are conflating the two issues a bit. 1) T1 winning the tournament doesn’t really shift much narratives. They bounced back from the KT defeat and ramped up. This was a new patch, new situation, and they performed better than the field. 2) TL performing well is a sign, however faint you want to call it, but a sign nonetheless that the NA side of things is not bottom barrel shit. Both are good things. I am a fan of T1 as well as a distant fan of TL. Got on during the doublelift era. This was more of a temperature check for teams, in a fun and new environment.

TI winning doesn't matter in terms of how they will view the teams going forward for the rest of this year. Obviously there are things that every team can take away from the event as they explained.

Remember that based on how averages work generally, half of all people are below average intelligence. Why is everyone saying this tournament does not matter? Sure it is bad format, but I think it’s still fair to say it shows some hopes and promises to regions we thought were bad, such as NA. I’m quite surprised T1 won because I thought GenG would will it, but still I think the games were still fun to watch and we should encourage more international tournaments for league. MSI and worlds is fine, but having more tournaments like CS would be exciting too. Let me know what you guys think 😊

Dom did a really good job crafting his online persona, its such a delight to see him cope and seethe every time something does not go his way even if you know its probably not real. Its both entertaining for his rabid fans and for the rest of the community depending on what happens, everyone gets their fix at some point. I would be really interested once he "retires" so to speak how much was genuinely his personality and how much was just ragebaiting for the sake of engagement, obviously he cant reveal that yet but it would be quite fascinating.

2013-14 C9 intro into LCS winning 3 or 4 straight titles domesticly and then getting quarters atleast internationally against good oposition (lemonnation,meteos,hai etc) was prob my #1 NA team of all time.

Then this tournament its hard to take anything away from it in terms of how you look at the teams going forward bc of the timing of the event and the format. The only way this tournament matters is if the results it changes the way you think about the best teame in the world which in their case it didn't.

Kinda surprised at the fact that nobody seems to care about the fact that almost the best NA team ever, with great macro is really just a Korean team. It's like taking current HLE and being shocked that they might randomly perform against Asian teams, whereas G2 despite being in not the greatest form atm is at least still actual western players.

just being objective. sorry to say but t1 has high expectations. also it wouldnt have mattered at all if any one of the other teams won the tournament its about the level of play. tl almost beating t1 matters because team liquid is getting better obviously. t1 winning the mickeymouse tournament doesnt matter but its important to note that if geng or top esports won the tournament, that wouldnt matter either

Riot fumbled the ball with how they failed to innovate how these tournaments are run to entertain the viewers. Atleast Saudi wants to try and shake things up for the better, and these tournaments will soon make the Riot tournaments seem like the mickey mouse ones, atleast in terms of prize pool and viewership

Or even rift rivals, kespa cup, etc etc. Teams knew in advance ofc because it was an opt in tournament. They invited most teams from MSI but other teams also got invited but declined it because of how it would look to fans that they accepted a bag full of cash from a country thats...not the most morally sound in most people's eyes, shall we say.

is lpl just not the most fun region to watch if you watch all the regions play? actually maybe not this year because lcs with the new stuff has been a fucking banger to watch. but generally lpl is pretty much tied with lck in terms of how good the level of play is. the difference is that lpl has more teams than lck which can be better or worse depending on your preference. personally i like to see new players and possible rising stars and theres just more games in lpl + fearless draft was interesting. cblol i dont care about and lec has been looking mega dogshit this year especially this split. teams just dont care anymore and its so obvious its painful to watch. everyone is for funning on stage and the format is so shit that it can be beneficial for some teams to lose a game on purpose or g2 can guarantee playoff spot and then just troll games on purpose and for fun every game not caring at all because they already have a spot secured
