Many still think of driver's education as a rite of passage for teens, but that isn't the reality for many youth today. Rising costs and other key accessibility barriers prevent young people from engaging in driver's ed, which greatly limits opportunities and creates risks for teens, as well as their families and friends.
In Mount Vernon, Wash., a unique scholarship program is supporting young people’s growth, education, and safety by providing greater access to driver's education. This scholarship program is managed by Veronica Gonzalez, a Family-School Migrant Liaison who works with Mount Vernon High School students in partnership with Munros' Driving Instruction Inc.
foundry10 has proudly helped support this scholarship program since 2020. Recently, we sat down with Veronica and teens who have been supported by the scholarship to discuss why access to driver's education is critical for all youth.
