I honestly believe that the B1s were, at the very least, Slightly smarter than what you’re describing because they were given more Menial tasks such as crewing ships, fighting fires, aiding civilians who asked for directions, & cleaning the wild animal cages…
So basically they decided NOT to give them more intelligent programming because they were greedy and fearful of an intergalactic terminator army???. Well that makes a lot of sense. The droid's ai would have eventually started to evolve on it's own and they would turn on their creators. Not the most beneficial thing to have your army's do to you during War on the battlefield.
There is a lot of examples of IA that doesn't mess with their creators in fiction, but they could make a super computer IA that control the entire army but doesn't have full liberty. She could just process the battles and organize the army following the orders of the separatists. Would be cool to watch a more efficient droid army acting united as one.
I'm not sure I entirely agree with you. Yes, the B1 stupidity and basic programming made it unable to handle complex tasks. Therefore, it couldn't think for itself (not very well, anyhow) and couldn't be convinced to turn on its enemies. At the programming stage, people might have a difficult time because there isn't much to reprogram, but that doesn't mean they'd have a hard time reprogramming what is there. Meanwhile, with more complex droids, yes u might be able to convince them to join u because they can think for themselves. However, more powerful AI mean more money and programming was put into it. Surely these smarter (and more expensive) droids would have programming defences in them, the separatists wouldn't want them being reprogrammed to turn against them. And the amount of time and effort it would take to go through ALL of the complex programming would, in my opinion be harder then just reprogramming a single b1 with basic programming (a droid that might not have any programming defenses). However, to be fair, one issue that might make reprogramming a b1 more difficult is if u want it to go beyond its capabilities. If u want the b1 to become a tactical genius, then you will have to add all that programming yourself, whereas a tactical droid will already have all that programming. Anyhow, that's my opinion
But sometimes it takes intelligence to get the job done yes you have a lot of battle choice but they can all be wiped out because of this stupidity if you're going to put someone in charge of intelligence have a super tactical battle droid be in charge of that but even they will make a mistake that they couldn't calculate
@@macwelch8599 some militaries don't want to retreat and that they'll use every last man to achieve victory which is suicide sometimes you need to retreat if you're running low on men ammo munitions or the plan backfired or something it gives you and your men a chance to live to fight another day I'm not in the military but I've seen a few things.
The answer is that it was all just a show, a literal joke played by Sidious on the whole galaxy. If we watch Revenge of The Sith; We learn that Lord Sidious is who the Separatists ultimately bow down to and who the Separatists are ultimately taking all of their orders from. At the same time, it was Lord Sidious disguised as the Senator, Sheev Palpatine, who tasked Dooku with creating the Clone Army. Dooku did not wish to be personally tied to the creation of the Clones, so he convinced his life long friend, Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas, with going to Kamino in secrecy to commission the Clone Army. Upon return to Dooku with good news; Dooku struck down Sifo-Dyas, that no one would live to tell of this Army. . Sidious then commanded the Droid Army through the Separatist Leaders, as well as the Clone Army through the Republic’s Senate by fabricating threats from the CiS, and tied the Jedi intrinsically to the Clones by begging them to be their War Generals. . Sidious then spent 3 years watching joyously as the entire galaxy burned in his Comedic fire, all the while biding his time until he could turn those flames upon the Jedi Temple.
@@johnnyrocket1685 Yes, I get that it was all a show, but the Trade Federation had those droid armies before they started working for Sidious. Why would the Trade Federation purposefully include *organic* flaws in a *robot* army?
@@jagnestormskull3178 Actually, that is incorrect. In current Canon, some of which has been changed recently, Dooku began the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The Separatist movement was entirely designed and brought together by the face and voice of Dooku; But in the shadows it was always Sidious. . With Sidious pulling the strings of Dooku, he created the entire Droid Army that the Clones fought against. I don’t think many fully realize that this is a plan Sidious has been working on for literal decades. At least 30 years before the conclusion of Revenge of the Sith. . The had the droid army commissioned years before the clones, yes, and the Droid Army was conquering worlds and bringing them into the confederacy; Yes…. Because it was all Sidious’ carefully designed plan that started many years ago when he was still just an apprentice to Darth Plagius.
@@johnnyrocket1685 Okay, but the Trade Federation already has the Droid Army during _Phantom Menace,_ you know, before the Separatist movement, when they're seemingly just being introduced to the Sith. That means they've had the droid army for a while. They're just now learning in _The Phantom Menace_ that the central control station is a problem, and so they get rid of the droids' reliance on it. Why wouldn't they get rid of the droid army's reliance on speech too?
I honestly think the reason for the battle droids being such idiots was Feloni's giving us some comedy relief in an other wise very dark war even for animation standards
I mean, partly both actually. Yes, I’m sure they wanted them to be dumb because they didn’t want it to be too dark, especially with cartoons for kids. However, it’s also true it’s intentional, in part for the AI not taking over, partly because Sidious was controlling the Separatist movement and therefore didn’t want them to actually win. . The Droid Army and Clone Army were both designed to just be pointless armies fighting pointless wars meant to drain the resources of the galaxy and demonize the Jedi.
Their first apperance in Phantom Menace was pretty cool as i always saw them as mindless robots made for exterminating stuff since i was a kid. OOM-9 was a example of how a tactical droid had to look like in the Clone Wars show. But the writters decided to turn them stupid because they had to make Republic and Jedi full of plot armor because they think we all love good guys. It just feels the bad guys are the Republic and Jedi. Its boring to warch nonr of them get at least hurt. Anakin in the show is smart but in RoTS hes just dumb and falls under Palpatines influence. I dont even know why do writters suck at everything they do whit this franchise.
I get they are cheap and dumb. But why cowardly? That does not go along with 'Crush your enemies by numbers'. They get worse as the films go on, flailing around and running. In the first episode of the Bad batch we even see some surrender. Ordering droids to retreat, fine but why programme battle droids to run away without orders, especially when expendible?
It will never happen. Jar Jar received and still receives such a disgustingly poor approval rating that GL said we’ll never see him or his species again. Jar Jar is never coming back, most especially not as Darth Plagius hiding in Jar Jar’s body.
