This movie hit harder for me because growing up Mexican most of us grew up with all the superstitions, the brujería(witchcraft), the “bad energy”, the overly religious and superstitious grandmas telling us that “this is bad” or “this is evil” not to mention the constant gossip about neighbors like “don’t talk to them because they do bad things” this movie was way too relatable for me

I ain’t gonna lie, this is one of the last movies I would expect to be lost in the cholo sauce. Love your videos bro, your editing fucking kills me.

I was with my ex for 10 years and she was Mexican from South Central we seen it in theaters such a good ass movie. I lived with her and her family for like 6 years and this shut was actually pretty authentic.

I have to agree, this one was the best. It took me a while to get around to watching even the first Paranormal movie but a few years ago I decided to binge watch the whole series and this one stood out as my favorite. Thanks for jogging my memory, I will have to rewatch tonight. 👍🏾💕

What intrigued me the most tbh is that I live in oxnard area even before this movie came out but it was a big rant when i was in HS lmao

So here’s how it’s connected to the other movies. You already know that Hector was sent back in time to the first movie’s ending. But the woman in that one was actually the second victim to be possessed. The 2nd one was a prequel with her little sister. She had just given birth to a son named Hunter. She gets possessed but they manage to send the demon to her sister. Who after killing her bf went to kidnap baby Hunter and killed his parents. The girl Hector and Marisol meet in the park was Hunter’s half sister and the only one to survive because she was on a field trip when the other woman. That why she knows so much she tried to investigate what happened. Hunter was put up for adoption until he was old enough to take part in a ritual. A ritual with a coven of witches that the sisters from the first 2 movies were forced into by their grandmother. The younger being prepared to be the “bride” of the demon. Named Toby. This was revealed in the 3rd film. The grandmother’s house was the same house at the end of this movie. The 4th movie was about Hunter being ready and was taken by the coven. His adopted sister tried to save him but she was caught and I assume was the virgin sacrifice that was mentioned early in that movie. It actually may have been her, or supposed to be her, that scared Marisol in the stables. A prisoner waiting for her day to be sacrificed. Then we get to this movie the 5th one. I’ll be honest idk why they were marking these guys like Jesse and Oscar for possession. Maybe it was said but it’s been so long idr. But the girls that show up with the demon eyes in the Bruja’s basement were the little girl versions of the sisters taken right from the 3rd movie. Meaning this Bruja was part of the same coven that they were forced into. The same coven as their grandmother. How’s this possible? Well the 6th and final movie “The Ghost Dimension” is about demons opening portals thru time. And that’s how Hector was sent back to the first movie. Everything has been going according to plan. And the 6th movie ends with the Toby demon getting a full body. The had Hunter and the new little girl from this movie. Apparently they only needed a little bit of blood from each to finish the ritual and give the demon a physical body. Why did they need Hunter to be the first born male of the coven but took this random little girl without any connection beyond that they moved into a haunted house? Beats the hell out of me. I thought Hunter would be the vessel but nope. And we’ll never know what happened after that. Or how Jesse plays a role in it. Just that Toby won. Edit: oh apparently there’s a 7th idk what happens in that one. Didn’t even know it came out.

Ole keep the spooky reviews coming! the curse of the la Lloana (2019) from the conjuring series is a good follow up. Orr go old skool with the Dusk til Dawn movies. other than that i cant think of any other barrio horror flicks. even this review surprised me 👍

It’s been a long while since I’ve seen this film but I remember being somewhat into Paranormal Activity until this one dropped. After watching this way back, it was the only one I really liked & stopped watching the rest that came afterwards. Now whenever someone ask me about Paranormal Activity, I usually tell them to watch the first & Marked Ones. That ending tho, to this day still confuses me but really good twist/call back to the first paranormal activity.

We need more good Horror Hood movies. Ones that actually capture the essence of how real people living in the hood would actually react. That scene where they start blasting the witch ladies or w/e felt very believable. Kind of reminds me of that sort of zombie killing justification. "They're not people anymore, so take them out in any way possible."
