The Growler is that powerful you can't even turn on some of the "stuff" unless you are hundreds of miles away from population.

There are a limited number of jamming aircraft. They can't be everywhere at once. If you combine a stealth aircraft with a growler it is a force multiplier. The Growler is made more effective by the low observability of the self airplane whether it is an F-117, F-22 or the F-35.

Brian Olson With the very long range of the S-400 and S-300 (with even longer range for the S-500), the sideline suppression abilities of both the S-300 and S-400 radars, the Growler cannot be in aligned with all the radars that are capable of engaging all stealth aircraft. However, the abilities of the ‘group of EA-18G aircraft’ to accurately locate threat SAM sites and Early Warning radars will give Growler abilities well beyond that of the Prowler. Unfortunately the range of the Growler doesn’t give it the TOS that the Prowler had. It is a good aircraft, but could be better.....

The E/A-18G was designed for upgrading . With open architecture it will be easier and more cost effect to implement future upgrades like the new data link coming . Also do not forget about the EC-130 is used with the Growler . The F-35 does have a very capable EW suite , but full capabilities as you know are classified .
