I believe porn and the sexualization of women has a lot to do with it. It's been proven in scientific studies that porn lessens empathy towards rape victims.

If you treat sex as the be-all-end-all, you'll be greatly disappointed. Yes, sex in itself can be a great experience, but like any drug, the after-effects wear off. If you put sex on a pedestal, you'll never gain fulfillment. Too many people confuse sex as a form of validation of love. It most certainly isn't. It's a validation of lust and animal attraction, that's it. When people aren't taught properly about sex, it's no surprise that people will have misguided views of it. Education, especially about sex, is very important.

lonely/ marginalized people are very likely to join extremist groups/ mafia/ gangs. It gives them a sense of community, connection, and a sense of control of their life. Its empowering to be part of something, whatever that something is.

I once tried the whole "waiting until marriage" thing because I went to Catholic high school and college. I ended up losing my v-card at a very late age. Honestly, it's no big deal to be a virgin even at an older age. It's weird that sex has become its own social status, which I think drives the incel community.

Elliot rogers was very attractive, rich, had a rich famous dad, so for no one to want him he must have had a personality that was absolutely intolerable for him to be around or overlook. In my country, they recently did a study of over 1000 people and 70% of respondents aged 18-30 were virgins. It's not a huge sample size but anecdotally from people I know back home, I would agree with the results EDIT: Country is Malaysia and the study was done by Durex. I know a lot of comments are going to say that it's because religion/oppression but as an agnostic person who was born and raised in Malaysia, I would say that Malaysia is genuinely pretty progressive in some aspects (obviously with vast variation based on how urban or rural an area is + other socioeconomic factors). I live in a suburban equivalent area in one of the states that's considered to be more conservative. Conversations around sex by the younger generation is honestly very like "if it happens, it happens" and the generalized assumption (everywhere except maybe the capital) is most people up to the age of 18-20 are virgins and then it's just a 50-50 lmao

what I don't get about this hypermasculine worldview is, how are you supposed to like women/not be homosexual? If you view anything feminine with disgust (no flowers, no nice-smelling things, no pretty colours, etc.) and only embrace what is aggressively masculine, how are you supposed to suddenly switch hats and be intimate and loving with a soft, feminine woman? The interesting thing is: I see both political movements - online feminism/ifeminism (as opposed to all other types of feminism) and the manosphere as being two sides of the same traumatised, jaded coin. Both sides have very unhealthy views towards each other. I don't think the manosphere hates feminism because of the equality that it has brought women necessarily. I think it's more that they feel like women have an ego to them these days that they "dont deserve". They feel that this "ego" leads them to act in very liberated ways. As a result, I see the manosphere feels less able to control they circumstances around them. As women are being encouraged to be sexually liberated and independent girlbosses, the manosphere sees they feel like they can no longer trust women in an intimate relationship and this kills them emotionally. They tend to see society as being turned into a bunch of promiscuous degenerates, who value sex higher than everything, and are willing to forgo all dignity/morals to get it. At the end of the day, the reality is that their lack of trust in women is born from these people not seeking the right traits in a partner. They go for girls who are "hot", rather than going "I'm sexually attracted to that girl, but if I'm going to give my time to her, I need to be sure that she also has strength of character". They've been convinced that hot girl A has "high value" and that purely because of their physical attractiveness, their opinion of the sex appeal of others is given credibility/merit to the point of being a universal fact and their personal opinion holds weight. They don't have the ability to say: hot girl A broke up with/cheated on me because either A) I wasn't a good partner or B) she doesn't have good self-esteem and that she values the validation of others more than a building a relationship with one person. Often they also have this same self esteem problem and so attempt to sleep around with these types of women (and not a suitable woman), for the women's validation. Like attracts like.

I'm 40 and never even held hands with a woman. No woman my age has any interest in a man that has the sexual experience of a middle schooler. This is sad but I think it has to do with our world today the amount of information at our fingertips, sexualized content everywhere, the depiction of women in the pornography industry (which is really damaging), and having an unhealthy reaction to any romantic rejection.

I'm so glad there will always be video footage of the things these "men" (and i use that term very loosely) have said and how they feel about women. Because no matter how long away or how they attempt to "change" and hide their true feelings, there will always be proof of their true intentions.

Should also be noted the issue of how algorithms play into it due to that in order to make social platforms more addictive, they intentionally show you more of what you supposedly like to see, even if it’s not good by any metric. The problem with people who hold authoritarian views is that they see the world as a zero sum game. You either dominate or someone else will dominate you. People being equal is somehow viewed as an attack. It's unpinned by a huge amount of fragile narcissism and mental health issues.

Right wing and religious extremists are really crazy about all sexual issues, I don't know how to explain it if not because of their indoctrination and uneducation. this desire to transform women into objects, because it is "natural" or "moral", depending on their religion. And even, there is an incredible homophobia and this obsession with sex between men. This massive hatred. I don't know how to explain why these people are obsessed with other people's lives. The neurons in the brains of religious and other extremists are not connected. I really think that religion teaches them to dehumanize people who don't think like them, and see them as threats to be suppressed. what is certain is that they lose the conscience of respect towards the other.

As someone who fell into these communities after a particularly hard time, a lot of men seem to highlight “sex” as the ultimate form of validation and love. As they are insecure and usually have poor social skills; they seek these things out in toxic and dangerous ways. I think they overall just need help and rehabilitation. Help them understand that the world and the entire female sex isn’t out to get them. They authentically think that they are being marginalized by woman and you need to show them that it isn’t the case. Telling them that directly never works; they will just shut down the conversation. Doesn’t compute for them

There were a couple of times in my life when I had trouble meeting women & these were due to a range of issues I'd rather not go into here. But I never blamed women for this. These were my insecurities & problems & from the onset I understood that blaming others for my difficulties was not the way to go forward. I wanted to overcome them. Not wallow in them. Eventually everything worked out fine. Why some people feel the need to project their issues onto other people, to the point of becoming murderous, is beyond me. Probably the best approach to dealing with this behaviour is to teach people from a young age that sexual fulfillment is not necessarily the most important thing in life. They should also be warned not take other people's expectations of them. too seriously. Everybody is different. Some people engage with sex very early on. For others it may take a lot longer. Stop teaching young guys that they have to be sexual dynamos to be men.

I have a brother whose claim is that he's a victim of the women's movement, and that's why he hasn't been able to work for the last 15+ years while he sits, alone, on his computer in my Mom's basement 24/7/365 at 38. I have always sought the correct wording for his ideology, as he's not exactly a full Incel. Vice introduced me to the 'manosphere' and it's lingo, and I am forever grateful for this. I am always afraid that he's going to pick up guns and shoot his way to the end, but there's absolutely no one to contact that will put him on a Watch list. When I contacted the local police (Kenosha, Wisconsin) after one of his violent episodes where he inflicted self harm (and threatened to frame his sister for it), they did absolutely nothing to help get my Mom or myself safely away from him. Their response to his self inflicted injuries was that it wasn't a crime, and encouraged me to get as far away from him as possible. Literally, every mass shooting I hold my breath and become frantic until I am certain that it hasn't occured in my own state. If it hasn't happened in my state, it's not him. He's not a matter of If, but a matter of When. There's absolutely no one in this country that gives a hoot about shutting down this kind of violence. He spends his days grooming the young men on 4chan, Discord and reddit, preparing them for violence against women. For the record, my brother has physically injured my mother in his fits of rage with his fists. He has killed several of my pets over the course of my life. My mother is afraid to leave her home without her dog, because she doesn't believe that the dog will still be alive when she returns. And there's literally no one who will either put him on a Watch list for weapons purchasing or protect my mother by getting him out of her home. I cannot have a relationship with my own mother, because her close relationship with my brother could very well lead to deadly violence for me and my female partner. This. Is. Life. In. America.

Violence is never the answer. As a society, we have a problem. Unrealistic standards, pornography addiction, and the rise of narcissism and bullying from social media have all contributed to this. Mens mental health needs to be better taken care of. A lack of support leads to people seeking help in other places - mostly online - around people with bad intentions. It is too easy to fall down a bad path and become radicalised on the internet

We need each other, men complete women and women complete men, we are made for each other. But I must say, I am not for some female dominance, because women can very difficult, their weaknesses can create havoc and they need men's aid, it comes down to again, we need each other and complete each other, united to help each other build and create life.

I genuinely feel bad for these men because it’s clear that their parents dropped the ball somewhere. It’s extremely important to teach your children how to socialize, how to be likable, how to develop a personality, how to be interesting and curious, how to have coping skills, how to deal with disappointment, how to overcome challenges and how to make goals in your life. Essentially, with INCELS, I see a bunch of insecure men who were not given the proper tools to develop themselves is a way that makes them an attractive and high-value person in society. And trust me, these men probably don’t only struggle with women, they probably struggle with forming friendships with men too. I once dated a guy who was extremely attractive but had a drinking problem. I later found out all of his siblings had drinking problems. I later discovered that their drinking was a way to disguise their social anxiety and poor social skills. When I met his parents, I realized very quickly where they got it from. Their parents isolated themselves from society and moved to a town with a population of 200 people because they didn’t like interacting with people. The mom was super anxious all the time and the dad was rude and damn near a misogynist. Their kids were really doomed from the start. They picked up all of their parents poor social skills and used alcohol as a way to help them endure it.

Part of me wants to laugh at these people but considering they're so hysterical about gender roles and sex and whatever the hell else, to the point of murdering people, I honestly can't help but laugh as a fear response.

Having spent years in the shooting sports I have had contact with some who I found were attracted to guns because it gave them a sense of power over their own low self-esteem. Lot of them are angry that woman reject them in reality they are not attracting because they expect woman to want them.

People keep telling me to find a girlfriend or to pay to have sex. Even my own family told me that. That says it all. We live in society in which those who do not meet certain conditions are declared losers. It is not a matter of shifting responsibility from one's own back to others, but society must take some of the responsibility.

So many men believing the same thing makes me wonder if there is actually a problem with women.

I think the problem will continue to rise and expedite if we don't help these people or otherwise they'll seek a community that welcomes them and validate them with these incel like tendency.
