Boston has a half BILLION dollars wrapped up in Taytum and Brown. Have Porzingis, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White. Have future hall of famer Al Horford. Philly has Embiid, George, Maxey. Knicks have Brunson, Bridges, Randle, Robinson AND OG. But Pacers are In crisis mode now that Obi was signed to 15 mill per and have to sign Nembhardt, Turner and Tj. I agree with this Guy. Just get them to sign contracts and worry about all this other stuff later. Just sign the players Pacers brass believes Will get them another deep playoff run.

I know in this show you discussed about on that amount of salary no one is better that Nesmith. I would say that Jonathan Kuminga is a much better 3 that Nesmith. He can also play the 4 if needed. So finding a way to trade Toppin or Nesmith to get JK would benefit the pacers in the long run aswell. In the next season they would have a space to re-sign TJ or Nemhard. To be a backup point guard. Then maybe Furphy could be the backup 3.

@kalu8652 Месяц назад
@@julianfoddrell9370 Nembhard is lowkey, in the same situation that Haliburton was in. A young PG playing SG because the team he's drafted to already has a star PG. He wants to be here and isn't causing issue just like Ty was in Sac, but we all saw what happened. Ty was way too valuable and the Kings traded him for a an all star player in return. Same thing could happen with Andrew, he's just so valuable to a team that needs a PG. He's a 20/8 player that defends if he's the starter. He may just be way too valuable to avoid trading him for an upgrade elsewhere. And we have Nesmith who can easily slide to the 2 and he's much better at the 2 than the 3.

@kalu8652 Месяц назад
Nah, you need a 3&D SG next to Haliburton. You don't trade Nesmith if you trade Nembhard, Nesmith is one of the best 3&D SGs in the league on a cheap deal. He's not going anywhere IMO. I would just trade Nembhard and Obi and try to get an elite 3&D SF.
@WizopIndy

@@kalu8652 I think that may be Mathurin's spot to lose although Sheppard or even Nesmith could win the competition. We have no cost control with Nembhard since he wasn't a first round pick that can be extended at a reasonable price. we can't afford to give him the same money as Turner.
@kalu8652
@kalu8652 Месяц назад
@@WizopIndy I agree Nembhard is the most likely to be traded. Nesmith can do 2 things Mathurin has yet to show in the NBA, catch and shoot 3s and defense. He just fits so much better with Haliburton than Mathurin does. I love Mathurin, but if he doesn't become a good defender, he has no future on this team beyond being a 6th man.
@robroy33in
@robroy33in Месяц назад
Lol, Mathurin is only 22 years old, a complete stud, and already averages 15 points a game, and still learning to defend and create. Nesmith is best defender but can’t create like Mathurin. Nesmith strictly a catch and shoot at the 3 point line, get him to move and % drops considerably, simply leave at the sf, Walker at 3/4 off the bench. Leave Sheppard to backup Mathurin, move Nembhard and salary for future picks and a future salary dump.

I feel like when you are a small market team you cant afford to overpay role players. You have to invest heavily in the top of your roster and find high value role players/bench players. A good example of this is the Nuggets. Last year, they let Bruce Brown walk. This year the let KCP walk. They are good players but they are replacable. We are kind of at this point with McConnell and Obi. Thats 25 million dollars next year.
@clytnjms
@clytnjms Месяц назад
Mcconnel is the best backup point guard in the NBA and Pacers would have been a 10 seed without Him. Obi has a very unique skillset and was a huge part of the Pacers having the number one bench in the league.
@kalu8652
@kalu8652 Месяц назад
Kinda hard to say those were good moves by the Nuggets until we see how the next 5 years goes for them. Letting KCP and Brown go just so their owner can save money may be the reason they only win 1 championship. If the Celtics let their 4th and 5th best players walk, I don't think they'd be able to repeat either. Those guys are important. It's just hard to keep them without paying the tax, because if your 4th and 5th best players are good, they are gonna get paid. It's going to come down to the Ownership being willing to pay the tax or we arent going to compete, it's as simple as that.
@79glane928
@79glane928 Месяц назад
@@clytnjmsI disagree with that. I think Nembhard is a much better PG and was played out of position to accomodate TJ. I think he is a very good player but I think Pacers fans over value him a little because they love his style of play.

@@clytnjmson Obi....again I never said these guys werent good players but overpaying good players is not good for a team like the Pacers who have limited resources. They are already capped out.
