I think it’s equally hilarious when fans think that this is peak basketball. Fans that think offense was horrible, in previous era’s, when it was other factors like pace and what the rules allow. Yes in the playoffs, the intensity rises, it gets more competitive. It’s just not the lack of defense during the regular season. It’s the lack of competitive play, the lack of intensity. The load management, and the players non chalant attitude towards the game. Especially on defense. Even in the so called horrible era’s. I never stopped watching the game ~ and the playoffs the intensity has always risen in intensity ~ nothing new. The other factors are what fans complain about. From my perspective, in the regular season, you can’t really tell who’s an alpha, because of the rules, the officiating, and how easy it is to score. In the playoffs, when the players have more resistance, and it’s more difficult to score, that’s when fans can see who’s really good. The way fans view the game, is narrated by the media and players themselves, most of whom are apathetic when it comes to playing defense ~ you know like Lebron, Gilbert, and the millions of fans who they’ve influenced.
