As a former Premil I really appreciate this. I used to lose so much sleep over the End Times but realizing that the Left Behind version of events is unbiblical has given me an immeasurable amount of peace.
I realized that the premil mindset, combined with Southern Baptist presuppositions about retreat from institutional, is precisely why I was irrationally skeptical of all institutions. This is unfortunately a pervasive idea in the boomer generation particularly. It's pop culture Christianity. My parents and their siblings are obsessed with the book of Revelation in a very negative and unhealthy way. They are very focused on the negative, scary stuff, and totally ignore the point of the book: Jesus wins.

@@LTDLimiTeD1995 Every Baptist church will have it written on their "what we believe in" page because every Baptist believe in the rapture. Everyone is free to make their own branch of Christianity, but that's what we Baptists believe in (If you don't, then you are not a Baptist).
I was speaking with an older Christian, who came to Christ during the Jesus Revolution. He describe both himself and others he knew delaying things like getting married and having children because of the many dire eschatological predictions of the time. He really felt that the doomsday obsession killed a lot of the momentum from the Jesus Revolution.

I still remember Billy Graham's words about "Time is short." "Time for studying, do it now. Time for evangelizing, do it now. Time for witnessing to someone, do it now." Sometimes, people believing in Rapture affected me thinking that it is not possible to build Kingdom of God and that Kingdom of God are only true, loyal churches that are like God's outposts or bases. Billy Graham taught subtle works salvation. Repent doesn't mean turning from sin it means changing your mind. God repented in the bible and he without sin, and God views turning from sin as works.

There are two types of deeds: 1)physical -> feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, visit the sick, visit the imprisoned or ransom the captive and bury the dead. 2) spiritual -> instruct the ignorant, counsel the doubtful, admonish the sinners, bear patiently those who wrong us, forgive offenses, comfort the afflicted and pray for the living. @@silvio1894I am not trying to start an argument just challenging you to think. If salvation is not by faith alone that would mean it is partially dependent on ourselves. Which is not the case, salvation is all about Jesus what he has done. He lived the perfect life we could never. Saying that salvation is partly on our works takes away from what Jesus has done. It would also mean that there is a line of amount of works to do to be saved. Which the thief on the cross would have to have crossed the line. A man who did no works was saved on the cross. Salvation is by faith alone so we do not boast. If we are to boast it is only about the Lord and what he has done. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 I wholeheartedly believe if you are saved you will have a desire to go and serve and tell people the gospel and do works. We are saved by faith, but we are justified by works and Paul wrote in his epistle that we should "work for our salvation." From my experience, I know that it is not simply salvation by faith alone. The only situation where it can be by faith alone is that the person who does not have a lot of time on earth left, the only thing he/she could do is to put solely their faith in Christ alone, regarding their situation (old age, medical condition, etc...). God will judge that person for his/her work. We Christian did go from judgement to life by accepting Christ Jesus. But would you say that we are not to be judged for our works because of our faith being justified by work or purely faith alone? I ask because they are two separate concepts. My thoughts exactly. I believe in the rapture but the fact that we aren't supposed to know the time and date means we have to live our Christian lives as best we can, not to be riddled with anxiety and obsess over when it'll happen

My general opinion on the matter is that if someone says that the end will be at a certain day/time/week/etc. you can bet it’s not going to be when they say.

My fear is that many might lose faith in times of hardship. They'll expect to be raptured away before persecution. If the Church were to face it, many will fall away.

Dispensationalism isn’t even literal. A very literal reading of Revelation would give you historic premillennialism. Dispensationalism is just bad theology.
A Roman general’s victory parade is a great image of Jesus’ return and our being raptured up to meet Him. Another image and even direct type of this is His triumphal entry. When Jewish people flocked out of Jerusalem to meet Him as He came down from the mountain and then went back into the city with Him. Which is also what you see in Zechariah 14. Personally I am compelled by Scripture to hold the historic premillennial position. Pretrib dispensationalism concerns me, especially in its more extreme forms.
I hate aguing about eschatology, so i refuse to label myself anything, but i generally agree with amillennialism. But historic pre-millennialism is very respectable in my opinion, and really is totally different from dispensational pr-millennialism.
Same. I'm a semi-preterist post tribulation amillenial. When Christ comes back, that's it. Christians will be taken up to heaven with Jesus and those left behind will burn in hell and sin is defeated.

My church (southern baptist) did a 9-month series on Revelation, and throughout they kept an updated "end times timeline" in which the rapture was just assumed to be on there, even though there is nothing in Revelation that suggests a rapture at all.

Cathoilic here, I was pretty surprised that Presbyterians don't believe in raputre. I thought that most of the prostestant churches teach this - but I like to be educated.
I have always thought of being a Christian as doing God's work on earth, while we're here in our short lives, as opposed to spreading the word just to "get into" heaven. Also I believe we're all coming back to this earth after the second coming and evil is destroyed. Why would this world be left to burn when it's been our job for 2000 years to prepare the earth?

@@kriegjaeger sure, except that in lots of circles the term rapture is only used by people who believe in a pre-trib rapture, it's not like there is a ton of nuance to the word "Lord". People know what you mean when you say "Christ is Lord", but if you say "I believe in the rapture" in most places i have been, people will assume you are a pre-trib dispensationalist, cuz that is the only people they have heard use the term Rapture. Literally didn't know until I read through this comment section that people use the term Rapture to mean anything other than a secret coming of Christ in a pre-trib or mid-trib sense. So ya, Zoomer definitely could have clarified his title in the first few minutes of the vid, and so he definitely didn't communicate as well as he could have, but it's not near as egregious as you are making it sound, and is actually a very understandable mistake in my opinion.

The problem is that if you believe it or not is that we can’t put the time what’s gonna happen my dad does that He says we have only 10 years…. And I’m like “how do you know that? Did you had a revelation?” So our issue is to add a time and start to do things….i get so pissed when he talks to people about the “10 year time frame” we do not know!!!!
I believe in the rapture (nondenominational). Couple things I want to clarify from the video is I don’t know anyone that thinks the rapture is a secret or private event. Secondly, the apostle Paul believed in the rapture in 2 Thesolonians. Thirdly, I don’t know anyone that hides because of the rapture but rather they see it as an urgent situation and use it to evangelize more.
Where in 2 Thessalonians does it say he believes in the rapture? I read it all but don’t really see it definitely confirming the rapture specifically vs just talking about the second coming of Christ.
I've heard my pastor preach on the world denying the rapture during the tribulation. But I do agree that not all rapture teaching discourages ignoring the world. Still, this video gets me thinking.
I would advise people to be wary of someone like Redeemed Zoomer who have a educational theological backing to what they're saying but a limited biblical literacy. The question should not be "does it make sense" but rather, "does God teach it in his book?" He has a good secular view on what each denomination "believes" which is basically the backbone of his channel, but regarding theology he's more or less regurgitating man-made philosophy. But that is what attracts, for entertainment. It is much less popular to study the book. When you spend too much time reading commentaries, and theological philosophies on what you should believe, you end up not really studying the bible on your own and imparting what your own wisdom suggests to you. This is where you make erroneous statements that amount to "belief in the rapture caused the failure of Christianity in the west" ??? Your decision to believe something should be based on whether God said it is so in his book - not whether it "makes sense" to your limited human mind. Biblically - the world is a sinking ship (2 Timothy 3) - the knowledge that the rapture could happen at any moment should encourage us to build up spiritually. Everything you are building that is owrthless to God will be burnt up, not rewarded. What are you building your spirit with? 1 Corinthians 3:14-15. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. The humanist notion of "making the world a better place" is a weird obsession from an inexperienced Christian and trends towards more and more liberal views of the bible if you can't get deeper in the scripture to correct this. It is truly extremely misguided as a Christian goal. I would challenge anyone to find anywhere in the bible that suggests we are to "make the world a better place" as if our own agency had any part in that. What is our goal as Christians to do with this limited time? Is it feeding the homeless? Building more universities where people can learn to become atheists? You do someone a disservice if you only feed them but never teach them about Christ. Christ in you. What was Paul concerned about? I’m a pan-millennial. Whatever happens it will pan out in the end because Jesus wins. Strive to further the kingdom wether you are going to heaven tomorrow or years from now. shouldn’t change how you act.
Amen. I'm an amillenial, but if the rapture does turn out to be true, you better be ready for it. Regardless Christ is coming back. Treat every second like He could come back right now. Follow His commands and spread the gospel.
If anything the rapture theology should encourage us to take creation of churches and education seriously, feels like a mindset of selfishness and fear when in reality the second coming is a final redemption, everything in excess is bad, I like the video. keeping Christ first not the anti christ

I thought I was going crazy for being the only person at my church who didn't believe in the Rapture... always thought it was very sensationalist and unnecessary. It’s my understanding the context of Thessalonians was to encourage those there because there were Christian’s who died and they were worried about them and Christ’s second coming. But I think this is a secondary issue no matter what Christ is King and I do love that redeemed zoomer pointed out how we should focus on making things better in our world not just so focused on the rapture I agree that Christian’s can get caught up in that, I wasn’t even trying to make a joke but you get my point 🤣
As someone raised Methodist (Salvation Army,) and Presbyterian, and now closest to Baptist, thanks a ton! I came across the infamous "Left Behind" books as a young teen and was taken in by the idea presented. I do feel like sometimes the biggest vocals supporters of it don't know what it is to actually suffer and for it to be incurable (for reference I'm visually impaired,( because it's gets tiring hearing about when I know as a genuine Christian that my earthly disability will be gone the instant I take my last breathe. They also seem to not understand how grief works for nonbelievers, since the authors behind those books acted like the "left behind" loved ones finding thier family member gone would somehow lead them to ask God to forgiveness. Not saying it's impossible, just really unlikely.

It demonstrates misunderstanding about the condition of the soul in the context of eschatology / final judgement. People like to think that everyone will turn to Christ once they realize salvation and damnation are real, but we know from scripture that's not true.
This is an interesting timing for this video to say the least... I'm not as certain about rapture theology as I once was after hearing R C Sproul say that the rapture imagery that I have taken literally may be figurative which would explain why the details of the 1 Thess passage seem different. However evangelicals have also said things about how the national of Israel today is a miracle, so I really don't have a firm opinion anymore.

Apostle Thomas entered India via Malabar coast in AD 54.There is a strong Syrian Christian presence ever since but largely muted due to syncretism. And then catholics did a tremendous Job in 14,15 th centuries followed by Danish Lutherans. So, there is a very strong presence of main line denominations which in fact is Modern India's DNA. But American Evangelicalism came around 1960's which introduced word of faith,dispensational theology,..among many others.Indian church then started inward looking and became individualistic. I am a Lutheran myself who tried different churches. Now, I am realising the need for age old whole gospel which can transform India. Persecution is much in North India which is highly illeterate and casteist. It's getting intense with hindu rightwing government and elections around the corner.
I think it's important to differentiate between the event of the rapture and the timing of the rapture. The word "rapture" comes from the Latin word for the Greek word for caught up (ἁρπάζω (harpazō)), which is rapiemur in the Latin Vulgate in 1 Thessalonians 4:17, so while the word doesn't show up in the Greek, it's certainly a biblical concept. With that said, the timing of the rapture is the issue. I'm not so sure that it is pre-trib, like I used to believe. With that said, I am Premillennial in my Eschatology. Many in the early Church held to Premillennialism, such as Papias of Hierapolis, Justin Martyr, Irenaeus of Lyons, Methodius, Lactantius, Commodianus, Theophilus, Tertullian, Melito, Hippolytus of Rome and Victorinus of Pettau, so if anyone tells that you that none of the early Church or the fathers believed in a thousand year reign of Christ on this Earth, then that is straight-up false.
Everyone believes in a thousand year reign of christ on earth, be it physically or spiritually. Historic pre-mill is very different from what modern pre-mills believe, and especially problematic for the pre-trib sect; Irenaeus believed the fiery purge (great tribulation) would purify believers

Alright, before you dive into the comments, understand that there is a lot of issues with terminology going on. Zoomer may have made an honest mistake because he used the word "Rapture" only to refer to a pre-trib or mid-trib rapture. Apparently, and i hadn't ever really heard of this so i understand why Zoomer also missed it, there are also lots of people who believe in precisely what Zoomer is saying about the Thessalonians passage, that being that this "being caught up" will happen at the same time as his second coming, but they still use the word Rapture to describe the event. So, lots of people are angry about him saying blatantly that "the Rapture isn't biblical". Now, just to explain it to those who do not know, most churches, and probably all Presbytarian churches, who don't believe in a pre-trib or mid-trib (so i geuss post-trib?) Rapture do not even use the word Rapture. It is like a foreign term to a lot of people that is used only when talking about pre or mid-trib Rapture theology. I imagine the same goes for Zoomer, and he genuinely just thought everyone would know what he meant when he used the word Rapture.
Agreed, if he could at least mention that "maybe not all Baptists believe this" that would be good enough. Cuz he is definitely right that the Left Behind view is the most common view among Baptists. But I know of some historic Baptists that don't accept it.
The main reason Christians believe these things is because of one person: Pastor John Hagee. You should go back and watch as many of his sermons as possible, all the way back to the 70/80s and then make a video about it. Maybe title it: "John Hagee's End of the World: Debunked"

I believe some promises to Israel really are for the nation of Israel and not the church. What does Jesus refer to when He says “When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near.”? Also isn’t the Antichrist going to rule in Jerusalem?
I’m fairly skeptical of dispensationalism, but I’m not very knowledgeable of the different theological views of Israel and the Jewish people. I think that the promises toward Israel should be taken seriously, particularly because many of those promises were fulfilled in Christ. I also believe that the Church is the spiritual extension of Israel, God’s chosen people including Jews and Gentiles alike. The question is whether non-believing Jews and the State of Israel are part of the spiritual Israel. I suspect the answer is more nuanced than a simple no, and not yes either. I’m inclined to believe that the Jews as a people, including unbelieving Jews, are still blessed by God as descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And I also think the State of Israel still has a big part to play in God’s plan. But I don’t believe that the State of Israel is part of the spiritual Israel, and it is very diseased culturally and politically. It is the Holy Land, but I think the Land of Israel still has a long way to go before it is acceptable in the eyes of the Lord. Still, I think it’s evident in recent history that God has blessed and supported the rise of the Jewish state, despite its immense troubles and afflictions. For whatever reason. And I can’t claim to know that reason.

And do I need any other example than the 6 Day War in 1967 when Israel defeated Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, and captured the West Bank, Golan Heights, Gaza, and the entire Sinai Peninsula, all in 6 days flat? I see it as a clear indication of the hand of God.
My biggest issue was trying to find where the rapture happens in Revelation. All the interpretations were so forced. Then I found Amillennialism, thought it made sense and haven't left since :)
@@dannyboy7237 I’m also a partial preterist. I believe the majority of events in Revelation have already taken place, as this is something Jesus hints towards in Matthew 24:34. With that in mind, I also believe Jesus has started His reign in Heaven. A constant theme throughout the Gospels and Epistles is the coming of Christ kingdom. It is not a future thing but something that has already taken place. He now reigns in Heaven as we await His return

@@dannyboy7237If you read revelation as a 21st century American, yes, it may seem like that. Revelation was written 2,000 years ago by a Jew to other Jews. You must read the book according to the literary genre, not how you read a letter from the IRS. Ask yourself if the insane imagery is actually taken to be literal.
You should do a video about postmil and amil. A lot of “postmil” guys like inspiring philosophy really sound more like optimistic amils. The difference between the two can seem pretty murky.
Many Christians I know believe in the rapture and do not hold these opinions. In fact they take it as a challenge to invite as many people to Christ as they can because we never know when He will return. Great video with some things for other believers to chew on
Same. This is why I prefer to call it the “exit-resurrection” rather than “rapture” due to its connotation. And “Left Behind” sure has done the most damage in wrecking the doctrinal purpose behind this concept.
I'm a Baptist and I tried to talk to my Pastor about how the rapture wasn't real but he just brushed. it off and was like no I don't believe that and just ignored me. It's weird how ingrained it is in Baptist churches
SBC attender here, when interviewed by members before being put in place, our current pastor said, among other things that he "does not expect it", which surprised me, but that I really appreciate.

Problem with your video here is you ASSUMED that christians believe in a PRE-Tribulation rapture (those who believe in a rapture). There are MANY christians who believe the rapture happens AT the second coming. Not secretly.
And that it is public but people are deceived and accept the lie over the truth; 2 Thessalonians 2:9 9 This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. 10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. 11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. 12 Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.
The Rapture is Biblical but many churches do not understand it well or use it for something that does not glorify Christ in the first place. I think people who believe that the rapture is real, even so people who do NOT believe it is real, should study the Bible and the rapture a bit more until confirming or opposing it.

Our LORD promised to protect us from the wrath to come! @@albertafarmer8638 I wouldn't say it isn't inspired by God but it really has no importance. The main reason it was left out was due to how late it was written compared to everything else. I personally haven't read much of it but I don't think I remember seeing anything blasphemous or contradictory to the actual New Testament.

There's always nuance people tend to miss because it requires careful thought and study. The early church expected (And acted) as though Christ would return any moment but this meant acting as good servants until the end. Paul even had to write to calm some people down as some were claiming Christ had already returned and they had been left behind or missed his coming.
I’m not trying to push a pro rapture viewpoint, but the interpretation of Matt. 24 v39 is a bad argument. 1) The parallel passage in Luke 17 v29 teaches the exact opposite, that those who leave or are taken out (Lot and his fam were taken out by the angels) were spared and those who were left were destroyed. Basing the interpretation off of Matthew’s record is cherry picking which account supports the best. 2) Two different words are used for “took”. The second usage can also be interpreted as received, it’s the same word used when Jesus said in John 14 v3 “(…) I will come again and receive you to Myself”. 3) The following parable of the ten virgins, it’s the foolish virgins who are left behind. There are other ones I could get into, but the longer the comment the less likely anyone is to read it haha. This isn’t a rebuttal, there are valid issues one can bring up.
Bible never ever says " God takes " un righteous. Simple as that. If God takes, He does in-justice. Only people's own sins, iniquities & Satanic activities can kill people and taken out from Heaven. Can you show one instance in the Bible says that God takes up un righteous from earth ?.

Okay I’m not a rapture believer but I think there’s a problem with using the “no one know the day or the hour” quote to disprove it because it seems to be more in reference to a Jewish wedding than a serious promise because it also implies that The Holy Spirit does not know the day or the hour, but he does

For most my time i upheld to the theology of amillenialism, but recently my view changed because of a chapter in 2 thessalonicans 2:1-7. It talkes about the lawless one, and in verse 7 it says he will not be revealed until the one who keeps him back will be taken away. And i feel that what would make modt sense regarding the context of the verse would be that thr one keeping the lawless one away would be the Holy Ghost, and thus the church. Hi. I had just watched your good video on the Trinity, but I am sad to see that you don't believe in the rapture. I am born again for 18 years and I am 63 years old, and my channel was started because of my first rapture dream on 3/16/2017. If you really want to learn the Scriptures that say that rapture is true, I have videos showing the verses and the difference between the rapture and the 2nd Coming. You may also believe the church has replaced Israel, but it hasn't. That is known as the false teaching of replacement theology. The rapture happens so after the church/born again Christians both Jew and Gentile are caught up/harpazo'd (1 Thessalonian 4, 1 Corinthians 15), then the Tribulation begins which is also known as Daniel's 70th week (seven years) or Jacob's Trouble for God to bring the Jews to Himself. The church isn't mentioned in Revelation after Revelation 3. The rapture is in Revelation 4:1. It's our Blessed Hope- Titus 2:11-15. The promise Jesus gave is John 14:1-4 to take us to heaven. Luke 21:36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to ESCAPE all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Also you are Reformed, so there are other false teachings including infant baptism, antisemitism and the big one for me is that you can divorce and remarry. The Bible says that you CAN'T divorce and remarry, but Martin Luther said that you could divorce and wait 2-10 years before remarrying. That is heresy. The churches are full of adulterers and pastors who teach serial polygamy. God says that marriage is only one man to one woman for one lifetime.
Redeemed Zoomer, can you cover the genealogy in Genesis? I am a fellow believer that Evolution, to at least some extent, is true and our earth isn’t 6000-7000 years old. However, the Genealogy does provide some pushback. Would love your input. I know you briefly covered it in your evolution video but you didn’t get too deep in this specifically. Thanks!
I don't think so maybe Adam was 7000 thousand years old maybe the bible only talked about people who were important just like Matthew skipped a few kings in his genealogy

@@texastech56789 It’s also, how much time actually passed before God created Adam? We know on what day of creation of the earth, but we don’t know how much time is between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:5. Time was created when God created night and day. So logically you can come up with that argument.

Because from my point of view, and millions of others, scripture describes our Earth as much, much older. When did Satan get cast out of heaven? Unless you’re willing to claim the Serpent isn’t Satan, you’re misled. When did the war in Heaven take place? The Bible describes multiple heavens. Our sky. Space. And heaven where God resides. Which one is in Exodus 20:11? These are questions that you should ask yourself because you come off as aggressive as you are.

It's crazy I'm a catholic but my wife is not. She and I came to a compromise to take the kids to mass and then to this non denom church that she likes. As soon as we went the pastor breaks out Daniel 8 and starts talking rapture. I just hung my head.... 20 mins in and he's going on about bad popes, 20 more mins in and he's talking about false religions that insist you must earn salvation. It was a 2 hour service and felt like a week. It felt like I was listening to a catholic apologist answering com.on myths about the church except they didn't get past listing the myths lol. At least he didn't say we believe baptism saves apart from faith like zoomer constantly says. Still that rapture stuff is so cringey! So hard to sit through.
Well I'm not very educated in this matter and I do not know the official RCC position on baptism being necessary for salvation, but you certainly can't deny that there are a large number of Catholics who do believe that one cannot be saved unless they are baptized. Unless you're trying to say that you believe baptism is required alongside faith in order to be saved?
@shanezarcone5401 Yeah I've heard zoomer say at least twice in his videos that Presbyterians believe in pedobaptism but unlike catholics, they believe faith is a neccessary component. It's such a weird thing to say.... and totally untrue. Of course we believe faith is a neccessary component of baptism. Idk where that one comes from
As a Baptist, I firmly believe in the pretribulation rapture, but agree with many of your criticisms of those who do in general. I think, though, that the primary root of the problem isn't the belief in it, but the idea of a failsafe prediction that it's happening immediately. I believe it could, and have a few theories myself on what years are high-watch times, but it's entirely possible I could live seventy more years and not see the day. When taken in balance, the idea of the rapture can have very positive effects: one wants to be found serving the Lord when He comes. But that could apply to most any eschatology except preterism, so... Big deal. Urgent evangelism can be a good part of "Rapture culture" if done right. What isn't appropriate is setting dates when Jesus will probably or certainly come. It puts him not even in a box, but on a one-dimensional line segment. Side note: the Noah comparison doesn't have to disprove the rapture. As to the words "took" and "taken," they're entirely different: Airo for the flood, and Paralambano for the woman taken. The English alignment is coincidental. I, for one, hold that since we don't know when the Rapture will occur, we should plan strategically for the furtherance of Christ's work in this age, while striving to reach the harvest that as few as possible experience the horrors of the next.
