It's an open secret that conf tourneys are a farce in basketball as well as baseball. Id've rather had the reg season title, that paper championship's only valuable if you're fighting for a spot in the tourney that actually matters.
As noted in the video, I hope we can avoid the injury bug in Hoover. We've had more than enough this yr. I also hope we can avoid slumps in Hoover and guys like Wegner and Josenberger can get out of slumps while we're there.
Hoover is a big party for the fans at the end of the regular season. Hoover is awesome if your team isn't one of those that craps their pants in the playoffs after a good regular season.
For real, we should just skip the season and tournament every year. The more baseball we play, the more tired we get and injuries will add up. Let's just go straight to the regionals really fresh.
@@finchborat You're correct. In the last 20 seasons, twice has an SEC tournament champion gone on to win the National title (09 LSU & 19 Vandy). In that same stretch, 6 other SEC teams won national titles. In the SEC tournament, those 6 teams went 0-2, 1-2, 1-2, 2-1, 0-2 and 0-2.
@@stewhog That is true. Also, I decided to expand on your stats and looked at the numbers going back to 2013 (when you had the current SEC Tournament format and A&M and Mizzou in the conference). Here are the numbers when you go back to 2013: 0-fer: 21 teams (11 made the Supers (52.3%), 6 went to Omaha (28.5%), and 2 won it all (9.5%)) 3 and out: 23 teams (15 made the Supers (65.2%), 12 went to Omaha (52.1%), and 2 won it all (8.6%)) 4 or more: 35 teams (19 made the Supers (54.2%), 12 went to Omaha (34.2%), and 1 won it all (2.8%)) Aside from slight changes, the numbers are roughly the same and your point remains the same.
Stewhog, this was a great video. I have been subscribed to your channel for about 2 years now and I love it but I also hate the shit out of your channel because you only post Arkansas W’s I think it would be a lot better if you just posted all the games 😊
