Another great review Chris. I didn't know the movement was tested on the space station. This piece is definitely a stunner especially that blue GMT and gliding seconds hands. Love my Luxe SNR029 and would recommend any of the LX family to any hi end watch enthusiast.
I just bought the SNR025 - the Landmaster version of the Prospex LX. I used to be a navigator, so I love the compass bezel and the GMT hand helps find North (point it at the sun, and North is at 12). Love the watch on my 19.5cm wrist, and love watching the sweep second hand.
Excellent review! Wearing a Tudor Black Bay Harrods edition. Lucky to get it after two years. Love this Seiko and wish it had GS logo but happy that I was able to get one. You’re right it’s one of the best Seiko watches.
What a great review, I was surprised to see a jeweller’s channel come out with something of this quality and you’ve definitely earned a sub. This watch has shot up my shortlist in the last few days, I need a Spring Drive!
Thank you so much! We really take pride in our content, and are not hiding the fact that we are an AD. When you are ready, we do still have an SNR049 in stock so please think of us, or let me know if you have any questions -- and perhaps we will meet in the future! -Chris
@@Littletreasury thanks for that kind response Chris. I’m about 2 years out on my watch savings so not making any move as yet but will absolutely consider you guys when the time comes - depending what the customs situation is then as I’m UK based.
I think you should do the new format for a few more videos and see how you feel about it. I think it was better and I’m glad you’re taking the time to refine and experiment!
Good video! Regarding your question about Seiko versus GS logos, I personally prefer the Seiko logo. I purchase watches based on features and looks, not to show off. This watch is quite impressive, cool features and an out of this world colour scheme, although I'm skeptical whether I can comfortably wear a watch of that size. If it was more affordable, I might be seriously interested.
Lovin that Batman....I mean Sky. Think to big for my skinny wrist. If it had GS on the dial would that cost an extra $2-$3k? Wore my GS SGBN005 during work earlier. Now at home giving my Prospex SPB207 some wrist time. Why? Cause one watch winder is not enough and the Bremont is on it. Seriously though I'm lovin the green dial and red/white seconds hand of the 140th anni x piece. Chris see you at next weeks Bremont in store event.
You need a bigger winder!! I was thinking this should be called the Batfleck because it is a big buff looking batman. Did you sign up already on the site for Bremont by the way?
Nice watch. However not much attention to detail when the chapter ring is misaligned. At 5.5k you would think seiko would be able to get it right. I’d go nuts if I bought this on line and find misalignment issues at that price
Excellent question referencing GS on this piece. I prefer to go with value on the Prospex LX over GS brand which would probably be bump up $$$. What’s the difference between SNR033J1 compared to SNR049? Almost identical w/exception is a $300-400 difference.
I have this watch. Just started wearing this week. I actually like the Seiko logo over GS only because I don’t like the Old English style font of GS. I think the simple Seiko at the top of the dial works best - at least for me. This watch feels modern and that logo does not
Great review. Bolder, sportier, and more modern looking than GS sports GMT. Isn't the chapter ring designed to be continuous, non clicking, so can be offset as slightly as you want. Not a quality problem as some noted below. India is 30min offset. Nepal is 45min offset.
i guess it wouldn't be a seiko if the chapter rings and indices and/or bezel lined up perfectly. :D still an awesome looking watch though. great review.
Hey Chris! I’m in a GS and LX desert where I live. So I wonder more how you feel about GS vs an LX? The SGBE255 vs this LX would be a great comparison… do you feel like it’s not worth the extra money for GS in that case? Thanks!
I do not understand why Seiko or should I say GS is letting Seiko use a springdrive in a watch other than GS as with other Seiko models for that matter too. why? I like it but 5500 for Seiko. You asked if it had a GS on it. I think it doesn't matter other than value long term. After all it is a GS movement. I'm sure GS owners are not very happy with Seiko using a spring drive.
I guess nobody looking at this watch cares that it’s not a dive watch. Seiko should have just painted on a bezel since it swings around in both directions whiles winding the watch. I used to buy really cheap watches as a kid , but even then I knew if the bezel was bidirectional l the watch was junk.
@@fbmong It is very slightly, however this is a macro shot and probably not noticeable unless you really zoom in. You would be amazed at the things that I find while doing these videos!
