@@jinx8624 random dirrection could still really mess up technical attacks, you could have bases set up where you basicaly have a 1/4-1/2 chance to launch high value troops like pekka's into a kill zone where theyre targeted by single target inferno's with no real way to plan or counter it, and rng already sucks enough as seen with the wallbreaker queen pathfinding. Towards the closest outside border is the only consistant way that can slow down or minimaly mess with an attack without straight up killing it sometimes. Or simply launching it straight up and it gets a few second stun could also work
@@wat3rm3l0nx7 which is a much needed buff nowadays as people are spamming RRs with their attacks. Though with the number of spring traps we have especially on higher THs, it may end up becoming annoying instead.

@@GrumpyDynamo Traps are always meant for the attacks to be luck-dependant. Bunch of giant bombs near Blimp landing site? Luck-dependant. Electro Dragon spams got blitz by Seeking Air Mines? Luck-dependant. I don't see how Root Riders should get exclusive free-pass against traps when they have: - HP of Pekka - DPS of Electro Titan - Permanent walking Super Bomber - Defense Targetting Unit (could act like Super Giant) If anything Springtrap buff to 20 housing space is very needed against these brainless and spammy Root Rider users.
Spring traps are so useful for me because I do anti wallbreaker bases. I use the spring trap on the places of the wall that are vulnerable to this and work great and are a key trap for my defense against ground attacks!!! 👍👍👍👍
They're fine and don't need retouching just because they haven't been worked on for a while, much like air sweepers or the tornado trap. Some things don't need upgrades; they are forever strong.
My idea for a spring trap buff is some upgrades could allow them to take out even ground troops that couldn't be taken out by the spring trap in the previous levels but only a handful can be taken out
They could add the concept of weight (light, medium, heavy) and have the spring traps only work on light and medium weight troops. That way, new levels can increase the spring capacity while still not affecting golems, PEKKAs, root riders and so on. With this they could even revamp traps and have them divided into traps that can only launch light troops and traps that are triggered by medium troops and launch both light and medium, similar to the bomb and giant bomb dynamic.
Also, since you didn't mention it in the video, it's interesting that the builder base also has spring traps but they can only kill barbarians, archers, and skeletons (from drop ships). It is completely and utterly useless in the builder base against most armies, with the incredibly rare effect of killing an enemy barbarian when scouting for tesla.
Spring Traps are the one thing that can kill an invincible unit. Buffing them more is a bit unnecessary. They can already fling a pretty large assortment of troops.
They should get rid of spring traps and turn them into a new trap that can hit ground and Air. Call it the tangle trap. Either it launches the ground units up or it drags the flying units down
I like the stun idea, having it so they jump in the air for a moment preventing them from moving or attacking. I would say 0.7s would be a good duration
i feel like to balance them out they shouldnt even activate if a troop that cannot be launched walks over their radius or maybe they could stun heavier troops making them not be able to move or do damage for a few seconds increasing w/ level
COC should make it so that it pushes back troops like 2 tiles even golems and pekkas even if it does not launch them or maybe add 1sec stun to the troops
I think the spring trap should make troops like golems do a jump and then land in the same spot but they take a little bit of fall damage. This way it still works on all troops some what. And it would slow the troops down
A way they could add trap levels without it suddenly flinging pekka around would be to give it a bigger AoE. Since walls are easier and easier to break/ignore, giving spring traps an easier time catching enemies seems a good idea for upgrades to it
Some things have a low lvl cap because otherwise that would be way too op. Spring traps are balanced and they're a pain in the ass for pro players, because they can kill ice golems
I think the main problem is the spring trap working based on housing space and not damage like other traps. Spring traps are exacty as powerful against level 1 giants than they are to level 10 giants. Level of troops doesn't matter with this trap at all. If the trap worked based on hitpoints instead, i think it'd be easier to balance and update
Should’ve brought up Builder Base spring traps. Easily the absolute worst version. At max they can only launch 2 Barbarians or 3 archers and NOTHING ELSE
Or how about just increase the trap's flinging radius? Right now it's 0.8 Tiles. Level 6 could increase this to 0.9 Tiles, and Level 7 could increase this to 1 Tile, etc.
Good I never want to waste time or gold on spring traps most of they traps are just an obstacle that’s not worth it besides seeking air mine the black one or the tornado Trap
Problem with springtrap is that they are the go to for ground spam, but Ground has been very weak. if Spring traps were strong to boot out Yeti/Root riders, it would be OP
i dislike how they bypass the warden ability. whereas air has no such thing like that. whoever suggested to give spring traps levels must've thought ground was op when at the time lalo was every top army
Making spring traps launch 20 housing space is way too much and should not be possible. That will be a huge nerf to many ground armies like yetis and hogs and root riders
And they also nerfed spring traps in the builder base 2.0 update. No longer deletes boxer giants, cannon cart, night witch out of existence. Only effects barbs and archers. Wish they made that change sooner because springs traps deleting boxer giants shouldve been illegal from the start 😂
when/if spring traps are good it feels really bad to attack into them. seeing hogs / witches just go away one by one without your control feels really bad commenting this without watching video first btw
