I also don't like to be recognised when I'm not on RU-vid. Hence why, in all my videos, I wear the fake beer gut & double chin. When people run into me outside of my online persona they're always flabbergasted by my mane of thick hair & Adonis-like physique 🤣

The Steve Cassidy Guitar "character" is a refreshing change to the norm. You stand out, keep it up. As far as the question about as the channel grows will you be able to answer all the comments. That's what the Wednesday poll, Thursday hammering on about is for. There aren't many channels dedicate an entire show to just chatting with their audience, so again,keep jt up.

The vlog is a great way of adding variety to your channel. It's a neat way of showing off your neighbourhood while covering different guitar topics. That's what's cool about RU-vid- guerilla filming.

Hi Steve, you seem like a natural vlogger to me. I've been to Dundee once for a gig. I can't say I remember a lot about the venue apart from the fact it was upstairs but the journey there was spectacular. We'd played in Glasgow the night before and the scenery on that journey made me think who ever wrote the song "The Road and the Miles to Dundee" must have often travelled that road.

Baxter park is lovely. I go there for a stroll when I visit my daughter. Also a big fan of Kenny’s Music. Really nice guys and always keen to let you have a shot (although sometimes their guitars are poorly set up with very high action). I bought a bass some years back and it is still going strong.
Nice one mate! I know what you mean re guitar set ups. It seems in recent year manufacturers are putting guitars out with higher and higher action. About 2mm at the 12th is about normal these days, which is way too high for me too

the vlogging is a good idea steve, just to mix it up now and then. Do a vlog to Kennys music, if thats your local store. i like your vids of your band setting up and playing.. the live streams are really good , i think you have a good format, with the poll, then the stream then a video on Friday. i like that you keep it light hearted. have a great time in Germany. thanks for the entertainment.

@@stevecassidyguitar So I used to live in Miami, FL a few miles south of Coconut Grove back in 1989-1991. I also lived in Tampa, FL back in 1995-1999 too so you are NAILING the South Florida vibe in your band! I like the Vlog format as an occasional format for you (once every one or two months) if you don't have a lot of content or you have a point to make. I would suggest Peter Zeihan as someone who does the "Outside Vlog_ format really well and you did well the first time around. Funny thing is I was "Florida Man" before it was a thing. Thank the Love of Buddha that I was smart enough (as a smartass dumbass at the time) NOT to film any of my shenanigans. My best friend constantly reminds me of things I did that I totally forgot (a good thing about getting older). 😋

We would never recognise you without the numerous styles and colours of your glasses Steve. Roy Orbison wore his dark ones purely as a part of his stage image, so why not do the same. Hank Marvin was another one, but in his case they were not a gimmick. Just keep on doing what you do the best.

I personally really love the glasses. The cartoon glasses are definitely a big part of your channel's identity. In fact, since you always keep the color saturation high I always do a double take, when you wear those cartoon glasses, because they look like they are AI generated. The fact that there are no lenses inside those frames, along with the color saturation, makes the cartoon glasses look like AI generated. There are so many competing guitar channels on RU-vid one really need to have something unique. In your case the glasses definitely play a big part. In show business it helps to have one thing that people can say in one short sentence to describe who you are. Who is David Copperfield? That's the guy that made the Statue of Liberty disappear. Do you watch Steve Cassidy on RU-vid? The name sounds familiar... who's that, again? That's the guitar guy with the cartoon eyeglasses. Oh, yes, I know that guy. One short catch phrase that people can easily come up with to describe you you are is definitely one thing that helps when it comes to word of mouth. In my opinion you should definitely keep the glasses, the thumbnails and the color grading.

Are you using the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera? I tried some vlogging too but it never made it past the editing stage. As you mentioned, it is an uncomfortable feeling to talk to a selfie camera around people. I am getting used to doing that at the studio, where people are getting used to seeing me do it, but the multiple takes are still becoming uncomfortable, even in that "home" setting. Outdoors is a totally different story. There's a significant mental block that I personally need to overcome before I can start talking to a camera and ignore the fact that there's a bunch of people around me. I think I would personally feel much more comfortable doing it if there was a crew doing all the camera work.
Yes indeed mate - using the pocket 3. And I can completely relate to the discomfort over filming both at home (on my own 😂🙈) and outdoors. I'm just on my way back from. 42GS now and I barely filmed anything 🙈 Lessons learned for next year though 😁👍 But yeah... I think the livestreams have helped to gain confidence on camera (a bit). But it's never easy in any environment. I'm gonna keep at it though 👍
@@stevecassidyguitar I'm in London now and I visited the Gibson Garage. Wanted to do some video recordings there, but I didn't feel comfortable, for a number of reasons. Will go there tomorrow again and give it another try. I did, however, record a video of a brand new guitar store in the heart of Greenwich Market, Tom's Guitar Shop. I have to make sure the recordings are good enough for a video (as I didn't bring any audio gear).
