When a team loses, they like to blame the star player esp. if the star player could have done more. As a star player, Luka is used to the criticism. What hurt the Mavs were the depth of the Celtics team and their defense. At any given night, a player besides Tatum and Brown can score 20 points. In Game 1, Porzingis scored 20 points. Three others scored 10 or more, Tatum didn't even play that well offensively. In Game 2, Holiday scored 26 points and White scored 18. Brown and Tatum scored nearly as much. In Game 3, Kyrie finally shows up and they had to claw back from 21 pts down. That was winnable, but the role players couldn't knock down above the break 3s. The Celtics had depth in their roster and don't depend on the Tatum and Brown to score like the Mavs depend on Luka and Kyrie. The losing team often gets criticized because the start player doesn't do enough, unless it's like OKC where SGA was the only consistent scorer on the team and the rest of the team didn't show up.
Exactly. Luka should be the last one on the Mavs getting the blame. He's pretty much the only one that showed up in the Finals. Hopefully Klay helps mitigate the "Luka and/or Kyrie needing to carry the offense" problem. Edit: I disagree about OKC though. They had 2 other 15+ ppg scorers outside of SGA while Luka just had Kyrie. LuKai is just that good. I think that's Dallas' main weakness. They need a consistent 15+ ppg scorer to take the load off LuKai (which Klay is).

Ppl blame the 💩 out of Tatum in 2022... Celtic would not have been there if it was for his play... He still took and is still talking a ton of crap for it
@@scotthuang808 Tatum had a bad shooting series... He didn't play terrible... He had 5 double double in the series... Lead the team in rebs and assist with low turnovers.... They only game he had high turnovers was game one... The rest were pretty good floor game... No one shot well in the series Brown shot 44 from fg and 24 percent from 3, Luka also shot 25 percent from 3...

Tatum was drafted to a 53 win team & has had the best team in the NBA around him for the past 3 seasons. Boston’s success isn’t because of Tatum. He has 3/4 all stars around him so he can play bad & they still win. That’s the difference. Luka Giannis Jokic SGA all have to carry their teams. If they play bad they lose. Thats why they are top 5 guys & he isn’t.
Lebron James is truly a beast. Lebron has been playing both sides his whole career with him being the first option luka just doesn’t have the athletic edge.
