I'd also add that Wynn/Encore's prices fluctuate. While there are times that standard rooms are incredibly high like Jacob showed in the video, if you can be flexible there's times where you can put together a 4-5 night stay with standard rooms in the $119-259 a night range (plus resort fee like everywhere else).
First I’m part of Wynn red reward program and every time I paid no more then $129 per night with $100 food voucher. And I use my Amex platinum so I get free upgrade and extra $60 a day for breakfast. I was only referring to my experience. Thank you
I've been staying at The Wynn for years and I am NOT a big gambler. I average just a couple hundred dollars a day for gambling. And somehow, they comp me 3-4 nights several times a year as well as casino and food credit. I made money on them last year according to the win/loss statement. I see your point that it can be pricey and everyone has a different budget but after going to all sorts of places there over the years, The Wynn IS the best casino on an overall basis in my opinion.
Absolutely agree. I've done really well playing slots there and is THE reason why I play there almost every week (I'm a local). I moved to Las Vegas about 2.5 years ago and would split my play between the Wynn and a handful of other casinos. Now I play only at the Wynn because I was consistently getting better results there.
@@TehGutterRats I'm a slot player but play other table games when the urge hits. I like the older three-reel games like Pinball and Top Dollar in the quadrant between the high limit room and the tower suites entrance.
@@stvnlake I haven't had as much experience playing slots at Palms to draw a firm conclusion yet. So far, it's been below my expectations. I will acknowledge that the free play is good, and the dining comps are exceptional. They offer me comped rooms, which is a fantastic deal, but I'm not really into staycations, so I've not used that particular benefit. I'm not a fan of the Palms casino because of its small size and the small variety of machines compared to the larger casinos. I sometimes get bored playing there. I'm also not a fan of how the machines are mostly laid out in rows. If you're not local, I think the whole experience can be a great deal with the room and dining comps. But for playing slots only, I much prefer Wynn.
Maybe you’ve never stayed at the Wynn. When I was working in Vegas on the strip, I had a contest with one of the other dealers. On our days off, we started at Mandalay Bay on the right side of the strip going north and we would stay at every single casino hotel. Our goal was to stay at every casino on the strip and elsewhere so if anybody ever asked us about anything we’d have the answer. What comes to mind the most as far as FUN is concerned is the flamingo. Situated perfectly in the center of the strip, the flamingo has a beautiful pool, loaded with ladies. It’s a real fun place to hang around very exciting with lots of choices and you can walk anywhere. The Golden Nugget downtown has the same atmosphere as the flamingo But if you want top notch quality, you will definitely stay at the Wynn or the Encore. The buffet is untouched and cannot be compared to any other buffet. You’ll get the precious food in the world. Lamb chops are to Die for. That’s it in a nutshell
I agree. It’s more about what is best for YOU. I will be staying at South Point this summer and I cannot wait. No desire to stay at Wynn. Just plan to go for their seafood buffet which is fabulous.
My take: The Wynn is the best hotel for those looking for luxury Aria is the best for those looking for nice but not crazy expensive NYNY is the best if you’re looking to save some money. There is no absolute best above all else hotel in Las Vegas. But there are bad hotels and the worst is Circus Circus 😂
The perfect hotel was Bally's. I've not yet seen what becoming the Horseshoe has done for it. But the location is perfect, the revamped rooms are awesome and it is/was SO cheap.
Park MGM sucks because it’s non-smoking. Some of us would like to enjoy a cigar while gambling. Smoking, drinking and gambling are a part of the Vegas experience.
@@MrRMT1986 Well aren’t you lucky that there’s ~174 other casinos in Vegas proper you can go to enjoy yourself lol Park MGM is the only non-smoking casino in the whole area
Wife stayed at vacation resort with no casino on property. She and her group really enjoyed themselves. Appreciated not having to navigate crowded casino. Nice singing Jacob!! I think SPHERE has found it's next residency🙂🙂
I will add the first time I stayed at the Wynn casino, I got there at 6 PM with my beautiful girlfriend that time, I laid on the bed, and fell asleep immediately. I wasted a whole night sleeping. The beds are like heaven the amenities are unmatchedand yes, when you’re in the room, it’s very well insulated and you feel like you’re in a paradise.
Back in the day, my folks had received written invitations to stay at the Wynn (at a Discount) personally signed by Steve Wynn, NOT a stamped signature. That alone says exclusivity & class.
So far, The Wynn is my favourite luxury resort comparing it to Resorts World ; as a chef I am a stickler to good food and wonderful dining. So far , the Wynn has outmatched Resorts World when it comes to the food options. Seeing this kind of luxury in Canada would cost you $2000 per day ; so Vegas is always a winner. The Wynn gave me 3 nights comped at Encore which was indeed a plus. If you have kids, I can understand how luxury wouldn’t be necessary. Downtown Las Vegas is indeed a gem 💎 for dining and rooms at Circa . That being said I always look for the best deal during my luxurious stay , and close to the best dining and quick bites . My favourite today may change during my next stay, as Vegas changes constantly. Thank you for sharing- Cheers ! Chef Bari
Great point, going in there is free. I’ve been four years in a row, never stayed there, but always made it a point to go in and walk around and snag a drink. Unless the rooms there are mind bogglingly huge or nice, you’re up charging yourself at a vast rate for only a slight improvement in quality. A month ago friends and I stayed in palms place. 1100 square feet, two bathrooms, kitchenette. Nothing we’d get at Wynn unless we were spending well over $1000 a night
Back when it was $200-400 a night it was justifiable because you were paying for that luxury. Now that it's $600-1000 a night it's just not enough to justify a base room. Better off getting a penthouse in a lower tier hotel
I absolutely agree. I was blown away by the value for money I got staying at the Luxor one bedroom Elite tower suite. And their regular one bedroom Tower suites are very spacious and come with empty mini fridges. The room is 780 square feet in total. I don't recommend staying at the pyramid but the tower rooms at luxor are a great value bargain I can highly recommend
I’ve been to the Wynn a few times and they don’t seem to give me any credit for my slot play and I just lose there. So not a win for me! But it is beautiful and I was able to tier match- thanks to your tip! So I will probably stay there sometime soon.
It’s so crazy seeing those buy ins and the dealers are just there standing around because no one comes up to play. Empty tables the refusal to lower the buy in is insane! Lol
$450+ per night, or >$450 (including total taxes + fees) for 5 nights at any number of high quality resorts. And you don't have to stay at the Wynn to enjoy most of its restaurants, features, etc.
Thank-you Jacob! I have never been comfortable in a luxury setting. You have made me realize, that's OK! There are so many other options in Vegas where I don't feel out of place!
The Wynn is BEAUTIFUL!! They just opened a McLaren supercar “boutique”!! (there’s a $3 million McLaren Speedtail in there now!). Make sure you check out ALL of the shopping areas! (There’s more than just on your way out to the Strip, a new addition was added behind the casino, as well as more leading to their sister property, Encore). Also, get a bite/ coffee at the newly remodeled “Cafe’ Theatro”……very good!!
@@TehGutterRats I’ve heard Sinatra is VERY GOOD! Actually, I almost always go to Spago at Bellagio for dinner, or even the fun Mon Ami Gabi at Paris (good food, excellent price!) and their view of the Bellagio fountains across the street is incredible! Also, Martha Stewart’s Bedford restaurant at Paris is fairly new, and GOOD!
Honestly I've never been a big fan of the Wynn/Encore. I can appreciate the attention to detail but in my view the interior design of those places is super tacky and looks like something out of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" lol. My personal favorite luxury resort is Bellagio. I think its the most dynamic property with the seasonal conservatory displays and the fountain-adjacent dining. I also appreciate the understated architecture and the more intimate experiences like "Petrossian Bar" in the lobby.
Agreed. The cheesy Christmas tree lights handing out of the trees in the foyer and the paper mache merry-go-round look tacky and cheep in my view. I think the emperor had no clothes when it comes to the reality of the Wynn.
Just like a big city has different neighborhoods that are not better or worse than eachother, just different. Each property in Las Vegas is unique and different from eachother. Not better or worse. As a local I understand and appreciate this. The trendy influencers say you must gamble and then hang out at the center bar of one of the upscale casinos. I had a great time gambling with a friend at Circus Circus and then having a spirited air hockey game and a ski ball competition. Appreciate the many different types of properties.
Thank you Jacob for saying the truth. Some people have tons of cash to spend on a weekend if your like me not so much so luv that you did a comparison, luv this!! ❤❤❤❤😊😊 wess from canada
The best for me, high or low rolling, is El Cortez very colorful folks in there. Clean rooms and hospitality are the most personable. It's not luxury but fun! I don't enjoy those higher end look at me casinos!
Wynn is a special place that has a great Vibe. It’s a lil pricey, but if you sign up for their players card and gamble some, they send you offers for affordable rooms.
I might try hotels again after they remove resort fees. I dont need any of the amenities resort fee covers. Last 7-8 years I've stayed in airbnb's and only few nights in hotels.
I'm not wealthy, but Wynn and Encore are my two favorite spots on the Strip... followed by Palazzo. The only reason why I go south of Palazzo is to get exercise.
I go where I have good comps, which is usually MGM and if I can’t get good free rooms with an MGM resort I will settle for a Caesar’s property. Recently Fontainebleau’s been comping me and so I for sure take it. It’s fabulous!
@@butterbrown100 I think so. I’m a slot player and they had comped me to four night stays. Was able to tier match so I got a $100 dining credit. Mind you I do not play a huge amount around $500 per day. Hit some jackpots too.
@@ladyluckslots1489 nice! That’s pretty good 😊 thanks for sharing I think I’ll check them out. I was hesitant with all of the mixed reviews mostly bad stuff ones… but you never know unless you see for yourself
We were looking between the Wynn and the Bellagio and the Wynn was significantly less. Plus they gave us a $100 credit and we always go to the buffet for brunch. If you want a nicer stay, it is always worth checking it out.
My wife and I were lucky enough to stay at the Wynn before Covid. Room was immaculate. pool was awesome. No skells in the casino, Security was the best of any casino On the strip.Expensive , Yes, but 100% worth it.
There are several places I like to stay on the Strip, but Wynncore is far and away my favorite. That said, when my friends come to me for Vegas recs, I never suggest Wynncore unless they're looking for a true luxury experience and money is no object. The only thing inexpensive at Wynncore is the air.
The best hotel in Vegas isn't even the Wynn, it's the Waldorf Astoria. However, saying a casino is the best is not the same as saying the best or most preferable to me for a trip. I personally prefer to stay at the Aria, gamble at Park MGM, and play poker at Bellagio. Once the Cosmo is fully integrated into the MGM I'll probably stay there. To me location on the strip matters along with the quality of the room and the service. So while the Wynn hotel is better than any of the MGM or Ceasar properties, it's not near other properties I like and doesn't have the food and smoke free gambling I like at Park MGM, or the poker room of Bellagio. I think the rooms at Park MGM are terrible though and the Bellagio has gone to shit (buffett closed half the time and the crowds are crazy).
The best quality hotel is the Vdara. The best bang for buck by a MILE (if you enjoy the daily walk to the poker rooms in the center strip), the Luxor is unbeatable.
This is why when people ask what my favorite hotel in Vegas is i usually answer back "what tier are we talking about: budget, mid or luxury". As for Wynn specifically i havent stayed there but have eaten at restaurants and gone to XS and as someone who hasnt stayed there ive had alot of great experiences there, so i understand the hype.
Great video, I will admit I'm not rich, and when I visit Vegas once a year I need to be careful how I spend. Rio is my choice due to low price and being able to walk to the strip.
Taking cost out of the equation it is definitively the best resort experience. Every detail is meant to exceed expectations. Going from the encore (wynn sister property) to The Plaza was a huge step down.
One time we were unable to fly home due to weather and were able to score a great deal at the encore for the night (this was back when parking was free on the entire strip) While the room was amazing with the decor, windows and view the best thing for us was being able to walk across the street to Fashion Show mall for eats and drinks. The gambling odds, the restaurants and everything else was way too expensive for us. Would I stay here again? yes if the price was right but wouldn't go out of my way as I enjoy being able to afford a drink at the bar of the hotel I am staying at.
Value vs Best is a different conversation, but best still means best. It means best given the budget to stay there. And while Wynn is among the pricier places to stay and its on resort dining is pricey, it is a short walk several cheap Taco places, Peppermill, and Bagelmania, and to the best low limit BJ rules on the strip (Treasure Island). Regardless when people call it the best they are comparing it to other luxury resorts with a similar budget crunch, and it generally tops them in small details and service.
I love the Wynn and Cosmo especially when I can get a good rate? If I can't, TI, HardRock/Mirage, Vdara, and Paris are my next choices. So, what were you singing?
I'm a Vegas goer of both worlds... freakin love the Wynn (also, there is nothing in my nearest big city of that quality for the price I can get in Vegas) - some trips are how low we can go... other times, we want to be pampered. That's a nice choice to have in Vegas.
The budget friendly trip no longer exists in Vegas. That’s an old school looking at Vegas when Aladdin was still a hotel. No tourist wants to go to downtown or would go back after one trip. Wynn/Encore is the best overall. Comps get you a long way so Work hard, play harder.
Best is subjective. But i would say Red Rock, Greenville Ranch, and Vanetian are pretty good. Vanetian has good location and nice swimming pool area. Bellagio is needs an update. Caesars is outdated.
I’m a fan of this channel but this a Clickbait title video. The summary of the vid was that it depends on what you’re looking for but it’s just semantics, the Wynn is overall the best hotel on the strip
Jacob - appreciate your perspective. However, I will have to strongly disagree! Been staying at Wynn/Encore every year since 2012. They may be a lot of things - but AVERAGE isn’t one of them!
The Venetian has my vote. Luxury, yet casual at the same time. I have friends that love the Cosmo, but I can't stand the Cosmo. Jacob is right... it depends on the individual.
“Best” IS subjective!! The Wynn, Fontainblue, Aria, Bellagio are the BEST (service, aesthetics, quality shopping and dining, amenities, etc). And I totally get what you’re saying about “most people” who just want clean accommodation, cheap food/ drinks, drunken karaoke, etc, I know people in Conway, Arkansas and Butte, Montana and Lewiston, Idaho (GOD-AWFUL places with terrible food, cheap everything, etc….FLYOVER STATES). But here’s the thing, when these people visit me in Las Vegas, IF I’M WILLING TO PAY, the FIRST place these people want to eat at/ shop/ explore are the BEST hotels, with the best food…….All of a sudden they want to go to Gucci, not the M&M store, and Applebees!!! 🤷🏼♂️😎🤔
Jacob, c'mon man. I enjoy your content, but your click-bait title is very misleading. Your bottom line is basically mine, "The best" property is the one that you feel comfortable with, and have fun at within your budget. The Wynn is a bit pricier I would agree, however, the resort has a more exclusive feel to it. For that, people, myself included, are willing to cough up a few more bucks. Perhaps you didn't mean to criticize it, but you did come off as a bit snarky in your "review". Sometimes a pricier hotel is a more peaceful hotel, if you get my drift.
wow that was a short video. i agree with jacob though. i have stayed at encore and it was incedible. until you realize how far away from the real "strip" it is. the rooms are amazing but how much time are you spending there. save some money are get a moderate room elsewhere
I'm not a huge gambler either. I barely gamble, but will play the heck out of Wynnslots and Mgm's MyVegas slots. If those accounts were real, I would be retired right now!
For the same price at the Wynn I can have a suite at the Cosmopolitan. Also the Cosmopolitan is sooooooo nice, way better bang for your buck than the Wynn tbh
A Porsche 911 is objectively better than a Prius. Maybe it is beyond someone’s budget and not good to transport a family in, but it is still the superior car. Wynn is superior to all budget hotel casinos in Vegas, but maybe it’s not the right fit for some travelers.
Atmosphere also comes into play! Makes a big difference in how u enjoy ur vacation! The hotel 🏨 has to have an easy atmosphere to really get ur fun out of it!
The public spaces at The Wynn are great. The pool sucks. The suites are disappointingly small. I preferred the huge suites, with fully appointed kitchens, and luxurious bathrooms, at the non-gaming Trump, and then take a short stroll to the Wynn, and my favorite restaurant, Sinatra’s.
No kidding. I'm a low-end gambler and stopped at Wynn for a strawberry daiquiri in April. Sat at a paigow table to slow play while my drink came. In less than 3 minutes, I lost 4 straight hands and $300. Turned out to be the most expensive drink I've ever had by far!! Dealer was a total beeotch too.
@@BierManVA Oh for sure. But it's also a game that is hard to lose multiple hands in a row. I'm just saying I happened to get smoked at the tables while trying to get a cheap drink.
My wife and her friends wanted to check out the Wynn last trip we had to Vegas. I was in a "throw $100 into the bar video poker at every casino for a free drink" type of mood. Only thing was I didn't notice the bar at the Wynn didn't comp video poker players. $23 later, I was served a shot of fireball in a fancy smancy champaign flute. Gmafb
The Wynn loses because they are such cheapskates they won’t even comp drinks on video poker. No way I’m allowing that trend to get started on my watch. I will gamble elsewhere.
If you’re paying $500/night, you better get the best customer service ever. Describing a luxury hotel as an oasis for the mind and body is a crazy statement. You glazing a luxury hotel like they payin you.
@@ScoobyDoober I was only replying about my experiences staying at the Wynn/Encore, for starter I never pay more the $129 a night for my suite I receive a $100 food voucher. I thank you shouldn't speak on things you know nothing about.
The title of this video is misleading. Should be, "Why Wynn/Encore May not be the best hotel for you." I have not stayed there but have spent my share of hours there. To me Wynn is the nicest property with the best service. The primary reason I have not stayed (yet) is because it is expensive - but seems worth it if you can afford it or are going to splurge. One day I will stay there though. Wish I stayed when Steve was still running the place. I liked that luxury hotel style he used for the rooms vs. the nice condo style the go with now.
