Malcolm X embraced Islam. Islam is a “religion” that degrades women. Islam treats women at best as second class citizens and at worst as if they were animals owned as the property of men. In some Muslim countries, women cannot even leave their homes unless accompanied by a male relative. Saudi Arabia only recently allowed women to drive. In 1988, I visited Morocco for 5 days. Women were not allowed to go into bars. They were called bars even though they did not serve alcohol. Still, women were not allowed inside. Imagine that. Malcolm X may have supported black civil rights, but by practicing Islam, he ignored the rights of women.

MLK was more in line with what they thought was a better and more viable way to reach the goals of that day. He was beloved and held with reverence to many, but most and still to this day were slaves to Christianity. Fascinating that Magneto was thoughtfully drawn with inspiration from Malcolm X (while the more cerebral Professor X held some inspiration from Dr. ML King) and the careful, beginnings of Killmonger's fighting spirit were a nod to Malcolm. While some say it's two sides of one coin, it does also show the deep reaching reflections Malcolm had in the Nation of Islam, the Muslim Mosque Incorporated, the Organization of Afro-American Unity, the Muslim faith and/or Black🖤 people across the globe.

We need more people like him and also Nat Turner Racism has gotten out of hand and it's still out of hand to this very day, and it's time for us to take the example of Malcolm x, Stand up, unite as one, and fight back to carry on his legacy and take Back what was wrong, fully stolen from us?

People like you always talking about we need somebody like him somebody to stand up and lead black people. You stand up. All the black people watching from the sidelines, videotaping as a mentally ill, harmless, homeless black man as he was held down by three white men being choked to death. All those people on the train just sat there and watched and did nothing. Needed to stand up. All those deer that has black men just watched. Should have stood up. But you scared as fake ass disgusting ass black people would fight against your own before you fight for your own. Gang members fight each other murder each other, rather than coming together so fight for each other. Murdering innocent children in the cross fire. Stop fighting each other and protect one another. Stand up, make a difference in your community. Stand up and lead like real men. Like Malcolm X, and all the other who died fighting for us, you stand up. And then get the black men you know to stand up. And stop talking about it be about it.

In 1965 I remember when he was assassinated that February Friday, at school that following Monday I don't think the teacher's said nothing all day, it wad like they'd lost an uncle, brother, and we were told we could do whatever we wanted, most colored, some read books, others caught up on home/class work. It was eerily gloomy , I could tell it affected all of them. It was an all black school in the south. Never forget it.

Malcolm was bold & brilliant. I loved his fervor for his people above all things. I'm sorry we lost him. MLK is known for his "I have a dream speech", but MLK had some fiery words of his own which are played far less frequently, so they become unknown. Speeches he made at Riverside Church in NY where he told America GOD will break the backbone of its power if they didn't do right by us. This breaking in going on right now, because they still don't do right by us. GOD used both these men (& many others) as an opportunity for America to repent & let His people go that we may worship Him in the wilderness. Malcolm fought without the system & Martin within; either way, our enemies perpetual hatred makes them determined not to do the right thing, because they do not love the original people of the earth, especially the true Israelites. If MLK wasn't doing damage like Malcolm was doing damage, the government wouldn't have sponsored their deaths. Malcolm was about to flip the tables on them taking them to the U.N. That brother was special. The King family went to court & proved their case about who truly was behind the murder of MLK. MLK & Malcolm were humble enough to acknowledge their errors which made them great in my sight. They both knew their lives were on the line, yet they willingly stood against the enemies of our community world wide. I have respect for both, because it wasn't easy & they followed their calling; to the death.

He never considered himself a "civil rights leader", in fact he considered the concept of civil rights inadequate for the African American liberation struggle. He would define it a human rights issue rather, or simply a matter if justice. @stevemiller6167 Not sure Malcolm would feel the same. Regardless of his religious choice, we can all respect his mind, actions & words. Perhaps Malcolm might ask us to consider 'humans' as equal in size...beside his mother & father. I hope our humankind can recognise his example. I'm white, female, non religious & very happy to see channels on social media praise those of our species (our ancestral ROYALTY) who were not shown the respect they quite obviously demanded, deserved and displayed. My comment is not to argue, it is to highlight your original comment.

Brother Malcolm left the nation of Islam after going to Makkah for pilgramage, and embraced the true religion of Islam as it was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). I, as a half Arab half white American Muslim, am proud to have such a great man as a brother in faith. Islam is the solution to racism.
