I was told in seminary by my preaching professor the following: "When you believe you are as good as your congregation says you are, you are in trouble." Excellent video!! Thank you!!
Yes clergy must pray to remain humble and walk in Christ's footsteps. Too many people who have prominent positions, those who have material wealth, and many who are physically appealing allow praises by others to make them arrogant and lose all sense of humility. In many instances, that praise made them begin to exploit others for their personal gain. Power, material wealth, and physical appeal can be a blessing or a curse, depending on how they are used, or abused.
This is definitely for all churches, both large & small. It’s for business owners, parents, spouses, & coaches. Anyone in a position of power, significance, leadership, or authority who claims to follow after Christ. Have a mentor, fear the Lord, & seek guidance indeed!
Yes everyone. Specially politicians. I live in Baltimore and all the politicians here want to do is keep their power. They don’t fear anyone or anything, except losing their job. Very powerful story.
This was very well put together. This is definitely seen over and over as Leaders today seek fame and love the applause of man. Pride consumes them and they get blinded to it. It applies to all too. As I was listening I said Lord please keep me humble and felt led to thank my Supervisor and Director for leading our team humbly.
They are not falling because they have entered the temple reserved for priests. They all succumb to their position of power that allows them to indulge their sexual appetites.
Pride is one of those things that no matter the warnings, no matter the effort made to avoid it, no matter how many people see it... it is one of those lessons you have to be brought down in a sorrowful way to recognize that it was or is an issue in yourself.
This is so true! I was wondering lately why pride is the worst of the deadly sins but it really does kill. Some people don't go to the doctors because of pride, they think they can do it theirself. Same thing that pride makes us think we don't have to call on God, we can do it ourselves 😬😬😬!!! I couldn't understand before why i found it so difficult to call on God, I was afraid of being "weak" but it really is the same as not calling on the doctors
and just a quick reminder that the first amendment conflicts with the first commandment "thou shalt worship whoever you want" and that the declaration of human rights gives ME more rights than god. and a history lesson cos the USA is a secular nation, not many people seem to know that, and the founding fathers were at best deists and certainly not christian. hitchens became a naturalised american purely because of the constitution. the UK is officially christian, the US is officially secular. is it annoying that the satanic temple has the SAME RIGHTS as the church / mosque?
"His character needed to catch up with his calling." So true! Sometimes, what God has for you isn't yours to take yet because your character needs to be built, and sanctification must occur. When I was single, I used to resent that many people tended to listen to those who were married and had children. Being married and having my own kids, I see how God uses these hard things to sanctify us and build our character. It isn't the only thing, but I see how it can help us minister to others.
This is SO on point! What stood out to me was the fact that this passage of scripture said “God gave him success”. There’s a major difference here. When you’re success is God-given, it’s a reward when it’s the strength of your own hands, it could be to your detriment. The mention of allowing your character to be developed before you answer, and put on the call is huge! Nobody likes to eat a gooey cake, it has to be well done to be completely palatable. In the same manner, someone stepping out to lead where they haven’t been is dangerous, and God will hold them accountable. Don’t let your gifts and talents take you where your character and convictions wont keep you! Thank you Brother Allen
Love this type of content. Addressing the current state of society and culture without taking away from the message by calling specific names. AND Using scripture to give us an example. This is perfect!! Thanks Allen!!
@@thebeatagp @1:46 Allen says - "They might have the calling, but not the character. Their character might not have caught up with their calling". Guess what that is... NOT a calling. 😂 Good one Allen 😅 That's about as clear as your view of works, faith and salvation. 💩
HUMILITY! HUMILITY! HUMILITY! Sometimes success is blinding. Pride is blinding. If anyone thinks he stands, let him take heed, lest he fall. "I am rich, I have prospered, I need nothing." Arrogance. Thinking of ourselves more highly than we ought to think rather than with sober judgment. The brothers in my local church have been studying about finishing well the race that has been set before us. Jesus is coming soon.
Started reading your book Misled today. I just cried. I was raised in church that was the same. There was child abuse by those who went to church all the time spoken in tongues, got up in church sang hymns. Anyway, I don’t want to say anymore but I just want to thank you for being honest. I’m 61 years old and I tried to forget it all but it’s been coming back since I’ve gotten older and since my dad passed away. I’ve always had a trust issue so it’s been really hard for me to trust Jesus. In my Bible, I underline all the promises. Thank you Jesus.
Wow! I pray healing for your wounded heart. Sorry for u being misled by leaders that u trusted for spiritual life. People will be held accountable for leading God's children in the wrong way.
As song writer said for your pain you have Jesus I pray you will experience His healing love in your inner most being. Father God behold your child in pain because of false shepherds. According to Your Word gather every part of him in Your unfailing loving embrace.
@@thebeatagpabsolutely. When Seeking God he will put people in your life to mentor you and hold you accountable IF you are open to it. Success has many different components.
All of it is by HIS GRACE otherwise, the one who is successful in his calling, when he looks at HIS GRACE in their lives they even decrease MUCH more and let him increase much more. But for those who look at the seven steps that have made them successful often are the ones who fall@@thebeatagp
That was very common in royalty. Sometimes children and even babies came to the throne, but a regency ruled in their name til they were old enough. Many ancient Israelite kings started their reign with their fathers co-reigning.
Here's one: Psalm 71:18 So even to old age and gray hairs, O G-d, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come. Yes G-d gives the wisdom and success, but one constant pattern throughout scripture is that G-d uses Elders, Prophets, Deacons, etc. Aka mentors.
Great lesson today. This video should be played in every ordination class or if you think about going into the ministry or becoming a pastor. I like Brother Allen teaching he’s a perfect example you do not have to talk for a long time to give a great lesson
That’s the problem, people are going into ministry like a career and a job. Didvy’all forget that God calls, chose and ordained his servants. Man have no power to do this and appoint themselves after study in some Bible college. That is not God’s way. God doesn’t ordain anyone to preach and earn a salary. That is Blasphemous. Until we learn that we should never appoint ourselves as pastors, preachers, Bishops, apostles and prophet we will continue to be deceived and Jed astray. Y’all forget satan is on a mass recruit in these last days. Many belong to his church and don’t even realize it.
The devil will go after the most influential and these men are not prepared. Some of them come to prominence quickly and can't handle the influence and power.
These men are high ranking free masons. They are working for the enemy, and The Most High is exposing them, because they are extremely evil, money hungry, and have no fear of The Father, therefore they are not convicted and do not feel the need to repent. (T.D. Jakes, Mike Todd, Steven Furtick, Joel Olsteen, Joyce Meyer) just to name a few.
This video is spot on. It happened to Solomon, David, and other men in the Bible. For a long time I couldn’t figure why King David got involved with Bathsheba and ordered her husband to be killed. And then I realized, he was king. He had POWER. He was in a position to where no one could refuse him. Bathsheba had no choice but to go to him. They started off great but they didn’t end how they started. This is a warning for us.
Over 40 years ago, Dr. Roy Gray, at Bible College, let us know the real reason. Simple & profound - they get too busy to meet with God in prayer in morning Devotion. If one doesn't abide in the vine the branch falls off, men gather the fallen off branch and burns it. The problem is - too busy to spend time with God in prayer.
Proverbs 16:18-- "Pride comes before the fall." The higher we go in the Lord's ministry, the more we should remain humble. That crown we are wearing is not a showpiece, it's a reminder of our responsibility and accountability before our Sovereign Lord. He is the true king. God bless you.
Great video brother Allen! Thank you for this vital warning and reminder. It’s sad that like the world, the church is seeing gifting as success over character.
This video is just awesome. This is clear evidence that you have in-depth knowledge of the scriptures. i thank God that i have a bible teacher and mentor like you. I have read this story many times and i never manage to see this message in it.
Amen, great word Pastor Allen. I thank the Lord he put me through the wringer for humility. Now I have that testimony and reminder to myself where I never want to be again. Thank you almighty Jesus for your ever lasting mercy that we surely do not deserve but, your grace is perfect!
I remember when Bob Coy of Calvary Chapel , Ft Lauderdale fell . He was one of the most dynamic pastors I had heard but I am afraid that his pride and losing the fear of God caused his fall . Being on stage and having the adulation he had caught up to him .
In Canada there are so few young men entering the ministry(both liberal and evangelical). If a young man does enter the ministry and shows promise he will be brought along too soon. A young man who is a good prospect will be promoted too fast.
Allan, been listening to you for years. This is one of the best pieces of compelling content you've done (and all your stuff is great). This was so good, full of wisdom. Thank you for your service to the Lord.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18 It is so important to humble ourselves before God. Whenever we have something we struggle with, it’s important that we turn to the Lord and ask for his guidance. It’s also important that we have mentors who can help us in our walk with God.
There have been mega pastors in the 80's and early 90's as well as an international ministry a couple of years ago that fell from grace as a result of money, sex and pride. But what about pastors who are teaching false doctrine (prosperity gospel, LGBT affirming, faith and works) that still remain influential? These men are more dangerous to the body of Christ because people's salvation may be in jeopardy. However, a great video, nonetheless.
This is a great message to evaluate ourselves in light of the word of God, pretty much everyone that I know including myself have been in this position it's because we try to take credit for something that we really didn't have any reason to think we did it, no God did it give him all the glory and accept the fact that he is bigger than you
My desire as an evangelist, pastor and mission's worker for almost 60 years is the "Die finished" and to "Finish Well"! Thank you for reminders that are ALWAYS current!
Brother Allen, this is such an instructive video! This channel is such a tremendous blessing in my life and ministry. Keep going with the good work you’re doing! Greetings from Cuba. 🇨🇺
Thanks for another great video, Allen! Personally I believe that it takes more than just self control and a commitment to excellence, to not fall into the pitfalls of corrupt leadership. There also needs to be a community or system that provides checks and balances. Without that, it's just too much power, too much temptation.
No one is perfect. Even if you fall do not stay down but keep looking up. When you are down there is only one way and that is up. Keep praising and keep believing. To God be the glory
I’ve been waiting for you to address some of the recent allegations of mega church pastors. THIS is what my heart needed, not a lot of the clap back reactions I’ve seen on here.
Another concern is that some of these preachers shouldn’t have been in that position the first place. Some of these men were corrupt from the beginning, and only entered into this position for personal gain! Judgment comes to the house of the Lord first!
I've been praying for a Christian brother who I can be accountable to, and he in me. I need to remove a sin in my life! I'm trusting in God that he will send someone to me, and I will know him when I see him! So far, nobody, no one! Oh God, please answer!
Start listening to the Word from the New Testament and don't seek to understand first. Do you know the purpose of the gifts of the Spirit? Recognize the Holy Spirit as Lord and make a covenant with Him
Allen I really appreciate you and what you were doing for the kingdom of God. I am very critical of those who have online followings related to the ministry. Or I can honestly say you are helping others learn more about God.
I agree with you about how Uzziah's falling away from the Lord. Uzziah depended on someone for his faith. The key is as long as the king sought the Lord, God gave him success. We must seek the Lord ourselves and wholly depend on Him, not someone else. Very good video, thank you!
As a Biblical content editor this is the kind of content that God is please with, stay with the uplifting and biblical truth teaching by staying in God's will and I guarantee God will bless you much much more.
