Fortnine is worth a sub just from production, even if you don't care about motorcycles. I sure don't until the videos start, and then I'm deeply invested in airbag jackets I'll never wear or or a fourty year old dirt bike I'll never drive. It's fascinating stuff.

Harley made a bunch of idiotic moves, their most recent being allying with Trump to make "American Made" motorcycles and immediately sending them out to China to be manufactured oversees. Now I don't mean to be stereotypical but, NOT aligning with Trump in this case would probably not make your clientele happy. Also, as a millennial, I actually like Harley's and would buy one if I could afford it, but since they cost the same as car, I will just be sticking with my Kawasaki. Not to mention that Harley riders don't wear helmets, yeah their customers are quickly dwindling and I only see them continue to spiral downward

Legit thought this was a Yamie Noob vid and was so confused when Big A popped up. Also HD is really about a very specific type of red blooded American bike. People who get Harley’s have to have a Harley, Meteic Cruiser (Japanese brands) and English Cruiser are objectively more reliable and cheaper. (And drive better too). I think as fewer people have that red blooded attitude, HD will co tribute to turn away potential new cruiser riders.

I've been big into motorcycles since I was a kid, my dad built bikes, drag raced, MotoGP, all of it. Harley's issue is that they don't take part in any of that crowd AND they don't make recreational ride style motorcycles geared for younger audiences, no dirt bikes, no entry level, limited small cc options. When a would be motorcycle enjoyer grows up riding Yamaha TT's, Honda Groms, Kawi klx's, they tend to stick to those, the only entry point to Harley is to have a lot of money, and have a lot of friends who basically peer pressure you to buy it because "'merica", which is their strongest selling point.

I work in the motorcycle industry. My favorite factoid is that if you run a Google Trends graph of "Harley Davidson" vs "Medicare" look at the full history, the two are almost EXACT opposites of eachother 😂

Harley Davidson have been making the same bike for the last 60 years and people now prefer bikes that are faster, more fuel efficient, less obnoxious and more comfortable to ride.

I once worked for a Harley subcontractor and my client openly said that would fail due to how it if touch they were. We didn't even work on anything adjacent to marketing, we were IT consultants, but even from that it was clear they were dinosaurs.

motorcycles were 2nd vehicles that you rode in your free time. So, an expensive toy. We cannot afford them. If what they did, was made a super cheap one, that could be used by broke people who can't afford cars.... they'd probably do better.

Yeah it was kind of their own doing… they didn’t appeal to the youth in a lot of ways. Their bikes can be intimidating… even the smalls 400cc which is a decent engine size for a beginner if you need to match highway speeds but the bike is heavy as lord and just bulky compared to a let’s say rebel 500. I think the heaviest hitter though is that their bikes are way more expensive. While on website their cheapest is a lil over 8000 Yamaha and Honda have 5000k or lower. In real life though I could find those options for Honda the local store wouldn’t sell me or didn’t have anything cheaper than 16k which shocked me because I felt that here in Texas I’d have more options. Anyways great video bro. Also the reason I know how Harley’s feel despite never buying one is because the only local motorcycle school was Harley and well yeah, the only good pro to those bikes is when I hopped on my rebel 500 I felt way more in control. Also side not but the way Harley riders view bikes is it’s Harley and then everything else metric. Add on side comments from the teacher about how metrics aren’t real bikes. Idk it felt so fandom like when all I wanna do is ride a reliable bike not worship a brand.

Fortnine Canada started as the Canadian spin off of a motorcycle magazine’s website’s RU-vid page. The host has such fantastic production quality that it became the main channel and is one of the more popular productions from Fortnine as a company.

Harley is in the worst position possible where they have such a strong image and heritage that any change to that will lower sales. Unfortunately that image and heritage doesn’t appeal to younger generations and to include that demographic would alienate their current customer base, hurting their existing sales on a “maybe.” Literally suffering from success, they tried some fun/wacky designs in the 80’s to compete with Japan but Reagan bailed them out before those designs amounted to anything.

If I was Harley, I would rebrand towards the red pill/alpha male/self development crowd. Ad spend on self development and strength training/body building videos/andrew tate etc. Associate it with tough badass alphas and that could help. (I'm not in the red pill/alpha community so this is just a shot in the dark)

As a college student looking to buy a motorcycle, I will buy almost ANYTHING that's not a Harley. For some reason I just associate a Harley with old people, or cringe wanna-be rockers

6:50 I don't know that the Disney adults will be grandparents. I believe (based on internet info, grain of salt) most of them are millennials of the childless variety. For certain, all of the Disney adults I personally know (which is oddly a lot, but I work in entertainment, so it kinda tracks) are pushing 40 or more with no children in the plan. It'll be interesting to see if the parks and brand in general fade into a quaint olde-tyme curiosity from their current juggernaut status. They've apparently already lost their grip on children's entertainment as the majority of their viewing demographic is now millennials and gen-xers streaming Star Wars/Marvel IP, and they seem to be doing everything in their creative power to lose that audience as well. Paying through the nose for Bluey is likely a desperation move to get the kids on board.

Yeah Harley might be screwed with the younger generation, but motorcycles aren't. It seems (at least to me) that there is a biker trend blowing up on social media in almost exactly the same way working out has blown up in recent years with gen z (maybe biking is like 3 to 4 years behind on that) and based on gym stats being high as ever, id bet some motorcycle companies will probably skyrocket in a few years... although id guess more honda/yamaha sportbikes vs harley cruisers.

I hate Harley and what they represent these days and how much they’ve manipulated the motorcycle market. They even collaborated with Reagan and begged him to save them from the Japanese motorcycle industry. And so even though Japanese motorcycles were projective better in every way, Reagan had a tariff put on Japanese motorcycles with engines larger than like 500cc’s, causing them to be like 25% more expensive (or maybe even a lil more overall once you factored in all the secondary effects of the tariffs and regulations and such) But the Japanese companies still smoked Harley, and they’ve been failing ever since

The thing now is that most younger people are into sport bikes. Why spend $35k on an unreliable and slow Harley when you can spend $25k on a Honda that breezes past most high end super cars while barely needing anything past basic maintenance. I think they’re headed in the right direction with the pan-America, they just need to have more stuff that’s actually interesting and not a $30k e-bike nobody wants.

I have a Royal Enfield 350 bike. Even though it is similar to HD to its cultural significance in India, the company is actively working on newer models so it can attract newer audiences like me while still keeping the old bikes. If HD took a similar approach it will be beneficial to them. But hey I am just commenting in yt so no one cares.
