What I appreciate is your explanations of why to wear something chunky on top or bottom, what height for a hem with what shoes and WHY it makes a difference. I can not afford expensive clothes but I can take the “rules” and apply them to what I have. I may not have the same handbag but looking at it up closely at the link you provide I can see the details and look for something similar in size, weight and perhaps detail at the charity store. I’m 75 and active, I volunteer around high school students and I don’t want to look frumpy. When the girls give me the thumbs up in the Library, it makes me giggle but I feel good about how I look and feel. Thank you.
Lydia just really knows her aesthetics probably an art history major. But also, I thank her for the great explanations which make me feel like one day I might get good at dressing myself.
Thankyou Lydia… great video! I’m in my mid 60’s and you have helped me develop my style. I have received compliments which has helped my self esteem. Very grateful 💕
I recently have come across this channel by chance and have fallen in love with your effortlessly chic, simple yet elegant style! Nice to meet you, Lydia! ♥️❤️♥️
Another fantastic video!! Thanks Lydia- you are in a class above all like channels because you work so hard to teach and add your special style to everything you do! Jewelry line is gorgeous!!
Great inspo...gets me thinking outside the box. Adding the accessories, as you demonstrate, really can elevate what might have been plain. Thank you, Lydia, for another essential lesson in dressing well! Love your videos.
Love your Channel! 💕 Such a great video! When it comes to strong trends I have to walk softly, I am in my 60s but I have always been very artistic and love cutting-edge fashion, a few years ago I did a style test online, and it classified me as "classic dramatic". Which I did feel was pretty accurate. I do love classic clothing, you can never go wrong with that, but I do like to bump it up with accessories, something unexpected, antique, or unique , given my age I even still enjoy brooches, antique brooches, and antique jewelry, as long as it's not overdone of course, you can always stage a great accessory with a very classic understated outfit. With great accessories possibilities are endless. thanks again for the great video! OH!! and we all know that when you get those unique pieces hold on to them forever everything always comes back into style and there's nothing like vintage, to mix with current.
Recently started watching your videos and finding them immensely helpful. the style of clothes you wear is quite similar to what I have in my wardrobe but have struggled with putting them together in an effortless-looking way. Have used the Christmas holidays to experiment with all my items to create new and fun outfits - rather than looking online for the perfect piece. thank you
Loved this Lydia. I like that you break the outfits down and make simp,e suggestions to enhance them. Accessories are always key to providing different looks without breaking the bank. ❤
Loved this video! Very helpful. I would love to see a video where you take the same plain outfit and style it up different ways with your accessories. To show how these can totally change a look? 🤩🙏🏻
Lily I think you are amazing. You have a wonderful eye for fashion and make it easy for us viewers to consider how to step out looking Put Together. Thank you so much!
Love the black on denim and the new sunglasses! Isn't Paris great? My recent month spent there left me feeling so inspired to use what I already have in my closet in new ways. I only bought three things while there. A shirt, jeans and a fur hood. I LOVED seeing all of the creative ways people wear clothes there, and as much as people seem to like shopping at the luxury stores, the most inspiring outfits looked as if they were hobbled together from really old, but well curated closets full of clothes that have been well taken care of over the years, or pieces that have been thrifted, or handed down.
You are amazing Lydia!!🎉. You have such amazing style … an effortless chic style isn’t easy to achieve … you do it well and it’s obvious that you speak from the heart. Dressing well and having a good sense of style is so integral to one’s personality. I’ve been following your vlog for some time and commend you for your well thought out topics!! BRAVO❤
Thanks Lydia for another helpful video. My life has become so much easier since I've been following your channel. I was wondering if you could do a video on the clothing items materials and which ones do you normally opt for. For instance, what are the best materials to choose when shopping for knitwear, sweaters, cardigans and such.
Yes...move in with me for a bit until I am trained. Love that you mixed vintage with new. We all cherish our vintage finds or. heirlooms. I am so thankful for your advice. It is a bit of a chalkange so I will keep watching until I can get every style correct. Thank you!
This was so informative and well done! It has definitely sparked some thinking about my accessories and how to add them to my outfits. I have 2 beautiful silk scarfs that I never use. Thanks!
I have a Basic capsule wardrobe and I use accessories to make them interesting. It works really well and you don’t have to buy a lot of anything just new updated accessories shoes and sunglasses stuff like that…
I wonder how tall Lydia is. The reason I raise this is that I notice you are very attracted to the over-sized style of cut. In my observation - not just on me but on others, too - that look does not work so well on those who are average height. I think such cuts tend to swallow me up. (I'm average in USA at 5.5", of slight frame and slender.) I think taller people can pull off the big-bulky or boxy-over-sized or even loose-blousy-oversized cuts better than those of average or below average height because there is a taller frame on which to hang all that fabric so one is still able to create a long line despite the extra bulk. I suspect Lydia is at least 5'6". Am I right?
You really have shown me the art of looking for unique little details that make basic pieces pop (e.g. an interesting collar detail) and accessories (e.g. a black belt with some embellishment that makes it notable). Thank you.
I just love your videos and your classic style! Which brand is the trench from the first outfit from?? Fell in Love after seeing it 😍😍😍 Will you make a video about your blazer or outerwear collection?? I hope you have a really nice evening and keep being the way you are 😊
I really like this style, simplicity, minimalism, elegance. Unfortunately, I am not the color type that all beiges, grays and pale colors would suit. I am a "snow white" who likes strong colors and contrasts. I would love to see what you would suggest to people like me😘
Love your channel! I’m always so clueless when it comes to dressing up. Can I suggest a video on how to wear platform trainers/boots: outfit ideas and do and don’ts. Many thanks ❤
Wonderful video ! I was waiting for those glasses to grow on me, but nope nope wasn't feeling them👎 They kept distracting me from everything you were saying 🤯
I live in Florida that is typically very warm all year. How do I layer when I can’t wear a coat or jacket on the weekends and throug in that I have continual hot flashes to add to this. How do I elevate my style if it’s too hot to layer?
Regarding the "jumpers", I'm thinking back to the late 1960's when we called the sweaters worn over the shoulders a "preppy" look. Always has been a classic staple (similar to the original tennis sweaters worn the same way with the sleeves in front. ❤
Oh em gee Lydia!! You are inspirational and aspirational. Ahhhhhhh…You should have an event called, “Shop your closet!” I saw another RU-vidr doing that and lots of folks register and she charges a “styling” fee. Might be time intensive but I’m telling you, based on what I’m seeing in this chat…you have a following that would pay to have you help them figure out how to style themselves. Just a thought! 😊
Just popping by to say thank you Lydia! Your channel is so unique and so informative and I really, sincerely, appreciate the effort you put into providing such great content. Sending you love and light and to all those who read this ❤
Lydia,k thank you for all the options you show us. Question - fall/winter it gets chilly for sure. Shoes need to not only function (rain, snow or just plain chilly) we also need to keep our feet warn. Love my white trainers and my loafers, usually wear no show shocks. How do we style these for cold weather, no show socks are just not warm enough. Thank you!
Oh my gosh, your sunglasses are fucking amazing! I also love your earrings, but I don't wear earrings because my holes keep closing and a bloody earring is sooo not chic, haha.
Please tell us what sunglasses you are wearing in taping this video! They are SO COOL with the light blue lenses... are they sunglasses or regular glasses? Brand please!
Great tips for sure!I am so excited to see you adding a scarf, I have sooo many and hesitate to wear them.Would you consider brooches on a blazer, like the simple chanel one?
