It's high fire rate and high pen makes up for its small caliber, and since it has APHE, it can do a lot of damage in one shot. One of the best and my favourite T-34 in the game!
I had to get used to getting many assists with that machine. I love mine, both the tt version and the premium one, but if i had to choose between a 76 or 57 i’d take the 76. T-34/85 is the very best though, especially the E version
@@markaspiskunovas6960 Definitely yes, its even on sale for around 850 GE right now. I got it too and i love it, basically plays itself. If you like the regular T34 57 youll love the premium
The premium T34 57 gets the better turret and an APCR round useful for penning Churchills which are running rampant because of the current battle pass. On top of that, it gets the stronger 75 mm drivers hatch too. Talk about pay to win!
my favorite t-34. Because of the reload rate, turret rotation speed, repair costs, etc. For the 85 mm gun I use the KV-85. It's very fast for a heavy tank and has very good reverse speed. The repair costs are not high either.
This is kind of the situation I have with German medium tanks. The Leopard 1 might be the one with the biggest cannon and highest BR before one gets to the stabilised cannons, but the Panther 2 tops it in every aspect for me.
I totally agree with you For how much I love 88mm of Tiger, 122mm of Is-2 and152mm of KV-2 T-34-57 is just a great tank, a nice medium tank over all, best part of it its great penetration and reload time, just go "pew pew pew"
It's just like rifles, a smaller round will have a higher velocity giving it more penetration at closer ranges though they suffer at longer ranges as they lose speed due to drag while at longer ranges a larger round can perform better because it's greater mass will use shear mass to punch through. (This doesn't really pertain to Sabot rounds at high tiers as they use very dense metals to make up for their small size)
(Source: It was revealed to me in a dream) The main reason why it penetrates so much is that the Caliber kinda works like APDS pr APFSDS rounds Hitting a very small area making transfering energy to said area harder causing penetration
Only an APC design would be able to penetrate 145mm, though. AP shells really struggle to penetrate more than twice their caliber of armor, since the stress at high velocity usually breaks the nose.
The 57mm might have all the advantages of the world, really. The problem in my opinion is the tank. If you use it as a substitute for the t-34-85 you will have way less armour because the 85 is forged by the mighty hand of Stalin and his close friend, Mr Volumetric.
Please please please review le funni twin 23mm cannon strapped on a APC (the BTRZD). The HE shells on that thing is ludicrous, just grazing a wing can turn a plane to mush
I thought i was tweaking when i used this tank, it felt so much better than the other t-34s and even the 85's that came after it. Honestly my favourite t-34
I certainly love this little tank so much that I purchased even the 1943 variant during the anniversary. It's just such a great all-arounder. I do wish to say an information that I hope gets pinned. The T-34-57 is very prone to what could be called "barrel overheating" mechanic. Basically, if you continuously fire shots after shots, mainly for long-range, your shots will not be accurate for long. If you attempt to fire long-range shots too many times, you will have to wait between each shot after your 1st or 2nd shots, else you will not hit your target properly. This is crucial information, because this is a very hidden mechanic that never gets talked about, but can heavily hinder vehicle performance and opinion about it. The T-34-57's gun is also not on the same or performance as the T-34-85's gun as one might think. There's a less hidden mechanic called overmatching that basically makes higher caliber cannons be better on angles and also create more spalling when they pen (one of the reasons the ARL-44's gun is so strong at its BR). This is one of the reasons the 85's gun is said to ignore angles when in reality, it's just that it has higher caliber shells than most tanks it faces. The T-34-57 is worse with angles, so it's sometimes better to wait for enemies that are unaware of you to show a better flat side of their armor if they're unangled atleast, otherwise you have to pray a bit for a hit.
You still can play T-34-57 in hull down. It wobbles quite a bit, on the move and on the brakes. Tactically using the latter allows for huge depression boost which somehow doesn't COMPLETELY destroy your accuracy. It's difficult, but once this one click in your head, you feel yourself like some sort of slasher boogieman on most T-34 tanks, not just T-34-57.
one problem I ahve with it is by far the fact the small calliber means weaker penetration on slopes making the 57 prone to bouncing when shooting slopped armor
@@rxzxqx6982 I still had trouble penning shermans frontally with it in fact you can even see it in the beginning of the video the shell is not very reliable against slopped armor what can get you killed if you arent careful
You are wrong about the 57mm being better than the 85mm penetration wise. The 57mm can get better flat penetration as long the 85mm isnt using APCR ( it got buffed to something like 190mm ) but what you arent considering is the INSANE angled pen of the BR 365A shell. It can literally pen angled tigers across the map.
I’ve won 1v1 duels in matches with a t34-57, just recently duel 2 tigers, won both by shoot their gun and flaking their side, the fact I can bounce a 88 mm shell is crazy haha. Can’t really pen a tiger from the fron unless ur aim is real good
Hey so why not score this at a 9 instead if no serious downsides? Only thing I can imagine setting it back to 8 is cannon size but reload speed and penetration make up for this slightly less than spectacular post penetration dmg. In your opinion what would set it over the top for you?
He's mentioned in previous comments that 0 is useless and 10 is something that changes the tide of the battle merely by existing with few counters. While this T is quite powerful, it's not in OP territory yet.
But at this time aren't there 4 nations with T-34 variants? China Russia ofc Germany Sweden And i think that technically the smallest caliber on a T-34 variants is in the Phong Khong T-34
The 57 is honestly my preference when choosing a T34. I think it really fixes a lot of the major problems with most russian tanks. Unfortunately russian players are attracted to HE filler as if it was cocaine. So no one will ever listen to reason
Yeah, honestly, it quite easily fits into even a 5.3-5.7 line-up. I have the premium T-34-57, so I even use it there, because it's a great alternative to the T-34-85 due to having a better reload and a far smaller profile overall. The armor being worse is irrelevant, since T-34-85s get lolpenned anyways by almost everything aside from the stalinium turrets and the mobility is almost relatively the same, so it doesn't matter. Having a better reload though can decide life and death when facing a Tiger and Panther for example.
@@hunlepto2239 yeah i use it at 5.3 and its still good 👍 but i have been kinda unlucky with the 1 shots since i think a 3.14kg shell with only 27 grams is not enough to one shot a tiger or a panther reliably, but the fact you can shoot fast and have a high velocity makes the gun so much better then the L-11 And f-34 guns that the t34 76's use, just a good tank, not to mention you can shoot down planes well if you know how to aim well.
What are the name of the songs that you're using in these videos? Not sure if the other one was in this video, too, but there's one where you usually switch to arcade gameplay
I love using the T-34-57 but :( the rng is never in my favor I kill more tanks with heat bullets than with the AP of the T-34-57 it's sad because I love that tank
5:55 turet armor is very weak even for T34 model 1940. Perfect place to be oneshot by shermans, M10+, Swedish stuff, other T34 / KV1, Panzer 3 (long 50 mm), puma, panzer 4 (long 75 mm), StuG (long 75 mm), any tank destroyer soviet or german with HEAT... Trust me, i thought i would be as invicible as i faced many when playing german tanks, but i get oneshot so many times it's annoying. The lower turret front is shell trap (like on Panzer 4), so garantee oneshot from soviet 76 mm there (where EVERYONE *** AIMS)
Its way better having a 57mm gun with good fire rate and penetration than a 122mm gun (is2) with a great penetration but a damn 20+ seconds reload. Forget about playing at the front line with injured crew lol, u shoot once and the enemy 5 lmao
I also killed a maus with this thing. Yes normally, it won't penetrate no matter what but if you aim at the space between the turret and the body (from side) you can kill a maus with a few shots.
