Why this was never going to work...

I live in south sunny Spain, above the sea, on top of a mountain, off grid since 17 years ago. My adventure began when I was 50, and since the house was nearly finish I handle most things just by myself (house maintenance, fruit orchard and vegetable patch). I was a trendy town female, now I love this way of life, is thrilling, challenging, food for thought every day. Living in nature is top quality for the soul and body, even if often is not an easy task. I absolutely love you and your Chanel, I learn with you, I admire you and you make me laugh some times. Pro tip: Connect a vacuum attachment to your saw. Used the (now clean) sawdust mixed with a bit of wood glue to fill the holes. It will take stain better than wood putty and you will notice the fill over the screw holes less.

No matter how prepared you guys are, there's always something missing or you've run out of. You are perfect for the regular people. And listening to us who may know a little more or just gets you to think of another way is refreshing. Have a great week.

I discovered your channel a few weeks ago..I can't begin to tell you the joy you guys have brought me over a difficult time. You've lifted me up and I've loved watching your journey and everything you both have done.

This is my first time on your channel.... and while I came for the build... I fell in love with the dogs... Many years ago we had a red/white pair very similarly... Digger (red) and Eddy (white)... They lived 18 and 19 years respectively and were quite the beats of our hearts. We raised our 4 daughters with them and indeed the first couple of granddaughters before they left this earth... and were buried by a lighthouse in Nova Scotia. My husband has gone now too as has one of my daughters a few months ago. She was 33 and fought cervical cancer with more bravery and courage I could ever have imagined. You see... our birthdays were all April 28, 29 and 30 and I celebrated alone this year and missed them so deeply, drawing breath is still difficult... but I believe in signs, and I believe my Emily put your video in my path to bring a smile and sweet memories. My dog now has the great name of Charlie... so you see where I'm going. Em was a proud lesbian, and lived her every moment proud and true to who she was, and was loyal and had strength of character that I see in the two of you. Thank you both darlin boys for letting me rattle on, but somehow I think you were meant to hear my story... Ems story... and just hear from me, I will be here watching and cheering you onward and upward. I will as a mama keep you lifted in my prayers and send you all good mojo if you'll do but one small thing... Kiss your 'triever' babies for me and give them an extra Timbit. Love how you guys went from twinning lumberjacks to twinning crime scene cleanup 🤣 You guys are eliminating my fear of outhouses! Spring is still evading us is my part of Canada 😭 it's getting really depressing to have so much cold so late in the year. I want shorts and Sun, and trees to look alive! 😬 Y'all will be able to heat that space with an incandescent bulb or two! I live in Kenora Ontario and we get minus 40 and growing up we heated a lot of out buildings with insulation and an incandescent bulb, from water pump areas to our dogs house (which was actually big enough for a couple of ppl and her). I don't think over insulating will be an issue as far as energy conservation goes! All that insulation will also help protect you guys from crazy heat. Now, you guys just need to build a tunnel from the dome so you don't need to freeze to run potty in the winter ever again! Jk that's a lot extra 🤣

Hello from the gorgeous RedRock Wonder of Southern Utah! I’m in love with you darling “BOYZ2MEN” (my nickname for my 2 “God Sons” partners😍)! My father purchased our family cabin in 1962. Here we are in 2022! He dreamed big and worked himself tirelessly to achieve those dreams. It still remains in our family and has become the Most treasured, sacred and fun Place on Earth. (I have traveled the Globe & loved it all) but growing up and venturing thru Yellowstone National Park, The Tetons, and our Cabin in the Pines can really spoil a person for life. You are creating a place that you will hopefully treasure and return to thru decades of your life. I write to you, in hopes to give a tidbit for shelving for storage, whether in your fun “Moon Hut’ (outhouse) or your Forest Study (office), or new build. I love shelving built between the Studs of the Walls. It’s a great way to not ‘take-up’ much needed space. I’m not meaning huge shelves for large amounts of heavy books and equipment. Just referring to a place for small decor, toiletries, towels, office supplies, nicnacks, etc. even in my tub and shower, I have tiled nitch for my shampoo conditioner, etc. the bottles are large and heavy. It is awesome and doesn’t protrude into the shower area, like tile squares cut on diagonal do. Ensure a window, vents above but screen off for critters, and maybe a deep sink. That way you can wash some clothing. Retractable lines are great too, for drying. I don’t like laundry hanging but it could go off the back and Thuringia would dry in the Summer, outasite! I saw your Snowshoes! Yay! I am soooo jealous. It’s great you have a fun companionship! Please, continue to fend for the relation…it take compromise and sacrifice no matter what. It’s so important to have someone to share this World with, i know. Love & Loss is real. So hold on tite to what matters most! You gentlemen live in another lovely piece of Heaven as well! I love Canada! I love this Journey you have embarked on together. It’s wonderful for you to share it with all of us. Thank you so much! As a person with multiple mental health diagnosis, I have learned ONE MAJOR Lesson. That is "Emotions are Gifts You Give Yourself, and NO ONE can GIVE them or Take them AWAY from You (ME)." In that, to be stressed is a personal emotional choice. Do NOT surrender your personal power to your own feelings.

It looks so good, Carl & I bought a second home, a 120 yr old Craftsman bungalow. Pretty much gutting it, opened up kitchen, enlarged bathroom & enlarged dinning area. Took off all the plaster & lath, which was hell. Leveled the floors & had electrical up dated. Did the exterior first & removed the old concrete siding put on in the 80’s, took it to the original clap board siding, which is beautiful. Completely repainted & sanded the posts on porch; we received a large order of mums, a surprise from the neighborhood with a note “ thanks for making our neighborhood beautiful!” It’s been hell & a lot of primeval cussing.

I was really happy when Tyler was/seemed like he was in such a good mood even though it was a rough day. It just brought my level of “okay just smile it’s not all that bad” to what I was doing and I trudged on “Todd inspiration” and felt good when I was done. Tired, sore and hungry but good. It was a wonderful break in between what I was doing. Thanks guys!

The two of you so remind us of ourselves. The matching shirts, unending creative projects, guessing how many trips it might take to the lumber store per job (it’s always more”, and the love of your animals. We’ve had a rough couple of weeks. We had to put down Duke, Ray’s military service dog. We always referred to him as our angel in a dog suit. It was a torturous decision, but it was the right decision. He was 14, but you would never know it. He had a stroke during the night, so it was necessary. Just sharing because of all the people, we knew you would understand. Watching you spray foam the container was so encouraging! We are using a shipping container for a “root cellar”. We have never used that form of insulation. It will be great for storage of our potatoes, squash, apples, canned goods,and jams and preserves. Watching you guys, I think I might have Ray convinced of going solar. The past 8 years, we have restored a 118 year old farm house. It has been a series of CRAZY projects. I wish that you could see all the different things we have done. Ray developed a brilliant water system. We are so impressed with everything that you have accomplished! You keep us inspired! We’re going ape crazy at the sneak peak!!!

You guys do beautiful work and at the same time I genuinely have a question: If I had been in your position I might have been interested in wiring the interior for electrical outlets and lighting fixtures since there was easy access to the space inside the interior walls you are building. Perhaps I am missing something to do with the type of power sources you are using or maybe even such wiring might have triggered inordinate Nova Scotia building code requirements for permits/inspections? I am sure there may be plenty of good reasons; and please know that I don't wish to sound critical. I am just interested in the back story. Thanks so much for your patience in addressing my question. Also, thanks so much for being "Tyler and Todd"!!! Over the last several years, you have become a significant focus of my RU-vid viewing experience. Hey, I've been taking Athletic Greens for 2 months and I've lost 3 lbs. And even though I have to deal with a health issue that makes me fatigued, I feel more energetic. I use your videos as well as Van Wives and Camper Vibes to keep me trying to walk again. ( To put things in perspective: this morning I stubbed a toe; cue: copious amounts of blood. I couldn't apply a plaster/ bandage because my disability is such that I can't bend dow...as yet! ). I am inspired to keep trying to get back to being independently mobile because your videos, your hard work and your drive have infected me. Inspired me to get to a point in my life that I, too, can live the life I want for me - I want to wander around very rural parts of japan and South Korea ( only ) for a long, long time to come. This WAS my life before being paralysed. So thank you for constantly making a difference in my sometimes jaded attitude.

I apologize if this was addressed and I missed it/forgot, but were you planning on venting the washroom building? I don't think you want the sewage gasses building up in there. Bad things can happen. Thank you for sharing your passion and energy with us. While my wife and I are nowhere near as ambitious as you two, we always enjoy your projects and shenanigans and like to live vicariously through you.

your definitely going to want a ceiling vent in the outhouse with all that insulation otherwise its going to smell like rotten turds inside when the air vents up through the toilet and has nowhere to go.
