Though a fierce fighter at its core, the M2 Bradley's primary role remains safeguarding soldiers' lives. As recent conflicts in Ukraine have demonstrated, it is unparalleled in fulfilling this duty.
The US Army’s M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle is a full-tracked, medium-armored vehicle capable of providing cross-country mobility and protection to mechanized units.
These vehicles were meant to serve as both an armored personnel carrier and a tank-killer.
The M2 Bradley IFV, a formidable armored fortress on tracks, embodies both agility and defense in its design.
Its primary armor is constructed from high-strength welded aluminum, fortified further with spaced laminate belts and reactive armor tiles to withstand the onslaught of enemy fire. The thickness of the armor, which incorporates classified composite materials, offers an optimized balance between protection and weight, safeguarding against a variety of anti-armor threats.
The main armament is an ATK Ammunition Systems (formerly Boeing Ordnance) 25mm M242 Bushmaster chain gun. The M242 has a single barrel with an integrated dual feed mechanism and remote feed selection. The IFV’s arsenal also includes a 7.62 coaxial machine gun, armor-piercing, sub-caliber, and high-explosive ammunition. Besides, Bradley has a TOW ATGM launcher.
Infantry can fight from inside the vehicle by using modified M-16 rifles mounted in firing ports although these ports were removed from A2 version onward. As of the end of July 2023, Ukrainian Bradleys have been equipped with the advanced BUSK kit.

People like to discuss armor and weapon systems, but they often forget that the primary weapon system of any IFV is the infantry they carry. All the other weapons are to be i support of the infantry. I was trained on the M3 Bradley, the cavalry scout version oh so many decades ago.

My dad was a desert storm combat veteran in Bradley. After nearly 35 years, this warrior machine still kicking butt. Although it isn’t designed to go up against the tank, but it seem to have enough muscle to deal with it

They lost me when they mentioned the m16 being able be used for infantry firing from within it and then made an animation of it in the coax position. It’s along the sides guys, or used to be.

@@whiteknucklesthe Bradley has lost 1000XS less then BMP1-2 and T-72S as footage and photos show the past 2 years and has better technology and longer range weapons aka Tow Missile and is more fearsome then the Btr or terminator it has the edge and is harder to beat and still beaten keeps the crew alive and ready to fight again with its smoke grenades

I admit that, bushmaster had some drawbacks in terms of rate of fire, but in today's technology it really depends on who fired first, and this put the Bradley on top.

The Russian ifv is a joke compared to the Bradley. Not even in the same class. The Russian ifv is a coffin on wheels. The Bradley is beast and is also why in Ukraine the Russians invested heavy in land mines, the Russians have nothing to compete against a Bradley aside from air craft.

On the battlefield even the Russians want a Bradley, every soldier wants to live and nobody survives being hit inside those Russians ifv, the main gun on the Russian ifv has a nasty shake when it shoots making it very inaccurate.

they definitely will die with no air support or superiority which to me is courageous, naive but necessary... They need to basically D-Day their soldiers in a way, they have to send many to the fronts to die but sooner or later they become patrols, defensive lines. Ukraine has lost a lot but they're already fighting for their lives, Russia has lost way too much for a neighboring country no matter if USA helping. The first week if Russian army was strategic and superior they could've capitulated Kyiv and took over more than half of Ukraine easily but they were arrogant, Putin thought the world was scared of Russia they wouldn't dare to kill that many of their soldiers. Anyway, Russia is still fighting so it's sad for the young guys in Russia sent to their death but it also makes them for worse soldiers as they're more susceptible to hide, not perform as well or try to avoid combat

@@pandibbarman The counter-offensive has been going on for three and a half months during which they could've deployed God knows how many troops. Mobilization in Ukraine was already taking place and continues up to this day. All of the Ukrainian advancement (gained land) took place in the disputed area in front of the main Russian defense line and even so, it remains miniscule.

At the moment, the Ukrainian army uses Bradley only to transport soldiers to the front line, then these soldiers walk through minefields with their feet under artillery fire, this is called "meat assaults". The Ukrainian leadership takes care of Bradley and tanks, but they don't care about their soldiers. Therefore, the use of these Bradleys at the moment is 0😂

You think that's great? of course equipment will be captured or damaged it's a damn war where Ukraine has no air superiority and anti-tank weapons/drones are literally having a field day against tanks... Bradley's are as good as their operator. You can have a convoy of Abrams donated to Ukraine but if those tank commanders don't know what they're doing of course a more experienced army, with the capabilities can destroy any equipment. These are not some magic tanks that don't get damaged
