In my experience most untrained street fighters will not fight alone. If he’s with a pack of friends it’s wise to assume you’ll have to fight the group.

My group of 4 today got jumped by 8-9 guys. Keep in mind that we’re untrained and sadly took the flight route. We wanted to stand our ground but we were just outnumbered. They were much bigger and taller than us so the intimidation and fear took the better of us. It made me want to learn martial arts

Another factor that makes a person a tough fighter is their lack of fear in losing. They accept that they may lose and they embrace the idea rather than fear it. They learn from defeat and keep moving forward. As Rocky Balboa said to his son “You gotta take the hit and keep moving forward”. All these champions we see today suffered heavy losses and defeats, BUT they never quit.

We were taught every fight was a life and death situation; only one comes out alive. I taught this to my children. It has worked out very well. Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Thank you very much for your time. Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them)… Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them. (19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Salam (Peace) -----------

Controlling distance only works in a ring with a ref. At some point you are going to get grabbed and you will have to deal with grappling. Even untrained fighters will instinctively resort to this if they aren't landing any punches. They will grab hair, fishhook you, gouge eyes, kick nuts, use a nearby rock, all the dirty stuff you are protected from in a ring.

You are 100% right. I was recently attacked by 4 20-something year old Dominican Gang members who really wanted to hurt me. I’m 56 years old and although I’m in better shape than the average 56 year old, the bottom line is, I am a 56 year old man. I live in Washington Heights, NYC!!! I was walking Down a street, headphones in as I talked to my friend. As I walked past a group of low life crack dealers, one came up behind me and knocked of my hat. I turned around to confront the idiot. Before I knew it, there were punches coming in from Every Direction. As these kids threw wide ass punches both left and right, I had to go into a tight defense, to protect both my face and my ribs. They’re punches were basically powerless, but, with 8 sets of hands and feet coming at you all at once leaves very little time to develop a strategy. So, I tried to wait them out and prayed they got tired. Unfortunately, that was not the case, they were young and full of energy, 😂🤣 I was able to block most of their wide “punches” I could see them from a mile away, but when they finally got me down for the first time, I thought I was dead, but, I wasn’t, I got back to my feet and continued to weather the storm. The second knock down, was a bit more difficult to get up from, as they stomped and kicked and punched at me, not really connecting all that much, although one stomp on my ribs ended up breaking 3 ribs. My jaw was swollen and my elbow has a chipped bone, oh, and they knocked out 3 of my bottom teeth. The scariest part of the whole thing was when one of them, about 6’2” tried to slam me head first into the concrete sidewalk. Well, I knew I couldn’t allow that to happen, so, I was able to get my arms across the back of his neck, I locked my wrists and pushed down with all of my strength (I’m 5’8” and 157lbs) when we both hit the ground is when one of his little “girl friends” kicked me in the mouth, knocking out my teeth. Eventually they got tired and I was able to scramble away, minus my new hat, my headphones and a few other small items. I was able to keep, my wallet, my phone and most importantly, MY LIFE!!! This was an unprovoked attack, to this day(it’s been 3 weeks) I don’t know why I was chosen for that random beating, all I know is that I was able to leave with my life and in my world, that means, I WON!!! It has become unsafe for innocent people in this city and it’s only gonna get worse. I wish everyone a safe and Blessed Day.

To explain for other people, whether it be swordfighting or other martial arts, "the thing you ought not to do" is not advisable specifically because it's easily countered and it gets you killed. No expert will ever be caught off guard by something unskillful, quite the opposite, to be an expert is to be able to catch other people off guard and to be a beginner means to be completely predictable. A beginner in sword-fighting will use wide sweeping motions, he will telegraph the incoming strike and take way too long to execute it. Thus he will get killed before he even has a chance to strike, or he will get parried and then killed. Same with regular martial arts, a beginner will throw a telegraphed haymaker, which will easily get countered. Beginners aren't random, beginners by their inability to execute more complicated attacks, are perfectly predictable.

@@Justin-ed5xu unarmored fights are quite different from weapon based duels. one lucky hit from the untrained person can kill the opponent. not very likely though, but it happened numerous times through the history. in my country, the last deadly (sword) duel was fought approximately 100 years ago, it was supposed go until first blood, also only cuts were allowed, but the untrained guy panicked and held his sword forward, and his opponent (a seasoned duellist) basically impaled himself. while what Namelikanyother says (beginners arent random) is mostly true, they can produce some very strange actions that are so unbelievable that sometimes they work. about 5% of the time. so don't bet on the rookie, but he must be taken seriously.

Did Ju Jitsu for 5 years. I have to say best real life experience I can highly recommend to anyone looking to build confidence dealing with high stress situations in a semi-controlled environment is working in care with autistic adults, particularly the violent ones. You deal daily with extreme violence which can occur at any time, even over cornflakes. Suddenly you are faced with a 200Ib man screaming at you clambering across the table looking to bite or strangle you full force nothing held back. It is an amazing experience because over the months you deal with these situations you gain deadened nerves. Now I'm at the point where in a scary movie or my wife tries to make me jump I'm just immune to it mostly. Your body builds a resistance to the adrenaline response which floods your system, its still there but you are much more in control. I imagine it's very similar to how police, military or doormen build a tolerance to extremely violent situations they deal with regularly. Before with roadrage I would be shaking like a leaf if my adrenaline took off, now I'm much better in control of situations. If someone randomly screamed in my face in the street it wouldn't phase me as I deal with that daily. If you are not able to work full time then consider volunteering, its a very spiritually rewarding job even if it's low paid and secretly it turns you into a very calm person inside as a side effect. You can't train this experience, you just can't. It's like reading a book on cycling or swimming without ever getting on a bike or in the water. You need to immerse yourself in that environment to better deal with it. So far, care work with violent adults is the safest controlled environment to work in this type of capacity. Just a personal testimonial, God bless 👍

As a younger man I used to fight a lot. Had some training and could handle myself fairly well, but also lost quite a number of fights. As I got older I learned you never lose a fight you avoid. Can sometimes be punishing to the ego to walk away from someone who really deserves to get smacked around, but you never know exactly who or what you're dealing with. I no longer find black eyes, swollen face and cracked ribs terribly becoming...

Couldn't agree more with most of this. I grew up in a small town. Fighting was a part of our weekend activities. I learned early that the most dangerous fighters are street fighters. They don't fall for fakes and they are often awkward in style, and you just never know what they are going to do other than an overwhelming hyperagressive flurry attack. They just don't stop till its done. In that moment you must become an animal and do what you need to do...forget the idea of a "fair fight", and just make sure you get to go home afterward.

Everyone falls for feints, it is a staple of any combat sport. Nobody has the reaction time or clairvoyance to tell if that 2nd or 3rd feint is a real punch coming. Untrained fighters that "don't fall for fakes" usually have cut up faces and lose most fights because they don't feel the need for proactive head movement and just eat the punch. You can tough your way through some fights, but it is better to make them miss then make them pay. Some fighters can use their oscar winning rage demonstrations to intimidate a malnourished vegan maybe, but a trained fighter has already seen that many times and they know when you are done strutting, you have to get within punching range to do anything.

For your straight kick I'm seeing a quick sidestep followed by a counter to your jaw with that move. This, or kick out the supporting leg if you want to troll, allow them to recover and try again. You make yourself vulnerable being on one leg even for a moment. Kicks to the face? Well, you might as well be giving up your crotch. All you have to do is duck and it is like when Spiderman dodged Flash's punch and looked around in wonder for a moment before countering. Both males and females can have the femoral artery ruptured with a good shot to that region. Another thing to consider is if you can take a counter punch to the kicking knee? Only takes 5 pounds of pressure to snap a knee. So the forward pressure of the punch mixed with the forward pressure of the kick means the punch is going to win that one and you wouldn't be able to stand. Another way to block a roundhouse kick is to step into the opponent so only the thigh strikes you. If you do it right, you can grab the whole leg and put your opponent in a hip lock, ripping the hip from its socket. You might not heal up 100% if that occurred.

@@Kudeghraw that's all assuming an untrained fighter could pull off any of that. As someone who grew up fighting, so much so I can't count all of my fights, was kicked out of a couple of schools and who nearly all, of my childhood friends were fighters as well; you got many things right and many things wrong. 1) You experience anxiety/fear before every fight. I don't care if it's the first or the last one you had, with one exception: rage. If the fight started because of something that enraged you, you were not afraid going into it. you were eager to fight. If the fights came to you and you did what you had to do because of respect or necessity, you had anxiety. I know this was true for me and all of my friends. 2) Many, many fighters where i grew up had a warrior code. No sucker punches, no jumping people etc etc. Cowards did not follow this and usually roamed in packs/gangs. The respectable fighters had a code and fought 1 on 1. 3) Most of these fighters are angry for many reasons. Reasons the systems in place have failed to address and help them with. At Least for me, I experienced a release of all I was angry or upset about. Like a blow off valve on a boiler or propane tank. It was one of the greatest feelings/highs in the world. Growing up where I did, you fight for respect mostly. It took a teacher i respected showing me the error of my ways and the path I was on for me to make the internal changes to step off that path. He did the same for me and my friends. Because of him; I've intentionally reprogrammed myself over 15 years. Where before I would fight over a stare or stepping on my shoes; now nothing can put me in that state unless I'm physically touched, my lady disrespected or someone I love has been touched 4) "Untrained" fighters are dangerous because their fighting style cant be taught. I kept all of my opponents off balance the entire fight, repositioning them to my advantage and purposely pushing them into objects to keep them off balance and disoriented. As someone who now trains(I still very new at these, only 4 years of training on and off.) in Muay Thai, BJJ, Krav Maga and boxing, I can definitively tell you that most "trained" fighters wouldn't stand a chance against a trained street fighter who knows how to use their environments to their advantage. (This would be a dope dojo if it could be taught. I know certain gov agencies teach this to some extent.) Take away: If the government, taught emotional regulation in schools (not anger management, that is an utter failure and taught by people who know nothing about those feelings.) I mean meditation, release, self love and more. I believe this is the key to dramatically decreasing the incarceration rates in inner cities, a decrease in school shootings and general wellbeing of the public. EDIT: Amazes me how many commented on this saying a trained street fighter wouldn't stand a chance against a trained fighters... here are some trained street fighters; you may know them: Mike Tyson, Connor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov and then some. All of them got their start in the fighting world by being real warriors in the street before they entered the ring. In case you don't know them; they all held world champion titles. This is, my data proven, point.

MISSING is the most common aspect of street fighting and that is the screaming girlfriend. Ive watched hundreds of fights from my taxi between 89-99 (2-5/ week for 500 weeks) in Toronto on night shift. There are always bro's to hold back their friend.... and HER. I have seen her be an amazing distraction and She can easily instigate. On rare occasions Ive seen her blindside her boyfriends opponent during the fight. So, a wrestling match(90%) can have her wade in with a weapon like a bottle, keys.... Ive also see her punch repeatedly and occasionally with plenty of warning, get dropped. BTW: In the hundreds of fights I witnessed, I can only think of a handful that had a skilled fighter involved. It was strait boxing skills that won. One or two strait left jabs, elbows in while the other guy was swinging wild roundhouses. To be fair, EVERYONE WAS DRUNK and was before MMA and BJJ. The smartest thing I witnessed was talking to bouncers at 2 different locations who had done it for 25 years. They never fought. They were absolute masters of tactics and talking. The dumbest thing I ever saw was young bouncers holding back one of their co workers while the already bounced patron was nailing him with 3-5 clean shots until the two "holding back" bouncers realised they just did a Frank Sinatra for the drunk Newfie who had been tossed. It was all a shit show and I dont know why anyone would go to a club or bar. If you want to get laid, go listen to folk music at a coffee house and pretend your a vegetarian..

What I can say about the burning out part is, train your breathing. Doing breathing exercises can really help you in a chaotic fight. You also need a cool head obviously, but it's useful to do it. Because of that, I was able to not burn out and was able to keep fighting for a whole minute or two with ease. Especially if you're doing a security job like me where you always could end up rolling with one or more guys on the ground, it's essential to not go out of breath after 5-10 seconds lol

@The 90's Yeah I'm doing it in Germany, it's not really that much different. Also the risk of getting stabbed, but thanks to my MMA training I know how to control the arms and that too is very important in self-defense, to see where the hands go. I'm just lucky to always have a team with me. Those who are alone or just two, you shouldn't even end up on the ground at all then.

I found as a young man I was definitely a rage fighter that I actually had major problems controlling. As an adult I started training bjj& kickboxing. During this training I finally found something that taught me how to control my rage and fight, compete from a calm mindset. I personally believe once a person with rage issues learns how to turn rage on and off it is very much a advantage over someone has no rage or doesn't know how to turn it on and off to their advantage

Grab and strike is the method I would use most often while growing up. The idea was to inflict as much damage as possible as quickly as possible. Either with a headbutt, elbow or fist. What I never did though was continue once the opponent was incapacitated. I was really skinny and a bit of a nerd so most of my fights were against larger bullies that saw me as weak. Fortunately I didn't think like a victim and my temper would override any fear I probably should have had. I also had an extraordinarily hard head and a great chin. I could take their best shots and be practically unfazed. What I didn't want was for them to get me on the ground where they could use their weight and strength advantage to tire me out. I didn't actually learn to fight until I was older and now I'm too old for that nonsense. LOL

An untrained person can’t even touch me or anyone at my level. I’ve been in street fights against multiple people 2x my size and took them out very quickly. Also have had countless newcomers challenge me at the gyms I train at. A regular untrained person does not understand the disadvantage they are at. They can’t take any body shots without folding or know how to handle leg kicks let alone actually land a shot on a trained person. If you disagree go to a mma gym and find out.

There are a few things being overlooked. One basic of fighting is energy control. If you flip out and get ragey in an attempt to intimidate your opponent, you spend energy. When you finally exchange, the untrained fighter would punch themselves out while the trained fighter knows how to conserve energy and use bursts when opportunities are setup. Stamina makes a huge difference. A good test is to walk up to a heavy bag, cold. Now land a barrage of punches on the bag. If you are sucking wind after that, you won't win many fights. Maybe you are more of a wrestler/mma type, well now you need even more energy to move your opponent's body weight in addition to your own. Maybe you think you are a ranged fighter and are going to keep someone at a distance with jabs. Street fights are not won on points. You need to knock your opponent out or they will keep coming at you with no ref. I just see a lot of drunks that have to learn this the hard way. Or the scared shitless little guy that bounces around and around running away and tries to jump in with a wild punch once in a while. If you know you can't fight, you probably shouldn't. Better to be a coward than end up in the hospital or maybe even dead.

You gotta know there is a place that cant be gotten too in your head, and you gotta want to hurt the other guy you have to dehumanize him, its all mental, my advice if your in a situation, i reccomend avoiding all fights, even fights i win lead to broken hands, broken nose, scar on my eye, and several teeth bondings, good luck!

A couple of years ago minding my own business, passing a group of hooligans after their team maybe lost a match (don’t care, don’t watch) a guy was very aggressively first directly in my face without a particular reason. I held my ground and then was turning away as if he did want to leave. Just of a sudden he flipped around (like somebody trying an ushiro geri) the other side of his body extending his elbow. Kind of trying to get his entire momentum into his elbow and into my face. Unlucky him, as he turned around I had already made two steps backwards, kind of anticipating some dirty move and being aware that I was still somehow in his reach. When his elbow and then stretching out fist did (just by extending his arm) missed me, I was able to slide in with my elbow against his jaw & ear, knocking him out cold. With his left he had the intention to place a liver shot, but it just lost all power and momentum when I got him. He went down like a sack of potatoes. When the guy woke up again a little later, he didn’t even know what happened. Stood up and walked away dizzily and didn’t have the strength to restart the fight. I was very lucky that none of his friends came up to me. Normally I would have expected the one or the other of his pals circling into my back to sucker punch me when given the opportunity, but it didn’t happen. Maybe they thought that he had this in the bag or did not even notice what had happened. Also often when you take out the leader the balls of his friends shrink. Ever since I rather avoid any “mass gatherings” or guys standing loudly and aggressively in front of a pub. I am not going to try my luck as I am not getting any younger, despite doing martial arts (Kyokushin, Kendo, a.o. - I am about 6” 1 and what you call a super heavy weight) since 1982, I tend to avoid to be trapped in such situation again. Since I believe that against such aggressive kids I wouldn’t have any chance today, at least not by a large margin and I don’t want to find out.

I took karate in high school and later me and a buddy got some headgear/pads and self trained with boxing - after my friend found out in a street fight how easy it was to block a kick. His brother knew a feared bar brawler who had everyone intimidated. They invited him to a local gym and put gloves on him. They were both amazed at how easy he was to hit. They even had to take it easy on him. They concluded, like you were pointing out, that he probably hit the other guy without warning and once his victim was stunned - followed up with haymakers. In a situation like that, if you survive the first sucker punch, you need to escape the barrage until you have your wits back.

People also forget that a simple jab or straight punch can dazzle you when it's bare knuckle, even if it's not hard. You don't have to hit hard. Nor is it recommended as you can break your hand. So although those dudes at the gym might be able to survive his punches in a gloved boxing match it doesn't mean they'd survive it if it was bare knuckle. It's a different game. In a street fight, speed and accuracy and the element of surprise matters more than power.

This is absolutely right, which is the main reason why street fighters tend to be more dangerous than classically trained martial artists. Rules don’t exist in street fights PERIOD! One thing I’ve learned above all else over the years is that under stress, you will fall back to the most basic skills you’ve practiced, no matter whether you are fighting, shooting, whatever. This is why I eventually stopped competing in point fighting matches! When you practice “holding back”, it becomes muscle memory.

Kudos to the many street fighters posting here who've found other ways to deal with situations and the thoughts and emotions the situations arouse in us. I was a hard head and fighter well into my 30s. When my son was born, I had a fractured cheekbone, stitches in my face and the compression bandage had just come off my left eye. I had been blind sided with a brick. The good news was I could still see out of my eye. The bad news was I'd lost 200 feet of vision and I'm legally blind in that eye without corrective lenses. I took one look at my kid and promised myself he'd have a better life and more choices than I did. He's 24 and I had more stitches in my face the day he was born than he's had his entire life. I kept my promise.

When you are angry you are tense and not thinking right. 3) when I would mess around with him as a teenager, he never fought fair. He didn’t fight according to the rules. 4) real fighters don’t have to brag about how tough they are, they just walk up and knock you out. 5) people that can fight have a certain walk to them.

I would like to share a Memory of me: When I was younger (I am 36 right now and I must‘ve been about 22 Years at that time) I was visiting a good Comrade at his Karate Course (I think? I can‘t distinguish between all the Martial Arts) and he introduced me to his Teacher. My Friend told him that I was feared by everyone in School in the past and he asked me to Assist him as an example for his Students for this Training Lesson. I was curious, so I asked him what I should do. He answered: Fight me. After setting up the Rules to this Fight we both got ready and started fighting. The Rules were: - I was not allowed to hold back - I was allowed to use anything at my Disposal (Even a Knife if I would have had one, but I always referred using my Fists, Knees or even my Head) - We agreed on shouting „Stop“ as a Signal for ending the Fight I didn‘t knew what he wanted, did he want to embarrass me, was he trying to test himself or something different? That was what I was thinking before we started. The actual Fight was about a few Minutes (1 to 2 I would say) until he would shout the Signal Word and I immediately stopped. I can‘t remember what I did, but everyone just looked scared and in disbelief. After the Fight he thanked me and started talking to his Students. He wanted them to know, that even if they think they are good in using their techniques in self defense, they should never underestimate their Opponents. Even ones such as me, who never trained or knowingly used a technique in their life. He summed up some Traits for the one of Opponents he believes are the most Dangerous to lookout for: - They are aggressive as hell and want to hurt you badly - They use everything to their Advantage and will punish you for every single mistake you make even if you show kindness to them - They don‘t know what they are capable of themselves (This is very Dangerous because they may harm you more then they would think they do) - They are unpredictable and unprofessional (you could be killed accidentally) - They won‘t stop and will deal blow after blow, without thinking, if they get the upper Hand - They may fall in blind Rage and cannot be reasoned with anymore - expect no Mercy and be prepared to get severely injured as they don‘t know that the Human Body is actually badly designed - Be aware that your Opponent can and will resort to cheap Tactics and desperate Actions - They don’t think about their possible Defeat - They are Vicious After he explained all the Points mentioned he ended the Lesson and asked me to talk to him before I would leave. He said that he never believed my Friends Words of me being that dangerous, as he was often talking about me after the Lessons. After he saw me for the first time he made up his mind and admitted he got curious and thus asked me to do this. He went further and told me that actually Three of all of my attempts to attack him would‘ve resulted in severe Injuries that could‘ve disabled and crippled him for life. I was absolutely shocked, as I didn‘t even know what I did during the actual Fight. He gave me the Advise to work on me as my Actions, even if performed unknowingly, could result in tragedy. Especially, because I was not even that old. I took it by Heart and told him that I don‘t want that and that I would work on myself and at least try to educate me more about certain things. He told me that I am a nice Guy and could visit whenever I want. So please have in mind: Anyone can be very Dangerous. Not only the People who train, but also the People who don‘t. Don‘t be ashamed to run off as it is the best Decision to avoid getting injured or injuring someone severely. Please excuse my Typos or Mispellings, because English is not my native Language. I am from Germany. I just wanted to share this. Please use Force only, if it is unavoidable or to protect yourself or someone else who cannot defend themselves. Thank you.

I found my left arm was grabbed and secured in some type of lock where he was steering my bodyweight towards the floor, yet the lock of shock on his face when i reached over and grabbed his windpipe between my thumb and fingers and squeezed hard was priceless. he abandoned the lock and resorted to fighting my hand/grip in panic. the point being i could have also goued his eye, fish hooked him or simple twisted his ear hard from that same position in that time frame to gain instant advantage and he would have been just as shocked that happened as he didnt anticipate it as he was thinking obviously only strikes and holds

The mindset thing is very dangerous, when I was young I had anger issues big time, mainly because I was bullied so much. I started lifting weights daily, doing cardio and quickly became one of the strongest kids in the entire school. But before the lifting, it was that angry aggressive mindset, that allowed me to out play everyone, I always had more energy and more UMPH behind my swings than anybody else did. It actually became very enjoyable watching myself knock out all my bullies cold 😂, so I definitely did enjoy and loved fighting, and I grew up my whole life doing so. I later decided to box after school, because I love the act of fighting so much. But if somebody is riled up and always ready to fight or gets mad easily, I’d be very wary of that dude 😂

Western boxing has a faster pace than Muay Thai b/c of superior footwork and punching combinations. Also "kickboxing" is a blanket term that covers most traditional, non-grappling martial arts (Karate, Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, etc.) I will also say that boxing has contact sparring and competition, whereas most striking arts have grade schoolers running around w/black belts. McDojos do point sparring exclusively (to accept everyone's money, regardless of ability.) On JRE podcast, Joe Rogan explained how a Karate-ka in the 70's once went 2-1 in Thailand vs Thai boxers b/c once upon a time, Karate was legit. Too bad (most) Karate sold out. I’m a skinnier guy who’s fought several guys bigger than me, I’ve yet to get seriously hurt and attribute this to instincts. If I find myself in a street fight, I’m thinking, if this guy has his way with me, I might not make it out alive, and I won’t let that happen no matter what. Everything else falls in place, as far as my movements, timing, etc. I used to get my ass kicked as a young boy by an abusive man at home, he’d make my older brother & I fight. I must have developed super human strength because I will bring competition to most men, big or small. I think training in MMA would make me more dangerous, and I plan to do exactly that. I don’t look for fights but the aggression is there on a primal & instinctual level. I always respect opponents who fight fairly and with honor, regardless of the events that transpired prior. There’s situations you can’t realistically win, so I do have more effective self defense means these days.

After spending years on the wrestling mat and placing in the state tournament, watching two unskilled fighters swing wildly at each other with no knowledge of how to scramble for position or using their opponents weight against them I was always confident in my abilities. I never liked to fight but after getting into my 20’s I just realized that some people are assholes and deserve to get put in their place. So I practiced my technique of standing straight up with my fists up and going in like I am going to just swing and throw 3-4 straight jabs then drop straight to a double leg and jack them in the air over my head and slam them on the ground. From the ground, 9 out of 10 people are out of their element and I could have my will with them.

@@falcoserpentine1769 I’m sorry to hear about that. I don’t know where you live but unfortunately here in the United States all that freedom talk is nonsense. I was a huge supporter of our police and law enforcement by default. I just always believed that it was good guys chasing bad guys. We have 2.1 million people incarcerated in the US, which is almost 1% of the population. We live in a freaking police state. We have ultra aggressive police that could, and should, be able to come into a situation and use the power given to them to deescalate things but instead almost always throw their attitude around and become violent with people who desperately needed some type of intervention to stop an out of control situation. They are so hostile and so aggressive and they treat people so badly that they have all become apathetic and couldn’t care less about injuring and violently assaulting the people they come in contact with. And when they assault someone and they do anything to defend themselves or protect themselves then the cops who assault them charge them with battery and all kinds of other lies. Police lie on all police reports. They don’t even know how to be impartial anymore. They know exactly what to say on a police report to get people in the most trouble possible. An encounter with police today is a devastating experience to most people. It’s like a wrecking ball moving through your life and in a matter of minutes you can be ruined physically, emotionally, and certainly financially. They are executing people in the streets that have done nothing to deserve being shot and killed. There is and always will be those people who really believe that all police are full of integrity and truth because they personally have never been rag dolled by our police and are just ignorant, but the people that have been abused by police and processed through our highly corrupt and lopsided justice system is growing. We are watching the backlash from the public grow and this is through nobody’s fault but the actions of the police themselves. I hope you were able to get your life back to a somewhat normal place after experiencing what you had to experience. The outrage over police misconduct, brutality, and zero accountability for their actions is growing fast.

@@KINGSOMALIA I tell you what, save your pennies and purchase a Glock 19 or a Springfield 1911. Go to Idaho and establish residency by opening a PO Box then head out to the DMV and apply for a Concealed Weapons Permit. The playing field will become equal very quickly. If you happen to be disenfranchised due to a criminal conviction, first clean your life up as best you can and surround yourself with positive people and positive things. The system completely rigged against average citizens and once you go down for something you join about 5.1 million other’s who are cycled in and out of US government institutions. If you have a sustained period of good behavior hire an attorney and apply for expungement. I know people that have been convicted of over 20 felonies and they were able to expunge their record. If you mess up though, get back on the wagon and try again. Life is long and it’s never too late to be a better person. Then, once you are carrying that concealed weapon do yourself a big favor and never take it to the bar. If you had to use it there then even if you are completely in the right, you are still in the wrong. If you ever have to pull your gun out, be extremely vocal and start yelling “Stop,” or “help” “leave me alone” “ don’t touch her,” things of that nature. This is a page right out of the law enforcement handbook. How many times have you heard the cops yell “Stop resisting?” They yell this whether you are resisting or not because it creates witnesses out of bystanders who can all testify in court that you pretty much tried everything before you used your gun. I’m sure you saw at least something in the news about Kyle Rittenhouse. The dude was accosted by a very aggressive protestor who told him earlier in the night that he was going to kill him if he got him alone. The guy lunged at Rittenhouse behind a parked car and got shot for it. Then the mob started forming and making threats to him without knowing any details of what happened. Kyle saw what was happening and began to high-tail it out of there. The mob chased him up the street while their chants of “get him!” We’re getting louder. Someone managed to catch up to him and clubbed him in the back of the head with something and he stumbled and lost his footing. While flat on his back another guy with a skateboard hit him twice in the head and another idiot jump kicked him right in the face and spun him around 180 degrees. He managed to shoot and kill the guy with the skateboard and as he got kicked another protestor tried to run up behind him with a Glock in his hand. Kyle pointed his AR-15 at him and he put his hands in the air signaling like he gives up. Then just as Kyle lowers his AR back down the idiot points his Glock right at Kyle’s face so Kyle raises his gun on him again and shot him through right arm. In the clearest case of self defense I have ever seen Kyle still had to spend 4 months in jail and go on trial for 3 counts of murder. One more thing, if there is only you and the person attacking you, be sure you kill the person. I hate to say that and hope nobody has to do it, but if they live you go to trial for sure and run a huge chance spending 20+ years in prison. If they are dead then the evidence has to match your story and you will stay a free man with no trial. Just an fyi. But I’ll still be your friend 😂 haha

@Streets Padrino California my man, Bay Area. 9 to the 2 to the m***** f****** 5 😆 Killing someone in a street fight I imagine would get you in deep shit no matter where you are. I hope that’s not what happened to you!?! When you get your hands on another person you can tell pretty quickly if they have experience or not and I would definitely tailor my fighting to just beat them. If you just grab a drunk guy and rip his arms off and beat him with them you’ll be looking at 20-25 years for sure so just handing out enough punishment that they can still walk away while learning a lesson would be ideal. It is always recommended to take a page out of the law handbook and yell things which will create witnesses on your behalf in court. Police will scream “Stop Resisting!” Over and over while they beat on completely defenseless people in handcuffs.

2 months ago, I had to fight in my bedroom at 6am with a burglar. I worked 9 hours the day before, had less than 4 hours of sleep and was fighting with a random guy in my bed just a few minutes after waking up. I gassed out very quickly after punching his face a dozen times, but no knock out. Then he tackled me, we wrestled and he successfully mounted me while I had no energy left, just a raging glare in my eyes. I thought I was about to die. But strangely, he got up, let me get up too without trying to hit me. Matter of fact, I was the only one who did the hitting. I told him to wait while I was putting my pants on lol then walked him out of my house, and got back everything he stole. He had another guy with him whom I haven't seen, so they did steal a couple of things. I also broke a finger and couldn't work for 2 months. I'm actually still not working until next week. I'm no fighter, I have no muscles, I don't go to the gym, but I have been in life or death situation before and my brain just reacts. Usually I flee, but when you're in your bed, you can't. I like that part about fights going only for seconds. I took martial arts training for about 4 years in my early teens then I wrestled all through high school. Then I bounced for two years at a pretty rowdy club. I definitely enjoyed fighting. I started lifting when I was 14 and haven’t stopped to this day as I’m 33 years old. So I’m pretty bulked up. Anyways I once went into a health food store and the owner of the store was a boxing instructor. He was on me as soon as I walked in trying to get time to come join his class. I couldn’t even find what I was looking for because he wouldn’t shut up about how “his fighters were the best” and “he could teach me to fight” I continued to politely decline his offers and explained that “I can hold my own and have no desire to go to a boxing class” that must have pissed him off because he said “ you muscle bound guys can’t hit a speed bag for 60 seconds so my fighters would run circles around you” I said “well sir, no fight I’ve been in lasted 60 seconds, all I need is one clean hit” then I walked out. What a cocky prick that guy was.

Everything you've said about the grabbing trick explains it all. I'm not even close to being a street fighter (nor a good fighter at all), but each of the times I've been in the need to control someone by grabbing his neck, I've noticed how they first become paralyzed an then desperately seek to get rid of my hand instead of simply hitting me directly... And, to be honest, I didn't understand, until today, what was actually happening.

A fighter trained in a real self defense system will care less about the grabbing hand. IN fact - please grab my clothes - you just took one of your striking tools out of the fight. Not to mention that a truly trained fighter is going to be shooting his own strike into a viable target, simultaneously as the grabbing hand attempts to grab. BUT - PRIOR to all that - a truly trained fighter isn't going to allow an attacker to be close enough to grab, while any talking or threatening is going on. If he's obviously hostile I will move to keep out of his reach, or if there is no place to move - strike as soon as he moves into my reach.

Used to love fighting from middle school till my mid 20s. I can say without a doubt untrained fighters are nowhere near the threat of a trained fighters unless they use a weapon or jump you. I've trained since I was a kid and still do to this day, one thing I know is that anyone can land a lucky punch. If your aware of your surroundings and confident you won't have other jumping in take it to the ground where you can control your opponent. As a life long wrestler I've never lost a fight that's gone to the ground, lost a decent number standing up. Idk just my opinion though I guess, I always size it up by throwing a fake looping right that's out of range to see what they do. If they lean back on their heels I know I've already won, if they push back on the balls of their feet amd mainting their stance and balance I know I'm in for a real fight.

He reached out and grabbed my neck with his hand (he was at the maximum reach of his arm and his body was off balance so I wasn't worried), and he expected me to panic but I just looked at him and in that moment he knew that I was definitely not the type to fall over for basic level street fighting.

The scariest thing to a street fighter is a calm opponent. An opponent who looks nervous or afraid is who street fighters want to fight because it gives them an advantage. But a calm opponent in the face of aggressive intimidation will make a street fighter give things a second thought. I am able to fight if I have to, but my calm demeanor usually stopped an attack before it started.

Great video, spot on. Also, many dirt bags / "street fighters" (basically criminals with no discipline, drunk people who lack self control, sketchballs, druggies, etc) typically don't have the same rush of uncomfortable fear and adrenaline that most of us would if we encountered random people trying to fight us in public. While adrenaline is certainly involved for most anyone amped up for a fight, they don't feel the same deterring wave of common sense that average or even trained fighters would. Most of us are rightly worried about risk: not wearing a mouth guard, concrete concussions, throws, or medical bills for even small things normally controlled for in a sport fight. We're worried about (even if we win) getting caught with even one lucky punch and having to explain a black eye to bosses, employees, coworkers, or that important meeting tomorrow. We're thinking about our jobs, our police record 🚓🚨, our health insurance, kids, wife, a date or a social event were heading to, or were just not in the mood for random violence. Whereas the street bum ONLY wants to fight. They're less scared not because they're braver or more skilled or more badass, but because they're stupider. Dumber in their street fighting criminal mindset or drunken state, where risk of these sorts doesn't matter to them, or they have nothing to lose by the fight like we do. Hence, if you feel that unpleasant sensation of deterring discomfort and a desire to avoid the fight rather than "stand your ground" or "defend your honor" (a mostly antiquated concept borne of evolutionary instincts among small bands of people where respect and social standing often meant life or death), don't feel inadequate; it's a sign you're a healthy, normal human being. And the only way to feel more comfortable with these unpleasant encounters is either to be a bum and get in a bunch of trashy fights (not recommended), or train functional combat skills..most don't, and that's not a slight on them at all. That freezing up tunnel vision, fight or flight response is perfectly normal. It's ingrained evolutionary hardwiring, NOT a sign of character deficiency or a lack of courage. Movies have wrongly conditioned us to think we should face such encounters without these adrenaline responses, misleading millions into a false sense of inadequacy. It's normal to want to avoid these things The street bum isn't braver than you, they're just dumber.

Yeah the rules kind of fly out the window when you like the fighting. When you can turn it all off and keep coming in like a machine people start to worry. The winning and losing becomes not important when the goal becomes destruction. Some people can just have a fight mechanic like that from some way they grew up. You get anxiety before the fight but when it starts suddenly you can click something in your head and you just don't care what happens to you. Everything gets calm and sinister. Your eyes widen like a hawk on it's prey. A desperation takes over and you feel you will do anything to keep following them to hit the target, grab them and swing them like a pit bull thrashing something with it's jaws. You'll walk right into them to trip them. You'll run into them to knock them down. You'll tie them up and strike the throat, eyes and chest beating them until they stop moving. You'll want to beat them more. That probably sums up the animal mentality of fighting. Everyone needs to have that and also be able to control it and be able to use it on command.

Thought I'd share from the perspective of a roid rager. Way back in the day, I did steroids two times, one for 7 weeks and one for 6 weeks. I did the milder stuff (can't recall the name now), but it had a significant effect on my temperament. It wasn't just the immediate rage. I can have a hot temper at the best of times, but if things cool down right away, 5 minutes later I'm fine and no longer pissed. This is not the case when on a steroid cycle. I remember losing my temper (no eruptions, just so angry I was panting) over something stupid, and I was just as enraged 3-4 hours later as I was at the beginning. That's difficult to deal with, so I made certain to monitor my state at all times, and would seclude myself if I had a bad moment. Other effects include a feeling of invincibility. Too much confidence isn't a good thing. You have to continually operate not really trusting your emotions and impulses, or you'll do something violent and stupid. Someone who doesn't exercise this level of self-restraint can be an absolute nightmare in a fight. Their savagery is off the charts and their control is almost zero.

Thats right! Its the release of violence they seek, even if theyre too dumb to know it, or consider alternatives. If you had a few 'regular' fights (school, playground stuff) you learn that most fights, even if you lose, dont really hurt too bad after a few minutes. Your face might feel hot, but generally youre ok. Ive always had a 'smart mouth,' and have encountered guys who, because they cant think of a 'come back,' will get all flustered and want to fight. The ones that actually scare me are the ones who i could tell were not only REALLY mad, but look like theyre too stupid to feel pain!

This video was pretty accurate. I had a rough childhood, got bullied in school for being quiet. When I was 13, maybe the extra testosterone, something triggered and I became a rage monster. Fighting was fun, because my opponents were never 'dad' sized. Some of the rules I lived by were to hit first, hit hard, don't stop, take it to a higher level than the other person wants to be (increase viciousness - often drastically). But to give myself the advantage, because I've always been fairly trim, I would condition my body. Punch trees and concrete to harden the knuckles, headbutt brick walls and lightposts to harden my head. This honestly made more difference than anything else. Eventually, I got a couple of dogs. That unconditional love broke me free from my chains. I still use those rules when I fight, but less viciousness, and only in self defense when talking or leaving failed. Think it's been two years already since my last altercation.

Any fight I've ever seen (or experienced myself when I was younger) always happened suddenly, and both people would just start flailing away wildly- not at all like you see in movies, TV shows, or even professional MMA matches, etc., where both opponents are in control and thinking quickly, but carefully. Best to try to avoid fighting altogether, as the true cowards will use weapons, which you may not see at first.

My biggest advantage was being a southpaw with a powerful jab. I would step in on their lead foot and put some weight behind my right hand. And when getting jumped it's just situational awareness. Don't let people behind you and when you turn, dip down and come up attacking. I've been jumped by over 10 people and wound up chasing people down in the end. Fighting is scary and understanding that your opponent is likely terrified and being the aggressor if there isnt a way to flee the situation helps a lot

I think training martial arts is always usefull no matter what. If you dominate range, evades and basic fighting movements you will be better then alot of "street fighters". Imagine your fighting against a enraged guy that cant even hit a punch and you... as a trained fighter have way better punch acurracy. You may counter him on the first move and keep doing that

yes you are correct but even a martial artist should do his Heavy bag work 600 kicks a day 3 times a week on a heavy bag and punches on heavy beg for 12 rounds 3 times a week just to keep up stamina and create more striking power I am 61 years old been training since I was 11. Absolutely wrong brother. MMA gyms carry over to the street far more that any dojo, because they are getting all their practice full on real time. Most dojo arts are not. This is a HUGE difference when it come to street fighting. Anything is better than nothing, but those getting the experience in "real time, full on" will always dominate those not. This from a life of street fighting and 10 years bouncing rank bars...take it or leave it.

This is exactly how I learned to fight in my High School. It was a rough school and after watching a few fights and trial and error and being on the receiving end I learned the ultra aggressive hooking style works .....unless you meet someone very skilled. Even then if you land a big hook they can easily be buzzed .

Always be prepared for anything and everything in a street fight. Me personally I've grabbed someone's package in a street fight and squeezed/yanked as hard as I could. Fight ended after that. I know that sounds brutal but you don't know your opponents objective. My objective is to end it and move on without being hurt. As a former boxer I know it sounds cheap but I'm not getting my eyes gouged out or my ears popped or whatever that fool wants to do to me.
