Wrong title Why Vegans Should Eat More..WHOLE FOODS (Plant-Based is a given)

Humans are frugivores and not omnivores! This is called species-specific diet. It is the most important thing to understand for humanity right now. Cooking destroys the food and most nutrients in it. This should be common knowledge by now. But the masses are still very ignorant and they are constantly distracted by nonsense. It is the reason, why we still live in the dark ages. To have paradise on Earth, humanity must adopt the species-specific diet. For more details: Douglas Graham, John Rose and Loren Lockman

Comparing vegetarian and vegan with whole food plant based is not like for like, because vegetarian includes eggs which, you just said yourself, are the worst health-wise. For a fair comparison it should be vegan versus whole-food vegan.

Eggs have several benefits you just have to eat them in moderation : Protein: Eggs are a good source of protein, which is essential for building and repairing tissues. One large egg contains about 6 grams of protein. Vitamins: Eggs are a good source of vitamins, including vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin B12. These vitamins are important for vision, bone health, immune function, and energy production. Minerals: Eggs are a good source of minerals, including iron, zinc, and selenium. These minerals are important for blood health, wound healing, and thyroid function. Eye health: Eggs are a good source of lutein and zeaxanthin, which are antioxidants that can protect the eyes from damage. Brain health: Eggs are a good source of choline, which is important for brain development and function.

I used to think vegetarians and vegans were weirdos. Really. I just didn't understand what they were all about. But my wife and I are big-time gardeners and grow all our own fruits and vegetables, so we somehow, slowly, moved away from eating much meat. Now, meat is just an occasional thing. The good news: we feel better, our doctor is very impressed with our health and we take no pharmaceutical drugs of any kind. I don't know a single person my age (mid sixties) who isn't taking three, four, five drugs every day for their maladies.

I’m 62 and vegan for 7 years. I’m too old to be eating junk food . But I can understand that a lot of younger people who are vegan will probably be eating vegan junk food. But I look at it as the lesser of 2 evils. Vegan junk food is not the best for health but it will eliminate death from clogged arteries from animal fat and protein built up in the arteries over time. At least those who are eating vegan junk food aren’t harming animals. Also, whatever health problems emerge from eating vegan junk food, these problems are more easily corrected than having to have bypass, stents, etc. due to arteriosclerosis. I was a caregiver for 17 years to my elderly parents and grandmother all of whom suffered strokes and congestive heart failure. Clogged arteries are no joke.

The enjoyment they get from eating their favorite foods outweighs the negatives of CVD and all-cause-mortality to them. It's a bit terrifying that people are willing to cling so hard to something that is harming them. The joke is on them, I guess. The closest I get to processed vegan foods is probably HU dark chocolate hazelnut bars, cause they do add unrefined coconut sugar, its only 14g per bar so its not that bad, when I eat them it doesnt make me fall asleep, so its obviously not spiking insulin, in the past when I ate red meat, dairy, and eggs, pasture raised, grass finished whatever you need to know.... I noticed some common trends, red meat was spiking insulin and making me take a nap after eating it no matter how grass finished it was, also that kinda barky cough you get after eating red meat, I get that too, ALL dairy, no matter how pure, gives me the sniffles unless its a very small amount like in coffee, which makes sense, as for pasture raised organic eggs, I actually dont notice much, but when I eat anything less than pasture raised eggs it definitely feels bad, like I cant run as far or exercise for as long, endurance issues, but as I said, pasture raised organic eggs, I wish more research can be done, cause I eat them so rarely out of fear of them still being eggs, like an egg is an egg right? but I s2g as a skinny person whos been underweight their whole life, pasture raised eggs were helping me gain weight without increasing my body fat percentage, idk how or why but thats been my personal experience like theres something about pasture raised eggs that my body just agrees with, WHY CANT MORE RESEARCH BE DONE IM TIRED OF NOT KNOWING THE FULL TRUTH, imo eggs arent cruel and when people talk about survival many years ago before we had the tools to hunt animals during famines, tubers/starches/berries/leafy greens ABSOLUTELY yes, but honestly, eggs are something you would find and eat in nature as well, why cant somebody just do the study so I can know for sure.... The saturated fat and sodium for starters. The point of WFPB is to get all of what nature puts in the plant. Just as isolating one component from a fruit leaves thousands behind, and it's likely the synergy of all the components together that promotes health. That's part of the reason most supplements are unhelpful at best. Search his channel for 'processed' and you'll get videos to get you started. The books cover it nicely.
@11235Aodh
@11235Aodh Год назад
You want to avoid the ultra processed crap that has both high sugar and high fat. When you look around in nature, no natural food has both these (maybe an outlier exists like durian fruit or something non common). Normal processing isn't the same as industry processing, you can cut and dry and freeze your strawberries without a problem, but when you take apart the molecular structure and isolate compounds and put those in other things, you potentially create a problem too. Dr. Peter Rogers has a lot of videos on ultra processing and also other toxins we need to be mindful off.

If vegans really want to reduce animal cruelty, rather than just trying to shame people, they should set an example by proving that veganism is super healthy. That means, not just being vegan, but being whole food vegan. Instead off picking on others, they should pick on themselves. Then the statistics would speak for themselves. Even if people don’t really care about animals or the planet, most people do care about their own health, and the health of their children.

@@11235Aodh Yes, of course; there will always be some that don’t look after themselves, and that’s their lookout. But then they shouldn’t criticise omnivores. Unless epidemiological studies can show a significant difference (in the range of 30% change or greater), and that this change is repeatable with subsequent studies on different groups of people, they aren't worth the paper they are written on. What about the research showing plant sterols imitate cholesterol (which is why they reduce it) but don't carry out the same function in the body which can actually cause a heart attack? LDL cholesterol seals up blood clots very effectively. If plant sterols get involved that cap goes from being strong to guaranteeing its going to fail, causing cardiac arrest.
