According to my understanding which I did learn from teenage years from books, lecture and in mosque that quran was reveal gradually because god wants to teach islam to prophet and his companion in the real situation of life because education is not sitting in class, take notes, memorise and give test. So education of religion which covers vast areas and questions of life must be taught on the job and in real situation & sometimes in difficult situations. We learn things on the job more than in class. And that is the reason we haven't seen muslims better than prophet and his companion. That is the reason, the true & real sufis (I am not talking about biddati but true Sufis) take bait and ask him to tell everything about his life, even personal. Then sufi led the person of straight path and as the seeker traverse the path and as he comes with real situation then he go to sufi and that sufi through his wisdom give better advices and orders to follow. Islam can only be learn in real situation through correct mentors and coach in real life situations. Islam can never be learn only by lectures which is the addiction of ummah.

How do adults believe a god sent an angel to a man in cave, giving intructions how to worship said god or else you burn for eternity, ridiculous

Please do a review of gospal of thomas as christian estableshment suggest it either fake, agnostic gospal or otherwise unauthantic whereas some believe it has the true inspiration of the word of God as revealed to all prophets.

The Quran as a book was written 150 years after profit Muhmmed. There is no Quran that dates back to him, so we don't even know what he really said. Some words change meaning in 150 years, like we see now. Also using memory to pass the Quran down for 150 years would changes due to speech impediments, accents, slang, rumors, and more. It would be like passing down Abe Lincoln speeches till now which would be completely different by now

It is clear that Muhammad invented ayah when he needed them. When he got in trouble for stealing his adopted son's wife, then he miraculously got a new revelation just-in-time to exonerate him.
