I came here in Denver, CO in 2000 working as a nurse. I meet my husband here and get married. It's no longer the same as it used to be 24 yrs ago. Anyways, I send my 2 daughters to study at my alma matter school Silliman University. I am from Dumaguete and we build our retirement house in Bacong. Could not wait to retire and settle back in my hometown.
I live here in PH for the past 32.5 years. I am from Germany. Going back there would be like capital punishment for me, despite the devastating storm we had last week here in Batangas. We got away here with minor issues, thanks God. Storms and brown-outs only last a couple of hours or days, but the toxic conditions over there are present 24\7
I agree with John I am in LA. Born here and been here as my home base all my life and I’m in my 60’s now. My fiancé and daughter are in Clark area and when I return we are going to Baguio and also to Dumaguete and the surrounding areas. The USA has went downhill tremendously in the last four years. What has been done to this country is devastating. I don’t want to be in California anymore. I’m here taking care of my elderly father who is bedridden. Once he is gone I will sell my house and several vehicles. I’m relocating my home base to Kansas and going back to ph 6 months at a time to retain my medical insurance here.
I love to see you dancing with Bryson, its just a beautiful bond. I too will soon be flying back to the Philippines to live my simple life again....seems John has adapted to the Philippines lifestyle and is missing his home and family.
I'm happy for you on deciding to remain in the Philippines. I strongly believe you're making the correct decision. My girlfriend (Filipina) and I live here in the U.S., both retired recently. If it wasn't for a few things for us, I would love to move to the Philippines. We visited in Jan/Feb this year and planning to go again in Jan/Feb 2025. We really enjoy spending time there. Keeping your children's education a priority while there, they will be just fine.
Hi Marie’s you really are an amazing authentic person wish you were my Neighbour next door so I could help you eat the desserts 🍮 and beautiful food 😊thank you so much for sharing a little bit of your life journey with us ‘ I’d like a video of beauty care particularly lotions and portions you would use and perhaps share your go to places for your lovely summer dresses etc thank you 🌻🕊️
Hi there. You have a very nice sitting room lounge set. May I now where you purched it from? Tks. Today we met a new friend here in Pandan Catanduanes and he’s from South Africa Durban. He says he’s better retired here in Catanduanes. Tks for sharing. 😊
John is right, “ this” America is not the America I grew up in . For the first time I a naturalized Polish -American citizen am afraid. No one should feel that fear. If I could get out of SEMO I would. Unfortunately at age 78 my options are limited . The shift to angry, greedy rude and cruel people is frightening to say the least. May your return to the Philippines be safe and peaceful. Keep homeschooling the kids, teach them to think for themselves and believe in the goodness of people. That’s the best legacy gift you can give them . That is not being taught here anymore. And that is part of the problem. America is losing its “ humanity “ towards others. Just stay safe, love your family and enjoy a beautiful peaceful life where you are .
Trump is the cause of this. There has always been an undertone of terrible, disgusting, racist people in America, trump gave them permission to come out of the woodwork.
John is not alone. We citizens all feel uncomfortable and don’t recognize our America. For the Global world we need new string presidential leadership. We shall see!! Nice cooking ideas!!
I can tell you as an Australian, if trump is reelected the majority of rest of the world would be dumbfounded. He won’t improve things, and USA will loose it’s democracy. People who support trump are idiots or just lost their minds.
Some American prices are and should be 10 times more than in the Philippines----as our wages are about 10 times higher. I just saw 2 videos on why so many foreigners are leaving the Philippines in the past year or so. You would know why---I'm sure. My wife is from Dumaguete----and 5 of her siblings came to the US for 20 years or more. But 2 in retirement moved back home----as their wages will go farther. Ph. is known to be friendly. But my wife's daughter and her husband visited us in Florida for a month----and said the US is much friendlier than both Dubai and the Philippines. I think for this 75 year old-----people are friendlier than when I was younger---and not sure why. Maybe because I'm in Florida now?
If you think about it; price increases on goods and services equates to zero benefits to wage increases. It just becomes a wash. So , inflation simply devours wages. Not a good system in my opinion.
@@dontcomply4004 True. It always balances out---you are right. Costs go up---then wages go up. Always been that way. You seldom get ahead----and don't get very behind.
