They have taken over Florida in my lifetime. Growing up we had Carolina (green) Anole everywhere. Then, by the time I was a teenager in Southern Florida, there were very few greens. Now, as an adult, I catch Green Anoles and let them live on my porch for refuge from the Brown Anoles. I still have to go out two or three times a week and leave water in strategically placed water bottle caps. I also sometimes purchase small crickets for them to eat. But they find food on their own as they all look to be thriving beyond what I give them. I have gotten them to the point where they are not skittish around humans whatsoever. I probably started with 10-12 of them and now have upwards of 30. So the ones that stay are procreating. I also rid my porch of any intrusion by the Brown Anoles.

Right, in the gardens or communities I always see browns. It’s rare to see a green one. If I see about 20 a day, 1 or 2 are green and I almost always subconsciously stare at them for a few seconds…

I have brown and green. I accidentally brought a green anole in when I brought my plants in for the winter I have been trying to catch it to release it back outside. My porch always is full of both as it has many plants my yard is full of plant life I live in North Carolina

These things are invasive where I live and eat the native geckos. I therefore shoot the anoles with my airsoft gun 🤙🏼
