Great presets and captures guys, thank you! Whenever a market becomes available, I will buy your packs. Please, keep publishing QC content. My experience with the QC so far has been great. Very easy to tweak on the device, which is great when playing live and rehearsing. Compact, and plenty of foot switches. I use my drives and compressor into it, also using the loops.
I use it, I love it, and it's keeping me super inspired! Thank you guys for (at a time when there seems to be a bunch of hate about the QC after the recent 2.0.0 update) continuing to celebrate this awesome piece of gear!
Everyone says there are minor differences between different modellers, but for me, the QC sounds so rich and authentic. I love my helix LT, but I think QC has done something very well here.
Using it and loving it. The capture tech and UI are so good. Stereo amp captures and captures of my favorite ODs all in a tiny footprint along with GREAT sounding effects are some of the highlights for me. Best of all, it FEELS amazing to play. Can’t wait to check out more of the WT content as it comes available. Keep up the great work, fellas💪🏼
I absolutely LOVE the Quad Cortex!!! I was searching for an all in one until and this was everything I wanted and more. It allows me to use my actual amp in any setting, anywhere. Plus the size/weight is perfect. I’m currently itinerating to return to Japan as a missionary, so these features were very important to me since you need to walk and carry your stuff everywhere.
Loving the quad cortex!!! It took me a while to get used to its format and I did have some concerns at first about the number of amps effects etc. Having been a committed Helix user for 6 years it was a leap of faith for me to switch to the quad cortex. Having it for about a month I have to say I'm very impressed and what stands out to me with the QC is the FEEL!
Have the Kemper, just sold the Helix and recently bought the QC. That's exactly what I mostly like about it above the aforementioned. The feel is very a "organic" response compared to Kemper. Helix I just didn't get on with, too hard to build a true amp sound with it. Kemper is great, but so clumsy in editing on the fly. Looking forward to updates, especially having Archetype plugins one day on it.
I love my Quad Cortex! I put it on a smaller pedalboard with just an expression pedal and a Wah pedal. Very convenient now. I usually have two amps and two speaker cabinets running- Vox and Friedman, etc.
Ha ha, Marshall The Guv'nor! My first drive pedal purchased in 1988. Still got it! Love my QC. I got my QC as a pre-order and received it the moment they first arrived retail in the UK. Enjoyed your Bassman capture very much, thank you, and regularly use variants of your presets at church. Really looking forward to when you will be able to release more QC content in a marketplace type environment. Big thank you for all your channels content. Blessings.
Legends! Thanks for the preset & captures, can't wait to try it! I've had the QC since launch and still absolutely loving it. While personally I don't feel like there is anything I'm missing, I'm very keen for CorOS 2.0. Especially for the file mgt side of things. This thing just keeps getting better!
I love my QC. I use it as my pedals for modulation into my amps effects loop and also use it as a standalone device with a Seymour Duncan poweramp. Sold the FM9 and AxeFx 3.
As someone who doesn’t own the QC, what Bradford said about a unit speaking to his way of doing things really made an impression on me, and it’s why I’m super glad I have an FM9 because it speaks my language. The fact that all these units have different workflows and approaches makes us each better players and tone sculptors. The QC samples here sound amazing, though!
I've been playing Lead Electric at my church now for 3 years. Started off with a Helix LT, and like many others, loved the tone but wasn't crazy about the size of the unit. I've used Worship Tutorials patches for the past 2 years and have never been let down by how good they sound. I switched over about 3 months ago to a QC and have loved every minute of using it. I understand why there haven't been as many QC patches released since the QC came out. Would love to see some sort of way we could compensate the channel for the release of more QC patches :)
Bought my QC because another switch on my Kemper Stage went out. The QC is so good that I still haven't even opened the box my Kemper shipped back in a month ago lol
Former Kemper stage user here. I’ve been using the QC for about a year and really enjoy it. Just picked up a FM9 turbo and it’s the shiny new toy. Also have the UA Ruby/Dream on a board with pedals. For me, nothing beats a real amp…BUT I hate carrying them. FM9 editor is sweet but nothing beats the portability of the QC for an all in one. Like you guys have said, the difference is so small (especially in a mix), it kind of doesn’t matter. You can’t go wrong. They all sound great. It’s an amazing time to be alive!
I had the QC and then switched to pedals, including the UA Dream and Woodrow. How to you feel the QC holds up to the UA amp models? I kind of miss the all in one of the QC, but i'm afraid the models wont be as realistic as the UA pedals...
@@taylormesa I run the ruby and dream through a diso+ and looooove pedals. I use a RJM switcher to manage everything on my main pedalboard. For me, I get the closest to “real amp” feel with the UA pedals but I end up taking the QC, or the FM9 more recently, for the sake of real grab and go portability for weekends. In the mix…I can dial all of them in to sound pretty much the same. There’s definitely some redundancy. I find that each platform does something just a little better than the other when I’m messing with it but you’re in splitting hairs territory. Pluses and minuses for each. They all sound so good! You can’t go wrong. You just have to figure out what’s more important to you. For me, my back makes a lot of my choices now. My tube amps only get attention when I’m being nostalgic but I’ll never let them go 😀
Would you mind giving me your thoughts on which of the three Kemper Stage, FM9 or QC has the best "feel" and which one you felt you played the most? I ask because I have one large board with od pedals/UA amp pedals/HX Stomp XL and another board with fuzz/od pedals/NUX MG-30/Meris LVX... Honestly, i find myself playing the NUX MG-30 board more since I just use the Chop tones presets and it's pretty much plug and play. But, the UA pedal amp board sounds better to me but play it less...I'm looking for an all in one solution that makes me play more instead of tweaking and messing around.
@@eanroad With "feel" being pretty subjective, I'll say for me, the FM9 is the closest to my real amps followed by the QC and finally the Kemper Stage. Sound wise, they can all get really close to the real thing. I moved on from my Kemper because it had some weird artifact stuff going on in the mid and upper frequencies that I had to EQ out. I will say that the UA pedals "feel" slightly better than all three but you trade the portability of an all-in-one and you're also locked into those specific amp models. The FM9 and QC are really close. There are things I like about each unit. At this point, if I had to choose just one, I'd probably go with the FM9 but I would miss my QC.
Been using the QC as my primary all-in-one for about a year now after using Helix and HX Stomp for a few years and I still am super happy with it. The launch was definitely on the rocky side and I definitely think the marketing was problematic especially, but the sounds have spoken for themselves for me and I haven't looked back. I've been using the Tyler HM30 captures as the heart of my presets for a couple months now, and definitely am looking foward to getting hands on more of y'all's captures with the marketplace launch soonTM!
My favorite thing about the cortex is it’s size. I can still keep other pedals that I love on my board with the cortex. The helix floor was great and there’s things I definitely miss, but the size alone is worth the trade off to me. Other huge features to me are things like wi-fi for sharing and downloading presets, interface, and capture
I'm happy with my QC. I just wish they added a good reverse delay. I'm not aasking for any weird, rare sound, just add more variety to what they already have and that'd be it. All the rest is just wonderful. Great interface, great captures and community, so simple to use and program. I love all the rest, just need a few more effects to be perfect to me.
Just ordered my quad cortex yesterday from sweetwater! Arriving tomorrow. Used prices are getting better too. I think QC will really take over now that it is becoming more accessible
Nice vid, guys! I’ve been using the QC as my main rig for several months now… mostly because it can basically act as a dual stereo rig. I loved my Kemper until I found out I can run 4 amps at the same time! Definitely overkill, but just makes it sound that much fuller!
@Liberals Hate kcalB People 🏳️🌈⃠ haha actually, it’s not bad. Just sounds really wide… it have 2 amps on L and R, and a lead tone in the center. The 4th amp basically swaps out the C amp for a louder one
good stuff, keep it up! It'd be great if you did more secular stuff too: I really enjoyed Brian's demo of Hysteria, even if it wasn't on the QC, it sounded really good!!! Thanks again!
I’m loving my QC! In a world where everything sounds good, I think the QC has the best form factor. I can fly with it by itself or put it on a small rig with other pedals. I also understand why people are frustrated because there is no editor but my goal is to never need to plug my laptop in. With the router and screen on board, I really don’t see a need for an editor but to each their own! I am looking forward to better preset management, hybrid mode, etc. in new updates. 😊
It’s just the setting to presets thats tedious on the unit. I’d do most programming in an editor but making changes in the unit isn’t bad at all. Quite nice actually!
Hi Guys, I am a QC owner and I appreciate the things you have shared. I am a member of the Neural Forum. I had brought up the idea of a Market Place the other day on the forum and people were saying that Neural never said there would be one. Do you guys have any info on that? IF there is one coming I don't understand why they are delaying so long. I have bought presets from you for my PodGo and now as a QC owner I am happy to buy presets for my QC from you. The work you put into things really is worthy of being paid for. Okay, thanks for listening and keep up the great work you do.
I love the QC, and prefer it over the Kemper, but it’s still way out of my price range. I got a GT1000 core for only $600 new, so even though it doesn’t do captures, it is filling the multi-effects void for me until I can afford a QC.
Looking to get the QC soon.. Have the Helix LT now mounted on a pedal train PRO. (a line conditioner, wireless and EXP pedal. as well). looking for a smaller footprint rig. Been watching vids for about a month now.. Play in local band as well as a church group. BTW, your presets made for songs are dead on! Had a worship group show this last month and they were awesome for the songs i downloaded! Thanks!
QC is cool, I might pick one up again. But now that IK Multimedia Tonex is available on iOS and can be easily be incorporated into a pedalboard using an audio interface pedal, it would be nice to see some content targeting that as well.
Just did some setup / teardown for a Colton Dixon concert and saw his guitarist using the Quad Cortex. I love the tone, but for $1850 I love my Pod Go Wireless a lot better XD
I’d like to see more presence available on the QC cabs .. I love my unit but compared to the UA or two notes the cab models ..side by side QC can sound a bit dull once the speaker cab blocks are engaged .
This thing hardly weighs more than an iPad. Adding an expression pedal and putting it on a board still clocks in way lighter and considerably smaller. But to each their own.
I'm sticking with Helix Floor for it's visual workflow. QC looks and sounds great! Are the QC onboard effects as complex and controllable as Helix? Or furthermore, Fractal?
Can you please do a review of the Fender Mustang GTX100 for worship music? And/Or Boss Katana 100 Mk2? For an amp + modeling package in the $500 range, I feel like the value is unbeatable.
The unit does not (as far as I can tell or read) let you install any plugins you may have purchased. Was wondering if the unit can direct connect to a Bose PA system. Trying to eliminate taking a half dozen pedals and two different kinds of amps on a gig. Also-there's a looper on this unit? How many bars can you loop? Chan you chain your "loops" into a single song?
Isn’t the point of having a QC is that it takes the place of having a pedal board? Why would you plug a pedal board into it if you could build a patch in the QC? Just wondering, thinking about getting a QC don’t beat me up just asking a question for the knowledge.
QC works great as an all in one - very, very good actually. But we love pedals, too. And we think QC currently is the best at emulating the tone and actual response of real amps, so it works exceptionally well as a stereo amp solution with a board. At the end of the day it's about playing what makes you happy. And sometimes pedals are what makes us happy.
@@worshiptutorials gotcha, ya bro I’m trying to figure all this stuff out. There’s so much gear out now it’s hard to catch up if your a weekend warrior. It would be cool to see a video on how to hook the QC to a amp or whatever your using for sound. Anyways love your channel always good stuff! Matt
It really depends on the pickups. I’d start with the SC version and tweak it to fit the bridge pickup, but I always make sure it’s not too bright on the neck position.
Do you guys think it’d be viable switching over from a Kemper? I like the morph capabilities and the feel of the profiles you have but I like the portability of the QC
You can kinda do the same thing by setting one scene to be the same as another and then making adjustments for just that scene. If that makes sense? You can treat it like morph. You also have 8 scenes here and Kemper only has 5 so depending on how you do things it could work for you.
Sold mine months ago and never looked back. Tired of their unkept promises like PC editor, using your Neural plugins on the QC etc... and 1 1/2 years later neither has yet to arrive. Isn't it interesting that in that same timeframe they're still able to keep cranking out new plugins though!
The QC is less than half the price of many pro-level tube amp heads. It’s expensive but it’s not that bad when you think about how many expensive amps it models/captures really well
We are always debating about sound quality which is indeed an important aspect of those machines. But I think we are not taking into consideration that a pedalboard like Helix which is older than QC and probably a little less "modern sounding" (in terms of technology) is far more usable live. Far more complete in terms is switches, expression pedal, external loops, inputs and outputs. Maybe that's not a selling point for everyone but we shouldn't base all our beliefs in terms of power or Dsp limit. I had the Axe fx3 for 2 times and I end up by selling it 2 times. It's more powerful than the QC but it's models sound too digital, too precise too cold under the fingers. I use the Helix since 2017 and update after update Line 6 has showed to give constantly a new life to this machine. Obviously some amp sounds good whether others are less precise but to me as a live musician the Helix is unbeatable for its versatility. The scribble strip are amazing and helps a lot in a dark stage. The QC, for now, it's a good exercise but not mature enough to break the market. Neural should launch a big brother with more switches, screens over the switches and an expression pedal. This way the QC would be, probably, the best outhere. For now even at the cost of tiny less quality the Helix is the best of all modelers for live playing.
Are you new here? ☺️ we love Helix. We did a video talking about everything you just said for each unit we cover. All that aside tho, I can say I like the QC 😂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-46IviHK30yI.html
