I had a wolfdog for 15 years. I was having trouble walking so I had surgery and was recovering. I would go out and talk to her, Cocoa, she was getting older and having trouble herself. I knew it was hard for her. Just six months later she passed. She wanted me to be alright. I miss her so much.❤

I once had the honour of looking a wolf in the eyes. Most humbling experience ever, yet at the same I never felt so warm inside. They really are something special.
A parent has to be an example of what they teach their children. Otherwise the children will know that their parents are hypocrites and won't listen to them. I was taught as a child to help those when they got down and couldn't do for themselves. My grandparents in parents actually live that life. When I became an adult I was a primary caregiver for four family members.

Dogs sleep w female relatives. Worst case- -when I was small we had horrible neighbors who kept a male puppy who had many litters w his mother till it finally killed her!
Wolves don't get the respect they deserve. I had a pet wolf as a child. Totally better than a dog! If I see someone w a wolf -they come to me for hugs & pets. I'd trust a wolf before a dog any day!

Yes. For them. For a lot of people though... there was no warmth in their house, except the heat of tears or rage, or the blood of being battered. Wolves might have an altercation once or twice, but, unlike wolves, human parents, can and in a lot of cases, are, abusive. Mentally or physically.
Many human babies and children do not get the love, nurturing and guidance wolves do as cubs…………. Healthy parents are key and that is the issue……… Luckily these skills can be learned and quality psychotherapy is in fact an adult and informed version of being parented you learn who you are and to trust and are given the space to talk about what you need to? Courage and therapy work I ‘know’ because I have walked this path!? Years ago I learnt something wonderful about wolves & I love it! When they're travelling the alpha dog isn't at the front. At the front are the "soldiers", ie the healthy, protective warriors. Then there's the old, frail, young wolves/cubs, females etc. Last is the alpha wolf who protects them all by being behind the whole pack, like "having their backs". It really impressed me 😊
No such thing as frail old wolves with alpa, because alpha wolves are the oldest. Alpha wolves are the parents of the group and the children are the members.
Some of those soldiers ARE the females. Female wolves are not particularly protected or in need of protection. That's absurd human Victorian nonsense. Wolves dont use gender stereotypes derived from relatively recent post-neolithic human cultures. The "alpha" is concept based on primates and even then it means almost the opposite of what most ppl think (the alpha male baboon is the one who gets along with everyone and gives out the most comfort/pats/ hugs). It doesn't really fit wolves. A wolf pack is a literal family. Their sex is purely reproductive and the reason there is no promiscuity is only 1 male and 1 female breed in a pack. The "alphas" are the breeding couple; they are equals though if the female is pregnant she becomes the lead decision maker/"alpha" about where to go etc (presumably because she is sensing where will be good to have pups). The soldiers are their older children, then there are pups. Furthermore wolves do NOT commit suicide. What a creepy and bizarre video and comment.
@@smartestguy4526Asians are not the only ones who take care of their parents. African Americans do to. most African-American families who are intact will take care of their parents until death. This is not something I have witness personally but this is something I know. Most black parents want to stay as independent as possible as long as they can. They pretty much fight being taken care of until they are forced through theirdisability and old age.

I had 27 full blooded wolves and learned so much from them. Wolves can detect earthquakes from 500 miles away. I have a whole neighborhood of witnesses. At first they didn’t like the idea of wolves living close by until the earthquake in alpine Texas hit and my wolves wouldn’t stop howling. I got home and I was told how they warned everyone. Now no one says anything bad about them.

For all you who might want to know more, back in the day when the environmental movement was just getting started, a Canadian named Farley Mowat had occasion to observe and live with wolves in the Canadian arctic for many months. He wrote a wonderful book about his experience called “Never Cry Wolf.” I hope it is still available. Highly recommended.
skon: Thrift books may have a copy. I pick up a lot of older books there. My favorite by him is the The Dog Who Wouldn't Be. The Canadian gov was looking for excuses to wipe out wolves to 'save the deer!' The study was ignored and all they did was to save the rodents who wiped out a lot of deer feed.

Exactly. We choose in al walk of life being lead by idiots. Could be a parent, a boss, the government, the WHO, the husband, the spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend, a friend. Wolves are more intelligent than we are. Survival is very though. The wellbeing, safty for everyone is though. The alpha wife and alpha husband wolfe NEED to be choosen wisely, so the whole pack benefits from being there for them and the pack. You are sooo right. I feel shame as a human often times. I know why.

Yes I have experienced this twice. There are dogs which you still take care of and appreciate for whatever good traits and personality tbey bring and tban there are those who choose you and your bond is so strong it’s like freaking telepathy . It’s called a heart dog when tbe others are well, dogs and it’s your child and not your pet. And when you can’t physically see tbem touch tbem smell their fur anymore it’s tbe most gosh awful horrid grief .

I use to play with a Wolf, Malamute cross, she weighed 178 pounds and and was so cautious and gentle when we wrestled around....She was killed by the neighbor over fear. I miss her,her name was Keisha...she belonged to my brother...

Most people used to live by these standards. Some still do. The problem is that people want leniency and uncontrolled freedom at the same time. We as a species are too selfish to do the right thing. All living things have a structure to survive by, humans are the only ones who choose to do the opposite.
@@90ejb We human beings are superior to beasts. We have the mind structure to build on equation to other species. The other way around do not. For example, you can give care to all living things. The beasts cannot. Have you ever seen an animal take a rhizome of a rose plant and supplant it? Alligators for example will chow down their feed and not season it up. That's why we humans are not species. We have abilities which beasts do not have. They are limited.
