He certainly raises the right questions. As an American, I would say that he has the wrong answer (government). But, certainly we should all be aware that globalization and offshoring are a tremendous catastrophic failure. The answer is to re-shore as close as possible to the consumer. Eat local, eat in-season, and demand that your food nutrition be more transparent. What is the micronutrient content of THIS vegetable and THIS cut of meat; not some outdated statistical data from 100 years ago. Food today, particularly factory farmed food that is picked weeks before it is ripe or meat that is grain fed rather than pasture raised has nowhere near the listed nutrition. The answer must be to grow local, grow ethical, and get to know your farmer just as you do your doctor. If more people knew and chose their farmer, they would spend less time with their doctors.
