I was always confused with how many weapons were just absent from earlier zombies. The semi auto sniper in BO1 with high damage wasn't and the kiparis smg.
The Enfield, M60 as well as a few others. BO2 did the same thing, the DLC maps introduced some that were missing but there were still a couple guns that never made it. BO3 only had the XR2, Razorback, Blackcell and P06, though the Razorback made it in to Zetsubou No Shima.
The gun was finished but the statistics are either due to porting from multiplayer or due to console limitations (possibly). The gun is still somewhat impressive but the flamethrower ammo confuses me with its amount.
The flame throwers work by showing a percentage of the fuel you have in the tank (mag), starting out at 100%. The flamethrower has 8 tanks (mags) to use. After one fuel tank reaches 0 it goes to the next fuel tank starting at 100% fuel capacity again. Makes sense now?
I feel like it has something to do with the campaign, not multiplayer. I doubt a console limitation has any effect on the weapon damage, the gun just wasn't fully developed for zombies. It was probably scrapped very, very early on.
Dudeee seeing that flamethrower actually working in zombies is awesome asf, meaning all those anims are actually present, then again the nuke contains that burning zombie anim
Of course they are, you can use the flamethrower in campaign which is where the animation is from. The updated version of kino just took that anim and put it on the zombies.
My guess is that early in the production of Zombies, they needed a weapon to kind of test dismemberment against zombies and collision and all of that. So they must have used the AK-47 and never gave it proper sounds, or values. Then they remembered that the default weapon existed and casted the AK to Mob of The Dead
I feel like that would be a good enough excuse, but to be fair more than just the AK47 weren't in zombies and weren't intended on being in zombies ever, like the Mac 11, Enfield, the stoner 63, the KS-23 from campaign, makarov, the psg1, the wa2000. Those weapons could have also been a part of zombies one way or another whether being exclusive to a DLC map or in the mystery box on all maps, but they weren't. Reason why I feel it's weird is because when the moon DLC + classic World at War maps was released, the classic maps had the older weapons exclusive on the wall just like the original maps, whereas in Black Ops 3 Kino Der Toten, there aren't classic weapons from the map brought back, and the AK you get is the KN after all these years. I just wish I could hear a full explanation of how they planned out these weapons lists and which ones not to include in zombies and which to bring back in future DLC or which not to bring back. Idk, nowadays the SBMM bs made me leave, even a new good zombies experience can't bring this one back.
@@pengu6335 that is true, but just begs me to wonder why not just port it like that if they were fine with doing it like that for the classic WaW maps.
@@BudoThePaladin I also want to mention that the WaW guns also have the same exact reload glitch from WaW where you can cancel the reload, but the reload animation will still keep playing.
@@pengu6335 oo yes that is also true, not saying they were amazing ports, just saying I would have even taken a lazy port for any "classic" map being brought back instead of keeping the list limited because they want to do a proper re-animation and port for the gun.
Non Wonder weapons from the box are useless late game compared to wall weapons. The AK has good wall placements in Kino, Ascension and Moon, so it would still be king over the normal AK. Even if the AK47 was cool
Has anyone done a dive into why on WaW when you're the 4th player aka richtofen, when you fall from high height ( using noclip ) or forcefully dying, it restarts the gamemode and you start from round 1
Akimbo Shotguns Pistols & MP's, Olympia with incendiary ammo, AUG with shotgun attachment or M16 with grenade launcher attachment... Back then, I always imagined how cool it would've been if there had been a weapon with a flamethrower. Now I saw ur vid & it's a shame that they patched this weapon out.
Kinda weird that the only classic zombies map (BO3 and before) that had the AK47 is Mob of the Dead, such an iconic weapon though I guess it gives it the same status as the M416 being only in Nuketown.
They removed things like this because they would either be over powered or give too many decisions to the player and prevent them from being overwhelmed with decisions
about BO1 zombies.. at least if they would put AK-47 instead of commando or AUG in the box over Ascension... it would be a nice touch ofc then people might feel bad for having non-wonderweapon in just one map... but better than nothing
Halo 3 had it so in a mission if they wanted more things, some had to be deleted. You can even loose weapons on loading zones because they thought it would be irrelevant by then and overload the game. Lol Bo1 zombies had all the AKs....except for the AK 47 itself. The flamethrower could be taxing too especially if 4 have one. Maybe they couldn’t get a system for only one to have it.
Wasn't this a RAM issue on BO1 since it was developed back on Xbox 360 and PS3? I believe it was only 512 mb of ram they had back then. Since your on PC those hardware limitations shouldn't be a issue.
Soft pointers would remove the additional memory issues. Soft pointers allow the engine to reference an asset (without having to load it in), say the Ak and its anims + materials loading it into memory only when it is used. When no longer used, unload assets.
