Lovely video and very beautifully narrated. I do hope students see it and realize the importance of writing not just for note-taking but also a tool to explore and excavate our own thoughts.

Thank you! I do find my thoughts to be scattered and mostly I am just unable to retrieve or formulate thoughts of my own and articulate them. I believe that is because I dont write things down and I watch things mostly on double speed or at least 1.5x(would also like to hear your thoughts on this). We all should write to reflect and to formulate our thoughts.
From my experience, I find writing things down, especially while trying to formulate or understand a new idea, is very beneficial. In writing by hand, one need not be linear in the way we express our thoughts, and that is how most thoughts are...nonlinear. Only at the later stage of writing we commit to making it linear for others to read and understand. Regarding watching/listening high speed, I think what matter is the info that you consume...most of the info we watch or listen is not registered...it is momentarily.... I have tried make notes while listening to podcast. That is not the same as reading slowly and noting things down... there are so many things and ways to explore...
Extremely good topic Sir. The same kind of benefits of writing occurs in a formal way when we latex something (especially when in a research project) after the rough version of pen and paper writing is over.
I am a PhD researcher and love to take notes by hand and also like to read from my handwritten notes instead of typed letters. However the downside is that notebooks are not easily organizable. They are also not very portable and it is easy to lose them. This is the reason I am considering to buy a remarkable 2, which is an e-ink device in which you can take notes and also read pdfs and it uploads everything on cloud. The only issue is these devices are a bit expensive. I think in future better e-ink devices combined with AI would help people like me to take handwritten notes and enjoy all the benefits of typing in a computer as well.

Single photons can carry momentum + or - h, which cannot be transferred to the molecule as a whole, but to an electron in a molecule. It needs a stream of photons (beam) for mechanical effects on molecules to be observed..
@pavan-sci-history Hello sir This has confused me for months now. I enjoy writing and thinking on paper. But obsidian, notion etc are great tools to preserve all the insight that we get. Thinking on paper and then recording on an electronic medium doubles the effort what should i do about it. Because the knowledge not preserved for future reference id wasted but typing can never give same results as thinking on paper (tried it)
i understand the problem... you can always transfer your writing to an electronic medium...nowadays, you can capture your handwriting by taking a snapshot and then storing it in the app of your interest..for example, Evernote can even make your handwriting searchable.... The most important message here is to use handwriting as your starting process and then move forward..to electronic medium...both have their uses..all the best!
