I absolutely love your injection of humour in such a serious issue. We have a saying in Scotland - "If ye dinny laugh, ye'll greet" which means if you don't laugh you will cry. Thanks for raising my endorphins again.
I'm a ex JW. I did have issues as soon as I got away from the organization. I wanted revenge. But as I got older, life itself became clearer. I just stopped thinking about it. Focus undone.
This is not like a priest or televangelist who is caught philandering, Lloyd is not religious and has never suggested that he is some kind of moral exemplar for others. As long as nothing criminal has occurred and all of the involved are consenting adults, this should be left for Lloyd and his wife to somehow resolve, and the rest of us never needed to know. Martin Luther King has been cited as a person who had a pretty messy private life, but it is not to be doubted that he fought the good fight.
I think this has been the most balanced video of them all so far. I enjoy your viewpoints and how you articulate them. I was asked if I was gonna do a video on the Lloyd topic and I refused because I don’t wanna be part of the drama and bull crap we know people will do no matter how well you do it. Thank you Brigette.
Thank you SO much for this. Lloyd's work has really opened my eyes to a lot of things even though I've been disfellowshipped for 30 years. So glad to have found your channel and I am now subscribed!
When I found out about my wife beating drunken son in law who had three elders in his family .....I told her to immediately move out ,and he immediately started an affair with her best friend !.....This is abuse on all levels ,and no self respecting Father would allow such a creep under his roof .....It's just common sense !
I watched this when you first released it and meant to comment immediately. I was doing dishes and since they are incredibly distracting, I wanted to give you my full attention.
Geeze! You give great advice!! Yes, I agree we are all damaged and insecure creatures. As far as activists go, I think that they all eventually just get burned out from it all. They move on. Life has a lot of twists and turns and distractions. That is a good thing. You get beyond it. The memory of the cult fades as well as the people in it.
Thank you for this video, you have some great points, especially about self destruction. Spending every day immersed in everything JW could make it very difficult to heal.
I've had this thought rattling around my head for a little while, but haven't been able to articulate it in any coherent way. And then you just spit it perfectly! THANK YOU.
