Why Yes Theory Are About to Become BILLIONAIRES 

Wow guys! Thomas here. First of all.. Incredible editing, the detective-style clue set-up was super engaging and I think you nailed the hammer on the head with the different pillars you outlined. From my perspective I'll say this: 1. I definitely think you touched on most of the important points that got us to where we are today. The final one is a big one 100%! I haven't properly slowed down myself to really look back at all so I'm super grateful for this breakdown. 2. The term RU-vid start-up is something we started using a few years ago but reflected the structure we wanted Yes Theory to have from the very beginning in 2015. As Matt, Ammar and I were all avid builders, the idea of creating a RU-vid channel just for the sake of entertainment seemed uninteresting to us. We were dreaming much bigger and wanted the opportunity to touch people in a variety of ways. That meant building the channel around a central theme, and then building out ways to interact with that theme in ways we thought could be meaningful to people. Kind of like a Disney in some ways. You build the stories, then build the world and business around those. Felt like a challenge we could dedicate a lifetime to and with endless possibilities which has kept us going and inspired since the beginning. A few additional elements I would add as ingredients in our secret sauce ;) (1) Perseverance: many moments were extremely challenging and filled with doubt, but there was so no way we'd ever give up until we felt we had left no stone unturned. (2) Tough love mentor: we have a secret mentor who's guided us from the beginning. He sat us down early and legitimately told us.. "You're not that funny and you're not that good looking, at least not enough to rely on either one to build a audience from, so focus on great ideas". He pushed us to be more creative, think in new directions and find the right concepts that captured our message while also having the potential to reach a wider audience. (Fun fact about him, he sent us Mr. Beast's channel early on and told us he'd be the biggest creator in the world no joke). (3) Team, we complimented each other quite well, focusing on different things bringing different elements to the table. Our brains all think in different ways which can sometimes lead to a lot of discussion and not always seeing things the same way but ultimately it created the blend of ideas and ecosystem we created :) There's obviously so many more elements a part of this story but ultimately I agree with the last question which essentially means feeling connected to the question and answer "Why am I doing this?" Which can sometimes best be answered by trying and experimenting your way forward until it feels like it really clicks :) Much love! - Thomas

I've been on a similar journey of finding myself and honing in on the messages I want to share with the world through my content, so I want you to know you are not alone. Your video, Thomas' comments, and the other comments cover it pretty well, so I'll just add that part of their secret sauce (and something I'm trying to tap into lately) is having a close-knit team of persistent go-getters all with a common mission/values. Yes Theory has really inspired me to make videos like this, but I haven't really done it yet even though I am active on RU-vid via *three* different channels.. there is of course the hope that it will work, but then again it is also fun just doing what you want to do without chasing success. I feel like, you guys exorcise a bit the frustration of dealing with RU-vid growth, through RU-vid itself, making an adventurous video, in search of "the secret". I find this an incredible idea to pursue. Love you guys.

I think the secret is just straight up thinking BIG. A vision that is bigger than just "build a big youtube channel." A goal/mission that goes far beyond "I'm gonna make a billion dollars." Not being happy when you find what works, but "asking what's next?" Material goals and smaller goals are plentiful. A big life long mission backed by fierce conviction, is rare. Also there's this Spanish song that says "I want to have a million friends so we can sing louder." REAL connection with the people who support you, AND everyone of those energies aligned with the same mission, makes more of a difference. And that's when I realized, I was thinking wrong this whole time. But anyway thats my take on it, thank U 4 2 coming to my ted talk, haha.

Fantastic video! Really loved the message at the end. I see a lot of content creators struggling with views and easily being irritated and disappointed if they don't reach the numbers they wished for, they get frustrated and give up very easily. For me creating content has never been about the views, of course I look at all these numbers every now and then, but it's not these numbers making the content, it's still the creator being their true self. You have potential but rule number one is you never do a similar video to the one you like. Yes it may work but it's not worth it in the end. Do what Jake Tran did find your blue ocean, your own style and brand. I believe his video is titled RU-vidrs will not tell you this.

I might be wrong here but I would guess that not even Ammar, or Thomas, or Matt or any of the Yes Theory guys know the full answer to why they got where they are today. In my opinion, Zac is right. It simply isn’t replicable. Or at least it is unlikely. They took the opportunities as they appeared. You know, creating your own luck. But it’s not just as simple and cliche as that. As one of their long time loyal viewers (back when they had only 500$ in their bank accounts and lots of will power to succeed 🥹), from my perspective it seems like, ultimately, what stood out and fueled the success was the initial framework. And now they are just building up from it. And this initial framework was these 3 (initially 4… Derin 🥲) protagonists who really showed it all raw (the ups, the downs, the discipline, the commitment, their values), and whom was easy to create empathy with. Specially when they showed how completely different life backgrounds could have a dream in common and create such bond. Who didn’t want to be part of such a strong and unique friendship group like theirs? It seemed like we were also part of those challenges, adventures and struggles. I think that connection was the key. Building the community then was just a matter of bringing all these people together, who were already resonating with it. Not just with the seeking discomfort vision but the message of hope. Yes Theory is hope. It has been empowering young people who felt like needing validation for their “stupid” dreams, and also old (aka long time) dreamers who maybe thought they were not meant to dream anymore but who suddenly felt a sense of belonging. Yes Theory is belonging. People need that in their lives. Even if the Yes Fam wasn’t a thing, the videos would still be a safe place to keep sparking seeking something better in the lives of each one of us 💙 Yes Theory is all of this but also all the faces that contributed to it throughout the years. Less than ones and more than others, you are two of those faces as well. An active part of the process of sharing what it means to belong to this community. I’m grateful for Yes Theory for being the reason we connected and had fun in Morocco. They truly are having an impact in this World that not even governments are able to have. Thanks for the video, you two. Love you! 💛
