Most important for me, I litterally had no injury with it when I applied this advice : bend knees. It helps so much that's incredible.

When I first started jump rope I would feel my legs push off the ground. Now my feet bottoms are sore. What is the third thing you feel as beginner stage is graduated? When does it start effecting your cardio, and leg muscles?

1) not warming up: 20 jumping jacks, 10 air squats, 10 pushups, 10 front lunges on each leg 2) jumping on too hard of a floor 3) not taking a day break between jumping rope 4) being new to it

How hard do you jump rope everyday that you get injured lmao. I'm fine at 15-20 mins everyday. Enough time to recover. Had the best results this way too. Used to jump rope for an hour all that happened was I was too tired to learn new tricks and my calves and quads were stiff all the time.

@@lyka4753 i realized i am not active on sports when i was on school. So doing frequent jump ropes stresses my leg muscles. I suffered for almost a year of shin splints i almost gave up doing jump ropes. But now i am pain free. What i did is i completely stop from skipping for 2 months to give rest. Then when i came back i just do basic skips and boxer step for 50 to 100 repetitions. I do that for TWO WEEKS. No other tricks or foot work was added because it puts a lot of stress. After that my muscle becomes toned and i dont feel shin splits anymore.

Zen Dude community: I've jumping rope for about 6 months now 3 times a week every other day with no problem. The real problem began when I decided to jump rope morning and night 3 days in a row. I developed a localized sharp pain in the lower third segment of my left and right tibias in such a short period. The pain hasn't gone away yet although is gradually disappearing. If the pain doesn't go away by next week, I'll probably need to have an MRI or an x-ray done because it could be a case tibial stress fracture. It's been a month since that incident and I stopped jumping to keep the injury from getting worse and also to allow time for healing. Rope lovers, please rest. Allow your bones, muscles, and tendons to recover. You dont get stronger when you exercise but when you are recovering from exercising. Localized pain is different from generalized pain so if in pain see a sports medicine doctor.

I'm now on day 4 of rest...if they feel good enough to jump this evening then I'll have had 3 days of rest. I was plagued by anterior shin splints off and on for over 1.5 years. Changed up a few things and kept crushing jumping goals. Can't wait to get back to jumping. Definitely gotta make myself warm up. Foam rolling and stretches after help but clearly not enough!

I always had shin splits from running, I am 6'5 and lanky as hell and have terrible running form. Jump rope has improved my coordination a huge amount and can actually run now without looking like a pelican. My advice is the same as JRD build up slowly. I jump rope everyday but add only 30 seconds more than the previous workout, it might not seem like much but it adds up and within 120 days straight you will be able to jump for 60mins.

I don’t care who you are, if you jump on hard surfaces it will catch up to you down the road. You will have back and joint problems as you get older.

I had to do some calf exercises to prevent splints and have more surrounding muscle. calf raises, like you did, work the gastrocnemius, or the twin muscles. but because they have different heads inward Vs and outward Vs calf raises help each head more specifically. the soleus can be worked by doing calf launchers, but you need a bench or something to plant yourself on the ground. or you #dothething and build those calfs 😜 thanks Dan for the vid. I'll miss you in NYC. hit us up when you plan to come to H Town 🤘

ROZSBLUEJAY - We all start from different places. Take small steps. They'll add up over time! Be patient. Have you watched our video on preventing injury?? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CelOu1KYvPE.html

I used to jump 3000 up to 5000 jumps, 5 times per week and i had no injuries. I have no idea what changed, but after break when i was jumping maybe 7/8 times in month I can't back to my routine. By routine I mean atleast 2500 jumps and 300-500 double unders in one session. My calves are burning, like pain i bones and I can't even finish my training. I don't consider myself as a begInner and shin splints are typical at the start of journey with rope.
