Back in the day I remember all the old dudes back when i was like 8 9 and 10 years old back in 94 and 95 i remember my unlce and his homies would have epicenters I never knew would they did but they were the end all be all
I've got an Lc6i and an epicenter with the 27 hz module on my factory system and it made a huge difference . Had to put it on the lowest output voltage since I'm running Taramps but haven't had a single issue and everything I listen to sounds way better than it ever did before.
@@abelscaliber7969 You are incorrect! If you read in the manual it clearly shows that if the inputs on the amplifier you are connecting it to can only handle 3volts then it needs to be on the 2.5 voltage setting. Otherwise it will cause an input overload and the amp will go into protection, which happened to me seversl times when I had it set to 5 volts. Hasn't happened once since I put it at 2.5 volts
@@pgroadglide1581 I thought about it but no I'm not running a dsp . System is loud, clear and crisp and now that I've got my epicenter installed everything I listen to has amazing bass. Been very happy with audiocontrol products. Great quality 👌
@@josephtorgerson4902 alot of people I see says it helps with older music, what of your playing today's music like rap with heavy bass, would you have to turn the bass down to keep it from being ro much???
This resemble as the new audiocontrol epicenter micro. This devices just came out on the market not long ago. Audiocontrol epicenter micro has more to mess with than the nvx. Both work the same as line in converter, and acts like a booster. Now audiocontrol added the epicenter in their converters.
@@Trucker-Belly Man, I upgraded from a Kenwood ddx595 to a pioneer avic 8500nex. I sold the pioneer and got a dnx997x just for the sound quality. There was nothing wrong with the pioneer and infact , It had a much better GUI. But Sq on on both kenwoods worked so much better with the rest of my system. Oddly enough the pioneer ended up sounding better in someby elses car with their equipment, than it did in my own car.
@@Jsims111 nice. I added an EQ and my front stage is jacked up at the moment and I havent had time to do anything with the deck except bluetooth and the Garmin GPS. I do like the deck but I havent started using any of the features yet
The biggest advantage of a bass processor is having the ability to "rebass" your music at will. When tuned just right they can make regular music play like "rebassed" music that a lot of people listen to nowadays. I've never tried the NVX model, but I've tried a few, and the Audiocontrol Epicenter is the best. One thing to note is that you will either need to set your gains with the level of processing you desire, or turn down the bass level with a remote before processing, or it could sound muddy, or cause clipping.
Does using a digitial equilizer on the phone you are playing music from have the same effect? I'm guessing the answer is no but I'm not sure how they would differ
@bAc0nBoY755 Yes, and no, but not the samething as boosting with an equalizer. A Bass processor can add lower frequency output that isn't there in the original or you can tune it higher which can increase output in the frequencies that "are" in the original track, but at a higher level than recorded.
I will be purchasing one. This thing does pretty much exactly what the Epicenter does for way less, plus you have high level inputs. Make sure you use the subsonic filter on your amp. I had the original Epicenter back in 1989. OG basshead. LOL
No. You really didn't answer the main question in the video title. You read the manual, the this and the that, but You never really explain what the thing does, what it's for, or why to use it. You didn't even test any audio on it. Why did you make this video?

Made specifically for aftermarket or factory head units? As opposed to head units that aren't aftermarket or factory? These things are redundant & obsolete ever since the advent of DSPs and/or factory integration processors.
I used to think the same the thing until I experienced one for myself. A DSP and an bass processor compliment each other not replace one another. I tried all sorts things from sliding the left side of the Eq all the way up to using the bass boost and none of those things can truely replicate having something like an epic center.
It takes songs that doesnt have good bass and finds the bass at higher octaves (harmonics)to tell where to restore the bass at your selected lower frequency. Doing it this way the restored bass will match the songs perfectly and in real-time.
@@chaseman4622 it puts bass back in songs that never existed before so it would help. It may not go low enough but check out rebasssed music in the 25hz range. Just type rebassed 25hz into youtube
@@chaseman4622 rebassed music sounds 100x better than a epicenter or any bass reconstruction device could ever create. There’s like 3 songs I know that sound good with an epicenter … most of the time the bass is not even on beat or just sounds very out of place
@@craigmeeker6777 some dsps have bass enhancer, subXpander or bass restoration feature so that will be redundant. Not sure if PRV has that same feature.
I'm running a lc2i right now! The only problem I have with it is I can't play lower than 32 hertz, I really need something full range would love to keep it factory but still play low
The paint job or finish on this device looks absolutely horrible! Looks like the paint was applied and just before it flashed, or dried, someone ran a brush through it and it dried showing the brush strokes! Certainly hope it's not indicative of its over all quality! I noticed the part of the manual I saw showed an isolated ground. I would ground it to the body somewhere rather that to the battery. Years ago, like '99 or so, i ran a cadence electronic crossover with 7 volt line driver and back then running two kicker amps, increasing the voltage made an incredible difference! You dont hear much regarding line drivers anymore except in certain devices that include them as one of many other features. Today's modern equipment, new head units apparently have a higher voltage output so I hear, also some newer amps like Tarramps dont like higher line level voltage but the next time i build a system, and mind you I will need to look into details to ensure its beneficial but I'm looking into the powerus 8k which pushes 12 k
