I was thinking about fletching and it got me thinking about the design of fixed broadheads. A fixed broadhead with two blades might actually plane way more than ones with triple or quadruple blades. I can imagine an arrow with a dual bladed broadhead with dual fletchings would probably have some problems with accuracy. Now a triple broadhead with triple fletchings would be super accurate due to being equal on all sides in flight.
Broadhead and vane alignment don’t have any impact on arrow flight. It’s a mental thing for many archers, but on a properly built setup the broadhead will have no impact on your arrows flight.
Absolute truth ! Too many bow hunters go out to hunt deer and have know idea if there bow is tuned to the arrow they are shooting . I have heard countless stories of deer wounded . It’s about time someone like you has the courage and brought this issue to the front . Thank you .
Good video. I beleave in less things to go wrong with a 4 blade for me on a 480 spine 29 in. Arrow and 356 grain arrow. I got a bear 60 lb I shoot legion 2012 at 50 lb. 356 grain weight arrow and don't shoot over 20 yards shoot bloodline easton arrows. I only shoot 27 in draw so only about 350 fps
Since 1963 I’ve used two or four blade fixed almost exclusively. From recurves to todays compound without issues. I have used the Sevr1.5 on a few coyotes but that’s it. When an arrow is correct for a TUNED bow the arrow’s will fly properly. It’s my conviction fixed slice through tissue easier and better than mechanical designs. We’ve all seen the tv hunter using x-brand mechanical and seeing an animal run off with little penetration. I very seldom have had no pass thru hits over the years except on large boars. And I’m only drawing 60-62 pounds with mostly around 450 grain hunting arrows. The one thing that IS A FACT is some mechanical heads fail to function. There are story after story of many different designs NOT opening etc etc. I believe there are those that will not or can not tune the hunting arrows and the bow TOGETHER for whatever the many reasons and that’s where we hear “ I can’t get fixed heads to fly right”! Even a rifle has an affinity to perform better with certain bullets as most know.
Great take! Many folks don't put the necessary time into their equipment and then blame the gear for not working! Part of our goal with this channel is to address and minimize that trend. Thanks for watching!
@Tooth of the Arrow Broadheads it's a shame it's not common knowledge.... and the industry would rather mask the problem than support its dealers and shops. Everything is going DIY, and it's not for the better! Keep on making the content, and keep it real!
