I am a legal resident of the United States but this is a nightmare, I am returning to Mexico in 10 months, I just built my house with 90 thousand dollars and I am a seller on Amazon, my income with Amazon is less than 30 thousand a year but I only need 600 dollars to live for a month in Mexico, I really hope the economy get better for everyone.
You said that this is not the type of content you do anymore. Hmmm 🤔 Maybe we need this more than ever!! I for one am extremely greatful to be seeing this today!!!
I think after this re-upload I will have to do more videos like this. When I first published this video most people thought I was crazy, seems like most people are finally starting to figure it out and well as you said these kinds of videos are more relevant today than ever. Glad this video was helpful! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this video. I'm going to show it to my daughter. She wants to leave with her children with me. It's just a little complicated, long story, but here in the US we are going through exactly what you were saying. God bless you.
IS NEVER too late to leave the US, but the longer you wait, the more in the toilet you go into debt Don't think about leaving as a permanent thing, think about it as a vacation for 6 months That will give you time to get used to it, to see if you can handle it or not, you might hate it or you might love it. What do you have to lose ?? NADA
This video is so true especially today. If I could make Americans understand one thing it would be you are not free in America its an illusion they tell you but its not real. I am so anxious to get my family to Mexico. We have about a year until we will be ready to leave and I am counting the days.
I’m leaving the United States by December. I can’t afford to live in the Country anymore. I’m going to Belize. There is nothing in America anymore to keep me here anymore. I’m living just on my Social Security Check. I want to get out before War breaks out in the USA or Civil War. I had my Passport Renewed. I’m taking just 7 Carboard Box’s & an Extra Large Duffel Bag. My Dog is going with me & her Dog Kennel also. I’d like to give up my Citizenship but can’t if I want to Collect my Social Security Check!!
I have been talking to my son about moving to. Mexico. And he has bought into it is to dangerous for me. But the political climate and cost here is to challenging. I can’t get adequate health care and I am going to go lone wolf and hope he will follow.
Same here! Everyone I mention it to, freaks out. "Dick' went there & said it sucked." I think it will be exciting. The only other countries to compare for ease & cost are Portugal and Columbia. 'Florida grown' and retired, it's getting harder to live here... I'm spoiled...
It will be a year on the 26th of this month that I have lived in South America. Eight months in Medellin, six months I will be here in Manta, Ecuador, and a day after Thanksgiving I will be in Lima Pero. I'm playing the tourist visa game for a while until I find a place I love. I spend a little over 1000 a month and save more than I have ever in my life, and I only work maybe 3 hours a day. The food is better and my quality of life has never been better. Also I am not fluent yet in Spanish. If I can do it so can you.
Congratulations! That is awesome! As you already know the most difficult part of everything you have done so far, was take the first step. Everything else is easy. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Jose, Aaron here! After watching this re-uploaded video it hit me that maybe we need to do a group video. Not just me and you, but anyone else who has escaped the U.S. or Canada. Each one of us could tell there own story and give tips on how to GET OUT of DODGE!! Plus have a forum in which people could send in questions for us to answer and to help others Escape the U.S. concentration Camp!! I have several friends who I know would love to come on such a forum and I'm sure you know a few as well. I'd say 6 or 7 panelists would be great and we could run it for about an hour and a half to 2 hours. I'm sure that it would give a big boost to your channel and we would be able to spread the word in a more comprehensive way. What do you think JOSE??
The propaganda has been going on since I was a kid in the 60s-70s about how "dangerous" Mexico is. I knew it was not true then from long stays in Baja and frequent trips to shop for groceries in Tijuana. Still, even with all this experience spending time in Baja my son and I were unprepared for the stark contrast in living long-term in Mexico vs. our former lives in the U.S. And yes, the freedom...it's all about the freedom for us even though our moods and health and outlooks have vastly improved not to say how much further the money we earn from our online business goes now.
Great video Jose. I agree 100%. I actually moved to Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Just a heads up, be careful with excessive swearing as I don't want RU-vid to penealize you.
SORRY BUT it is NOT the current administration that RUINED the USA, it was the people who gave the MOST WEALTHY BUSINESS OWNERS trillions of dollars of a TAX CUT and gave ZERO relief to the middle class and poor - the REPUBLICANS YOU don't know who to blame for your situation and you probably voted for those CROOKS AND THIEVES ! PUT THE BLAME WHERE IT BELONGS
Yessir. Not a single lie in the whole video. Get out now while you still can. Or at least, make a plan b and c if necessary to save yourself and your family. The us govt. wants what you have, at your expense, and will get it by any means necessary. Thanks, Jose. That was heavy.
I talked to a Brazilian girl who visited Paris she was disappointed and France is more dangerous than Brazil, not saying Brazil is 100% safe, is not, but if you choose the right place to live and take the basic precautions you will be fine.
Very interesting to see the most dangerous countries are now some of the safest and some of the "safest" countries now becoming war zones. Thanks for sharing
Great video, I can strongly relate to a lot of this. I just moved to Tijuana earlier this month from Texas because The United States made it very difficult for me to get a K1 visa for my Russian fiancée (US Customs Love to ask questions about this but wont do a damn thing to get her in the USA) so I plan to bring her here to Mexico soon after I finish getting settled in Mexico. I am doing that cross border commute into San Diego and I am still stuck dealing with the USA because I can't afford to make a local wage because I have a lot of debt that needs to be paid from my previous trips to Russia and Turkey to see my fiancée along with the fact that I got ripped off really badly by a major trucking company in 2018 for a CDL which I dropped years ago and the fact that I paid money for my move to Tijuana including to get my temporary residency under economic solvency. Thank you for your videos because they really helped me get my resident card which I got in 1 day in Mexico City with some help from a lawyer. One of these days I would like to either move to Russia or deeper into Mexico like Mexico City or Cancun but I can't right now because I have to pay off a lot of debt so thankfully Tijuana has given me the opportunity to be able to cross the border to San Diego to work but one thing I would like to say is that it is very inconvenient to do this. I usually pay $110 MXN Pesos to park my car at the border every day I cross now because these US Customs officers will harass me and accuse me of crap until they are done searching my car and find nothing and I don't want to take the chance of them or someone trying to plant something in my car because I heard rumors that they do this kind of stuff in Tijuana. So I use the pedestrian lane that takes about 2 hours to get across and try to plan to leave for work 4 hours before my shift begins to go to work so I can catch the trolley to get to work on time because The US is a pain in the but to still have to deal with in my life. I am well aware that some people will work online remotely but I struggle with this because I am not the most tech savy person in the world and it appears to me that all the remote entry level jobs such as customer service want someone to either live in The USA or they pay less then $1000 per month which I can't do when I have large debt payments to make back to the US banking system. Thank you for your videos and inspiration because they were very helpful in getting some of the information that I needed to legally move to Mexico. I also can completely agree with you on the USA too because I lived their my entire life until now, I worked in the prison system as a correctional officer, I still work private security in the USA, and I ran for public office in the USA. All I can say is that the United States is not the country that it used to be anymore and I am very happy to at least be partially out of the USA and I am working towards my goal to eventually be fully out of the USA one of these days because I have had enough of the crap that The USA has put me through. Thank you for your videos and God Bless.
Hey there: We've been living and traveling all over central Mexico for almost 11 months now with no plans to return. We ARE getting a new visa stamp every 6 months but we just take a cheapo flight to Tijuana and go to airport immigration and get a new stamp. (We're just doing this to create a paper trail and will get in touch with a Mexican immigration lawyer next year.) About that in-and-out burger....we had a REALLY good burger before our flight back from Tijuana...there's a Johnny Rockets at the airport there. Was a great burger and fries fix for us!
It’s true about the taxes. I thought that the IRS was gonna reign in the big corpororations instead Biden lowers the IRS reporting threshold from $20k gross earnings to $600! This pisses me off because they’re now going after the lower class for chickenshit instead of the big money makers. I used to make a decent side hustle on Ebay selling collectibles that I picked up from yard sales but now I’ll have to ask the sellers to provide a receipt so I can keep books on a side gig that was like a hobby to me. At that point it starts being another full time job with less pay, fuck that!
I still can't believe the threshold was lowered to 600. They said they wouldn't do it only to find out this whole year will be year 1 of all this. I can only imagine next years tax season as people find out that havent already. If only they could just print all that money we wouldnt have to pay taxes..... oh wait.....
Traveled all over & I will say leaving USA to Mex. has been an Awakening I kid you not ... 1-way tix GDL then moving around now near Merida en Chelem/Progreso ... ❤❤❤❤ perfecto y paraiso
This is a powerful video my friend and I totally agree. There is so much going on in the world and US right now and most states are in high alert 24-7 most recently even more so all of which make this message even more profound. Please know i am just looking out, if i were you I would mute or edit some of those F bombs to prevent any problems with utube or move the video to your website. Totally a suggestion, my intentions are good and always always i send you and everyone positive energy. 👍
@JoseArtegaTravels your just speaking facts and reality that the problem in the U.S. has never been solved their issue of giving more freedom to their citizens and just like you said go somewhere where you want to be treated at best and it doesn’t have to be Mexico in fact it can be somewhere else to get more privacy and freedom
I was lucky...surprising that I got my passport during The situation that happened in 2019...I also expedite it to get it faster...yes, I had to pay extra money but I didn't care...I have a friend who works at the Post Office and they told me that it's taking a long time to get it a Passport...more than six months
@@superd0fad0 You can not get a Passport the same day in the USA unless it is an extreme emergency. In fact those emergency same day passports are only given at US Consulates abroad and are for short term use only to travel back to the USA from a Foreign Country. If you have proof that you can get a Valid Passport in the same day please provide the information below. Thank you.
@DandMtravel, It does NOT take 8 months. I got my expired passport renewed last year in less than 1 1/2 months. My granddaughter received her first passport within the same amount of time.. Beware of this type of propaganda,
Jose why does America has so many laws when America has the highest rate of incarceration, more laws, and it's politically correct! Their Also to many police officers!
More laws = More ways they can arrest you, harass you, and extort you. Which translate to more control. Think about it, everyone lives in constant fear that something they say or do can ruin their whole entire lives and it is all up to the discretion of some corrupt officer or judge or worse..... USA is not a fun place to be these days, not by a long shot.
I have moved out of that place about 15 years ago, the best move I have ever made and I would never, ever go back. As this guy says, it's a prison system that you must brake free from. you have to sale every fucking thing, get yourself a passport, buy yourself a ticket and get the fuck out before it's too late !!!
Great content! I 100% agree with you, the U.S. is falling apart both economic and socially its just rotten. Just like you my parents left Cuba back in the 1960's. Everything I see, is just crazy, The writing is on the wall I know it. Thanks for the content, I would love to get around doing more Travel content and in addition...Sell my things!
There's contradictory advice about what is needed. First, people who just leave without going to consulate are told to go back to home county and start there. Then, recently people are saying just go to Mexican consulate. Which is accurate?
So I am retired on social security and I travel w/ my service dog. I found someone on Volaris airlines that can get us onto one of their flights but I'm not sure what to expect once I get into Mexico City or Guadalajara with a service dog in the airport. She does NOT fit into a carrier:) I am kinda old but used to traveling back and forth to Hawaii this way. I had to break them in back in the day but I am kinda tired of breaking people in:( Any comments/suggestions? Thanks.
I honestly have no idea how airlines handle bigger animals in Mexico. I suggest asking in some of the expat facebook groups. Another option people do with dogs is that they drive to their destination.
Thank you for sharing. I’ve been talking about this w/my family and peers but they just don’t get it. I can see the mental and physical toll it’s taking on their health but they’re in so much denial I feel trapped at times. I feel I may just have to do this on my own.
I'm from Finland and my fiancé is from America. We've been thinking where to settle. He really thinks living in US is the best thing for us. I'm really not into doing the whole K1 thing, a long process.... It would be so easy to us marry eachother in Finland because he would automatically get the citizenship and all benefits from the government without much effort. In Finland you get free healthcare, education even as an adult, support for your finances.....only the winter is long and harsh. I've been to US now for a visit, and even though its a beautiful country and the people are nice, the system is rotten. And the food is terrible.... 😂 Work ethics suck, education sucks, public transport sucks......
Wow sorry to hear about all that. Hopefully he snaps out of it. There are just so many better options out there! I would also chose Finland over the US these days. Hopefully you guys can come to a resolution! Good luck!
Yes you can renounce your US citizenship, you have to pay a fee when you apply for that and it can take years until they finalize the process. But you can for sure
Tell me about it, right now it's very hard to get a pasaport plus if the federal government closed everything is going to be behind of schedule. We about to enter another war, so people won't have food.
It's very difficult for me to leave because I am a widow and my adult children live here. Especially one of my children isn't leaving the US anytime soon. Now I wonder what's going to happen to the value of houses with this April eclipse🤨
Leave before it’s too late! Exactly what I told myself. I’ve sold the house & getting ready to go in a few weeks. I’ve got all my paperwork ready, opened up a Mexican bank account. I will be living by the beach, get me a lot & build a small house. Try to live off the grid is my goal. The U.S. has a $35,000,000,000,000 debt & growing by a trillion per quarter! Big bankers have said this massive debt will eventually bring down the entire financial system. The IMF has said “something’s got to give.” And it will, sooner rather than later. Thank God I’m lucky enough to get out before that happens.
Jaja yeah I had forgotten how much I used to use that word and others. That was every other word when I was working in kitchens throughout the majority of my life. Maybe I should drop a few more in my future videos just to keep me honest 😅
I am 45 years old, I think my main concern is when I retire at 60/65 years old the USA will make it hard for people to retire or move to Mexico. I already see the immigration rules are constantly changing.
The USA might be making it more difficult for you but I can assure you Mexico is making it easier. You can watch this video for more info on how to get your residency without having to prove any financials ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XH9lxrAehSU.html
Good luck.,. I left and found someone else here in PH. My wife was very hesitant to leave her adult children and grand children. I left mine but my family is mostly gone now, I have a son and granddaughter in CT USA. So I finally convinced her to leave. An altimatom...if she won't leave I am... with or without her But I'm heading straight to MX... I'm gonna visit the Mexican Consulate in Manila about residence in Mexico. Thx for the news in USA. I saw that before I left last year, now it's worse????
Glad my videos have been able to help you so far. Good luck with everything! Hope you make it to Mexico soon so you can take care of your medical issues!
It costs more than money. They do an exit interview, plus an FBI Check and IRS Check to see if you owe any taxes. They have to approve you before you can renounce. It's not as easy as it sounds.
José, I really need your help. I’m planning on moving to Mexico in June 2024. I really want to learn Spanish and I’d like to hire someone from Mexico who would like to teach me. Please let me know if you know someone.
You should try checking out some of local Facebook Groups. Here's one of my favorites for rents 10,000 Pesos or Less facebook.com/groups/913642873122019
Just came back from Mérida and was really interested in this video but 😢can’t do the cursing. Maybe someone else has similar information and thoughts without them.
Again this is a very old video. As I mentioned at the beginning of the video this is why I don't use that language anymore. I don't want to deter people from my information over a disagreement over what words to use
Yes I had to start this channel simply because my original channel was censored to death 😅 and at that point I was already making more videos on living in Mexico. Then 2020 happened and I just gave up trying to let people know what was going on..... As we saw from the last several years..... most people are still asleep. I don't make content on that old channel anymore, just this channel...... for now... Stay tuned
funny this video was made in 2019 just before the world practically exploded. At that time I was planning vacations. November 2019 I fell breaking both ankles and my whole world changed. My plans, my perspective, my mental and physical reality all changed. When covid hit I had already been through the hell of isolation and that 'mental shift'. I decided then that I was going to change things. I went to Panama in 2021 scouting for a place to move to. I have watched thousands of videos of places all over the world. I have less than 2 years left before I can collect SS and when that times comes, I am going to leave. I have already downsized, paid off debts and researched the details. I like the job I have and some days think that I will do it forever. But then there are the days that I realize I am not as fast as I used to be, and that creepy feeling that the younger ones are looking at me and wishing I would go away with my vast knowledge so that they can just get things done much faster. In an occupation where safety is so important, going fast means there is more room for mistakes and lives can be lost. I am sure that most people have seen the recent reports of people being seriously injured by MRI 'accidents'. Well that is my occupation. And those 'accidents' are usually created in an environment where the people that work there are not paying attention and not taking safety seriously. Usually much younger and no experience. It is scary and I guess it's time for me to get out. I created my own videos back then with my ankle injuries and have just been chronicling my life's ups and downs since then. When I look back I see how much things have changed in the last 4 years. I am taking a cruise with family next year and I will Make SURE I get that passport STAMP!!!
México is different and some places here are better than in the USA and viceversa, Yucatán is a great place to live for americans, canadians and europeans because of the difference in the average wage and cost of living. However, what you said about having to deal with the government and the banking system is just a trade off in México, it is true that we don't "FEEL" the interferance of the government but is certainly there, if you are just an employee the employer is the one in charge of calculating and paying your taxes, so you only receive the net income without any worries about taxes, thats why you don't feel the government hand getting into your pockets. The same with IVA (kinda like sale taxes, but in reverse, its a buyers tax) which is already in the price tag of every product sold in México, unlike the USA that advertises the price without taxes. If the bank detects unusual deposits or transfers in your bank account they can actually freeze your bank account without a judicial order and you have the burden to proof the legal source of that money if you want acces to it. Not only that, here in México most people are unaware and uninterested in politics, so they don't know or don't care about the laws that actually diminish their liberties and purchasing power, in fact most people in here support the Universal Basic Income that AMLO and MORENA are slowly implementing, they actually believe that AMLO is paying for those "ayuditas" rather than the tax payer. There is no "conservative" party here in México, they call the "PAN" party an extreme right party but that is not true, they actually support the LGBTQ+ agenda, feminist quotas and mandatory renewable energy sources. My point is that México is more complex than you think, some places like Yucatán are great for Americans but you need to understand that this is because of the purchasing power of the dollar vs the Mexican peso, not because of our policies or government. And obviously México has access to most comodities the first world countries have, at least the comodities that a middle-high income household can buy in the USA, we still lack a few of absurdly and unnecesary luxury services that only exentric rich people pay for.
Like you said some people prefer it in the USA and others prefer it in Mexico. I know things are not perfect or as they seem, thats what I try to bring up on this channel. If you lived in the USA or Canada you would understand. I know its hard to comprehend but things are much better in Mexico these days, if you don't believe me go to the USA and see for yourself. Thanks for sharing
@@samirgomeznovelo746 "There is no "conservative" party here in México, they call the "PAN" party an extreme right party but that is not true, they actually support the LGBTQ+ agenda, feminist quotas and mandatory renewable energy sources."..... okay...so what you're saying is, they ('PAN'), basically support much of the highly controversial & divisive 'woke' bullsh*t that is effectively destroying our society? Got it!
One of my brothers did 17 years in prison, 2 in the SHU @ Pelican Bay. My other brother is doing 19 years in Folsom State Prison. The 🇺🇸 Prison Complex is no joke.
Good morning from the Oregon coast Jose. 4 years ago, Tangerine Tyrant was in charge.🤔 nearing Communism. Yeah sounds about right. Love this video! Currently planning our move to Mexico. Waiting for my passport now.
I love this video!! Truth! I love the raw language too. Thank you for sharing this. I’m so happy every day that I moved to Mexico. Freedom!!! I kinda miss your old channel.
Muchas gracias! If you miss my old content and my Raw style you should check out my new channel www.youtube.com/@JoseArteagaUnleashed I had to start over from scratch 😅
Jaja I was basically right off the boat back then and still full of rage and anger from back home. Living in Mexico has mellowed me out a bit 😅 but trust me I still lose it from time to time. The Cuban in me always has to make an appearance lol
There is plenty of work, but it is all Mexican wages which most people don't want to accept. That is why I encourage everyone to make sure they have some sort of income or online job or plan for a small business when they get to Mexico or they will quickly find themselves without any money. I do not work in Mexico I only do youtube videos
@@JoseArteagaTravelsearning income to live in MX: This IS the problem for most of us 55+ US citizens. Finding a way to GET PAID to support myself abroad when I quit my job. I DID ALREADY get the 3-yr Mx temp visa from Puerta Vallarta early this year....even though I'm "too young to get social security" right now.
